  • Come along on this epic ride to the castle in the sky . This will be a 2 part series as we have over 2 hours of footage shot on 6 different cameras including a 1971 Nikon F2 film camera with black and white film. This video is our quest to find this abandoned mine , we ended up stashing our bikes and hiking over 2 hours on foot . Part 2 will be exploring all the buildings , stay tuned . Hit the captions button for a little narrative or leave off for a cinematic view . All music used is my own.

To tell you the truth we made a lot of wrong turns that day . The road thru the upper mine is blocked off. I've recently heard Mascot mine is sold now to new investors. Thanks for stopping by and your info.

    AWESOME footage buddy!
It's amazing how they built that entire compound on a cliff. Even the stairs going up to the road are an engineering marvel!
The display pods on the older Rubicons and Ranchers are way nicer than the new ones. What were you doing at 4:54? Turning on the GPS?
I noticed you replaced your black rubber shift nob with a chrome skeleton(?). I was looking at one exactly like that on Amazon, but I didn't buy it because I wasn't sure it would be the right size or correct thread. Where did you get yours?
That was an awesome trail starting around the 9:42 mark!
EXCELLENT video my friend! Super nice job on the editing! Loved it! Can't wait for part 2!

These engineers need a medal alright . I think these stairs are the rebuilt version as you'll see in the next video part of the old staircase .Yes , I was trying to set my GPS but no signal till I got up higher . I got that shift knob as a birthday present from my gf , any universal shift knob will work I think . Most come with a plastic insert that you tread on first then the knob over top and tightened down with allen head screws on all 4 sides. My truck shifter is a different company, Levoc from japan , an F1 style knob and it is the same type of fittings . Honda is a automotive company too so I think any or all car/truck types should fit bud . Part 2 is almost done, its down to 45mins lol gonna chop it up a bit more to under 30mins . I will reply to your email when I get home .

Right from the opening scene I knew ha ha . Are those alfalfa fields? . This is an incredible place , how did they build it I wonder ? I wish I could go on these rides with you boys . I still use film camera's also . Is that a gun case on your quad ? Part 2 looks like it's going to be good cant wait . Ride safe young lads , that's a dangerous place.

Thanks for the kind words bud . Yes those are alfalfa fields for hay , most of the farms are fruit orchards . Every type of fresh fruit is for sale along this highway , from farm to table . One section of this hwy looks like Las Vegas strip but all fruit stands . My son only shoots film , mostly portrait style and almost entirely black and white film . You will see some of his work in the next video . Yes that's a gun case for bears and my hater's lol . Thanks for watching bud

Nice video! That's some super cool footage of the mine...and that view from the road...wow! We've gone riding on the other side of the valley there (Ashnola) but not on this side...where is the staging area to unload machines? If you don't want to reveal it that's totally cool I understand! 😁

Thanks for checking this out . We started on the nickel plate rd . That white church at the beginning, right across the hwy. Apparently you can ride the back roads all the way to Penticton. Ride safe up there if you go really really steep . There is supposed to be 3 other mines up there we're are planning to find this summer .

@@WeekendWarriorsBC Nice Video! I live nearby and I have been wanting to take the Jeep up here to explore here for a long time. Totally understand if you don't want to share the directions but I will check out Gaia and begin on nick plate RD. I know they closed this area to the public in 2017 so curious how you managed to get to the actual structures? I heard you can ask the Hedley Museum for permission but I have not tried that yet. Cheers and stay safe!
