Our second song with dodieeeeee!!!!!!! We recorded three songs that day, and this was the last one, and we had about 30 MINUTES to arrange and track it. ALSO, dodie didn’t know about this one, so there was no time to learn lyrics or practice! IT WAS TOTAL CHAOS!!!!!! I’m kind of amazed how calm and collected everyone looks...what a bunch of pros.
I'm glad you explained. I was thinking the piece of paper had a grocery list, or maybe her pro/con list for moving to America.
Lyrics makes more sense.
Turned out great! Sounded like everyone knew what they were doing for it perfectly well. The only giveaway was the lyrics sheet dodie is holding.
So, this was more like a Jammin' session...
Don't how to say the next in English: Con razón las miradas de complicidad que solo los músicos comprenden.
You guys are Amazing!
@@ConorReilly_ Oooooo MUSE! Why haven't I thought of that?????
@@lastairbender_883 Hahaha
Big shouts to the two women absolutely crushing the background vocals
Yep I think they are way underappreciated.
@@suckmybat Like when Nahneen Kula sings, always the volume of the background voices its so low, we can't appreciate the assemble of the harmony. I think that happens when the mixing its one instrument player
@@suckmybat They are not underappreciated, because they are singing as lead vocals as well, listen to Sarah Dugas's "Sweet dreams mashup" for example.
We need a part 2 where you get George Ezra in the studio and dodie back in! That'd be killer.
And Ezra Furman
No thanks...the song is much better for not having him involved...I'd prefer he stick to writing and let Pomplamoose sort the musicianship and vocals!!
@@soulfabuk George has a beautiful voice . Don't be so negative
Y'all, this slaps SO HARD. Absolutely fantastic from top to bottom.
ALSO, Dodie's smile after she nails the vocal at 1:10 is so adorable.
As well as her eyebrow-rise at 2:52 ;-)
@@CalendulaF so good
The "shuffle" to the music, smile and head-tap at the very start as well, 0:00
Dodie's smiles make my heart melt.
This shit sucks
I need to see at least seven more collabs with dodie before the end of this year.
What a matchup.
Nick Campbell deserves way more praise than what he's already receiving. He's such an outstanding bass player in every single aspect! He's definitely the complete package with perfect timing/groove, tasteful note choice, attention to tone (in regard to the song), he knows exactly when it's time for an epic fill or when it's time to be silent, and then it's just a bonus that he also looks so happy doing what he's doing.
:fistbump:
Nick is quickly becoming my favorite bassist in general.
Totally agree!
He's a fucking boss, let's not sugar coat it....
Agreed.
tip of the hat to the audio engineers (especially the mix), somehow the band is tight and loose at the same time, while the vocals and harmonies are crazy solid and infectiously fun ... this song through headphones is happiness
Wow...excellent commentary! Spot on.
Oh yeah, pretty much everything about this band is flawless. it's seriously amazing.
Right on! ;-) You nailed it! Also doing extremly well on my regular playback (Amp+Speaker)
that's what she said
That's been Jack and Nataly's style right from the start. Cool as all hell...and headphones, definitely!
Digging the guitar on this btw.
BECAUSE BRIAN IS A GENIUUUUUUUSSSSSS
Dodie has the most contagious smile
TWO FAVORITE ARTISTS COVERING FAVORITE SONG IM IN HEAVEN

Came here for Dodie, and stayed for thay amazing bass sound...
Loving this track - I keep coming back!
Came here for the Pomplamoose and stayed for the Dodie
came here for Tessa.. and here i am😂
loved the mix was good. enjoyed Dodie! But loved everyone:)
SAME
Dodie is such a free spirit.
Downside she won't be adopted by Nataly and Jack.
So,
How can we bring L.A. and London geographically closer? How?
I definitely need more of this collab.
Who clicked 'Read more' expecting a full explanation on how to get LA and London geographically closer?
Traction cities. The answer is traction cities.
Anti-tractorists will tell it's impractical, or even impossible, but we'll prove them all wrong!
*temporarily distracted by amazing string work before Nick punching those upbeats brings me back down loooooow* mmmmmmmHMMM
Hahahaha. It's weird how good these people are at their instruments.
@@Pomplamoose It's so weird and fantastic and glorious and I love every second of it
LOVE when you all can share the air while singing and playing and no one has to be sequestered! DELICIOUSLY GROOVY SOUND Cheers From Ohio
Wow Dodie is getting better and better every time I hear her, holy!
Can we all just take a minute to appreciate the amazing job the two backup vocalists do with their harmonies? Like anyone who so gs knows how hard it is to keep it tame and clean when you really just wanna belt with the best of em
Shoutout to the background vocals. They really complete this masterpiece
Natalie's and Dodie's voices, sugar and smoke. Nice.
Out of all Pomplamoose covers this might be the biggest improvement over the original.
If there's a cuter smile than Dodie enjoying herself then I'm yet to see it. Absolutely wonderful.
I adore Dodie's expression after finishing a song - it's more apparent in the "Monster" video but there's a glimpse in this one too. She just looks so delighted!
This is the collab we wanted and needed; this collab is a God given right and a privilege. Thank you dodie, thank you pomplamoose :)
I mean this as lovingly as I can:
At the very very end of the video Dodie looks like she has no earthly idea what's going on but is very happy to be here.
Sounds like jetlag !!!
I saw that smile as the perfect, "look what we just made" delight.
I've always had my doubts about the expression "playing music", as very often it's the result of hard work and commitment to hone a craft. But then you watch videos like these, where you see people who are beyond talented, and who have honed that talent over the years, just having loads of fun fooling around with amazing results.
Unbelievable. Everything is perfect. Dodie defies gravity with such low-key yet super-funky singing. Completely addictive. The perfectly laggy guitar solo is just right.
Just wanted to say I watch this video pretty much every day. The combo of Dodie and Nataly and the sick rhythm section is just too much.
There are so many things that I like, Love about Pomplamoose. One of those things is that it is obvious the everybody truly 'feels' the music and what you're all creating.
I cannot get over how amazing the mix is. You can NOT ever let whoever is behind the desk go, they are god like
To this day, I love your philosophy of "if you hear it, you see it at least once" It marries the visuals with the audios so well.
the cello and violin as they raise the tempo is so exciting for a guy like me .... nice touch!
Tempo stays the same throughout, to me. Do you mean crescendo?
I love this so so so so so so so much. Everything. Love the keyboardist dancing. Love the singers smiling. Love the background singers. Love the eye-contact from the strings. LOVE EVERYTHING.
this is absolutely my favorite female cover of this song and I just found it accidentally the other day.
I love how everything sounds so easy and chill. no 'over singing'..which drives me insane.
based on the story, there's a high level of intuitive collaboration here.
love it. absolutely tremendous.
She is absolutely adorable in the cutest nerdy beautiful ways!! I love Dodie.. And as always, I adore Pomplamoose. Keep up the awesome, never let your shine fade, because ALL of you guys are a bright light of creativity in the interwebworld.
It's hard to believe that they recorded three songs of such superb quality in one day: Shotgun, Monster and the Breakup Mashup. Amazing voices, musicians and the chemistry. They all clearly enjoy the sounds of music they are making. I can't stop playing this over and over.
I LOVE this! ... and I'm 62 yrs old! Proof that good music can span generations. Outstanding, y'all, simply outstanding!! Love it!
That solo has a lot of personality. Kudos to the guitar player. This version is phenomenal. Excellent musicians, all. Love Dodie.
There's nothing more inspiring to me than watching fully empowered people do their work. AWESOME. You are a gift to the world. Gratitude!
These always just seem so organic (and a little bit magic)..
This one seems like u have done a bit of post processing, but I always wonder what the live unedited would sound like. To be in the room..
I've been following since early days of pomplamoose, and and hope to be a patreon subscriber when I am off the Dole again. Love u guys. -len
My favorite artists in one video: dodie, Pamplemoose, and George Ezra!
the strings, the vocals, the percussion. all of it. amazing 👌
I have listened to this so many times, keeps getting better and love the expression on Dodie's face at the end
Such MAGIC when pros are having a blast together!
I honestly think this is one of the best produced recordings of all time.
i love love this so much
I need to see at least seven more collabs with dodie before the end of this year.
What a matchup.
I’ve been listening it on repeat
Cant get enough!
Bravo, bravo, bravo. When you're all having fun it manifests in the music. Loved this piece
Idk what it is about Dodies look in this, but she looks so deliberately careless with her looks in the most pure / genuinely beautiful way. I don’t know how to describe it past that.
I think it's fair to say...YOU GuyS Straight ROCK !! That was funky as...!
2:33 DAMN SAAANG IT
Henry Cline yes! I’m not used to hearing Nataly singing that forcefully. I dig it!
That bass SLAPS
Nick Campbell is a beast on bass. His syncopation and groove on this one is awesome.
Love it. Bring her back. Whether it's her songs, covers or mashups, it sounds amazing. Everybody sounds amazing.
Aside from the music whoever edits these videos is brilliant. The capture of the chemistry of interactions between the musicians shows how truly fun music can be. Inspiring to say the least.
I’m so here for this bass line, its amazing. I love bass.
I love everything about this song. Everything was super tight.
In my opinion this is so much better than the Orginal bei George Ezra. Another world! Absolutely alive in every second! Thanks for this great music!
The composition and execution of this cover is straight up stank nasty! Love how all 4 of the female vocalists have very distinct yet complimentary tones and absolutely crush the execution!
I've had a sudden obsession with Dodie's music and thanks to this cover I've discovered my new obsession, Pomplamoose
I love this everyones amazing! Ill see dodie live in 4 days so im freakin out over here.. also what a tease that they waited to release the songs they did with dodie
When I heard this I literally cried tears of joy, with my toddler in my lap. Thank you so much for making magic happen!
I love Dodie's voice. Damn. And that smile 😊 Bless.
What a great song! I have listened to it for many times now and I still love it.
Someone PLEASEEEEE make an hour loop of this masterpiece
If you’re on desktop you can right click the play button and hit loop, if you’re on mobile you can tap the three dots on the top right and hit loop
Hope it helps :)
God Damn where has this band been all my life
dodie smiles singing "i could get used to this" while performing a song she wasnt prepared for at all. may we all handle our life challenges that well!
More Pomplamoose with dodie and Nataly singing together! What a great sound!
My neighbours just listened to some excellent music 🎵 whether they’d liked it or not
Hahaha 🙌🏻
That's what was cool about having neighbors; you heard some great music of multiple styles and artists. I live out in the country now, so while I can play my music loud, nobody gets to hear it :-(
Nataly's vocals in that final crescendo are so bloody good!
This is just magic.. enchanting people, leaving me speechless
WOWOW. this combo feels like it was made for me 😍 two of my faves covering another favorite! this is so flippin groovy
I'm so used to Nataly's relaxed singing, this caught me by surprise and I loved it. Awesome job!
This is my new morning song 🎶
Dodie and Pomplamoose - always an incredible combination. Just wonderful music. Thank you!
I've done these kind of shows -- where you really haven't rehearsed the tune, but you know all the players (and what they'll probably DO) so you just sit back in the music and ROLL! THIS IS JUST THAT KIND OF ROLL!
Haha. Yeah. Plus...we got to edit some in post ;)
I don't know how many times I've listened to this...maybe 100? Easily. It never fails to bring a smile to my face! The energy is everything and I can't get enough! Y'all should get this crew back together 😍
Wow! Impressed! Great arrangement and vocals. The drummer kills it. Tight band, strings and backups mesh seamlessly. Very well done!
The last few seconds of this song is breathtaking. [2:35] Nataly really hits the ball over the fence!!!
dodies expressions are absolute class :D
WHOOOOAAAA
I wanted you guys to cover this so badly and you then go and _add_ dodie to it? Perfection.
I've probably watched this forty times at this point. I just love it so much.
110% those backing singers are amazing, stumbled across pompaloose about a month ago an now can’t stop listening to tgem
Pompamoose 😅
The cover we didnt knew we needed aaah! I need this in spotify immediately, please?
I could get used to this!
Dodie is just awesome. Love her voice so much...
I just found about this collab, it's already past midnight and I'm dancing in my room like there's no tomorrow.
Thank you so much for this.
PLEASE. PLEASE. WOULD YOU MAKE A PRETTY SHINING PEOPLE COVER, PLEASE?
IT NEVER OCCURRED TO ME YOU GUYS WOULD MAKE A GEORGE EZRA COVER, BUT NOW I CAN'T STOP THINKING ABOUT IT.
Sorry if I was loud.
Yeeeess I like this version so much! I feel so relaxed and happy now
I need George to see this!! the style reminds me of a specific type of indie pop from the early 2010s and I love it
Dodie is pure talent. Great lyrics, very creative melodies over very simple harmony. I loved it.
P E R F E C T
I need a sandwich😍
Breaking out the good headphones and listening again. Damn, I was just going to bed, knew I shouldn't have clicked, I'll be up all night.
You have done it again! Love this collaboration with Dodie. Strings and vocals ruling the day. Thank you for sharing your joyful and fun sound.
No matter who covers this Song, they Smileys at the „uuUUsed to this“ Part they Smileys
Just makes you happy
Love this Video
More Dodie and Pomplamoose please.
Ustedes llevan la música en la sangre. Tienen una vibración grupal hermosa y maravillosamente contagiosa. Son geniales.
1:11 dodie just made my heart so warm ❤️❤️
Love it when Nataly lets loose on that last chorus! More of that please :)
I trust people who listen to your songs
This is so sick omg my head is bobbing so much
YAYYYYYYY
Jack Conte has been such an inspiration to me for years. I definitely wish I was more involved with music than I am. Seeing all these artists together producing such good music, definitely gives me a sad yet nostalgic feeling.... a craving and desire for a feeling I know I experienced sometime somewhere. Keep it up guys! You got us feeling emotions and shit.
My two favorite artist in one frame and in harmony ~ I am melting 💖😍
