In this video, we will learn how to play Paul Kossoff's classic guitar solo from 'All Right Now' by Free. Let's break down the solo note-for-note and learn it in less than 20 minutes!
I feel that this is an essential guitar part to learn if you're an intermediate guitarist. The late Paul Kossoff had very unique phrasing and vibrato and this solo is a great study of mixing both major and minor pentatonic scales.
If you're looking to advance your guitar playing, I offer a range of courses.

When you say you think in intervals are you going from just the root of the key/scale,
or also from the root of each chord when it changes?

It generally depends on the complexity of the progression and/or how long we’re staying on each chord. For a simple progression like this, I’d generally navigate from the root of the home key (A), but maybe highlight chord tones here and there.
However, if it’s a blues or a non diatonic progression, I’ll definitely navigate from the root of each chord.
