i know a lot of contractors who made lots of money with these we had them repower with 671 in front big difference
they were good machines in there day compete with cat in 60s and 70s
Saw a fleet of these being moved down the m4 towards Swansea in the 80,s. They were owned by locks plant of he'ol y cyw Bridgend.
@Backpacker1uk The T is TS14, TS24, etc stands for twin engine. The single engine ones are simply S14, S24, etc.
Nice footage, love the sound of detroits at work , great to see the 14 crossing a working road.have just posted a clip check it out on Gintysdiesel.
I ran a ts-24 while in the seabees in the early 70's
yes its a ts14 allways servicing these machines
looks like a TS24 to me
TS24 TS14 only has one engine
Have some 95% 33.5X33 tires for pretty cheap if anyone on here needs any!
where is bulls gorge in new zealand.
man these things are loud. neat but load. LOL
Thanks Anthony. Who gives a rat's arse about what this critic thinks about Terex or that critical bloody know-all thinks about the sound of its engine?! That job was a major, and those big green machines often had to work in conditions resembling a giant bath of chewing gum, but they got the job done.
I still say a Twin Engined Cat scraper will out dig, out haul, and out work a Terex any day. We still operate nothing but Cat scrapers, some of which are even elevator loading/dumping. One of ours is the oldest Cat still alive and running, although it now has a new Cat Tier 3 engine.
We also have some old ALCO Road Switchers which now have Cat Tier 3 diesels hooked up to General Electric VAC Generators, which we use in and around our yards, and on our trackage.
Thse Terexs don sound healthy to me, the engines sound as if they are goig to blow p.Surelye cant hav along working le revving so hard
have a look at the poor prick bouncing his guts out, these old scrapers stuffed up lo lot of blokes backs, probably one of the worst scrapers ever made, anything painted green wasnt much good, a smelly GM screaming in your ears all day, the heat coming of the engine and exhaust pipe, no cushion hitch, no power down bowl, bring back bad memories
