Yes, you have really tapped into a true fear. Millions of women watch CZcams and then try the same techniques, often times we fail and that can feel really frustrating. The use of filters is sometimes to blame and should be required to be disclosed.
Agreed, also if they’ve had procedures because no matter how hard you try you’ll never get it right if you haven’t had the same procedures. Your makeup will not,in a million years, look like theirs.
I agree with disclosing if they have a filter on !!!
Lighting used for filming makes the skin look so much better!
Filters and bright lights for sure
This idea is EVERYTHING!!!!!!!! THANKYOU!!!! This series is going to be a Game Changer!!!!!! 💕💗🩷💕💗🩷 Perfection!!!!
Yayyyy!! 🎉💕 THANK YOU!! 🥹🥰
I agree. I said out loud *YES* without even realizing or worrying about anyone hearing me 😂 when she started talking about fear of makeup. Home run for sure on this one @Allie Glines ....as ALWAYS! Everything you present is always well thought out & *VERY INFORMATIVE* !!! Thank you so much for all your hard work!!!
Love & Hugs,
Stephanie from Kentucky ❤️
Thanks, Allie. I have an irrational fear of:
Contour
Bronzer
Eyelash Curlers
😅 😂
I chopped off half my lashes on each eye with an old eyelash curler when I was 15. 30+ years later, I still refuse to use one...
Eyelash curlers are scary!!
@@gasparinha Oh no! That is my big fear!!!
@petra1995 They sure are! Luckily, my lashes aren't stick straight, so I can get away without using one.
😊
I’m scared of lash curlers too, one time I pinched a clients eyelid skin, I could have died, turned me right off using them
Skincare soaking in in the morning pre makeup has changed my game.
That’s the key. It prevents the peeling that would happen if you don’t give it enough time to absorb.
how long do you let it soak in? I'm really trying to cut down on how long I get ready in the morning 😂
@@natnguyen4052I think 10 minutes, 15 minutes if you have the time. I put mine on right quick and then make/drink some ☕ coffee. Then, I finish putting on my makeup. That's just my opinion on it. I hope that helped. ✌️🤙
Sincerely,
Steph 🧡💜❤
This was an absolute Masterclass!!! Wow, thank you so much. As someone who doesn't like to use foundation, even just the concealer and color correction made such a big difference!!
I loved this video! I am 45 and never really had anyone show me how to properly apply makeup. For this reason, I am still very hesitant about applying makeup correctly in a flattering way. Thank you for this video!
I’m 46 and same!
I'm 43 and feel the same way!
48 here. Trying to learn to look my best in my mirror. ;)
I am so excited to see this type of vid again!! I think now this is what's missing in the space. Reviews are fine, but then ppl starting out really don't know proper ways to apply everything. I'm way too excited for this series! Even someone like myself who is 37 and has worked in the beauty industry I feel we can always learn more from watching others techniques. Thin layers always and I'm so happy you said primers can cause issues, that was always my struggle until I realized I really don't need primer. Broke me out , and looked worse not better. But using a makeup setting mist like all nighter over skincare prep as a primer for more combo oily skin is amazing tip.
I miss tutorials on this platform so this gets me excited.
Same! I had never used primers and was always complimented on my makeup- drugstore foundation and all. I paused my makeup routine after having a baby... tried picking it back up when he started school and I returned to work. Realised my tastes in makeup style changed, as well as my skin and face in general- it was like I was a whole new, unfamiliar canvas. Went back to the drawing board, i.e. tutorials. Everyone insisted on this and that, with primers being the "MUST" in makeup routine. I tried all of the raves, from ELF putty to Benefit Pore fessional, Milk, Smashbox, etc etc and not a single one worked with a single foundation that I used, so I went back to basics and skip the primer. I'm about to turn 38, my son is now 15... and yet I'm still trying to figure it all out! It's so much harder now because I have fine lines on the forehead and my skin texture is more apparent than ever. I'd love to just skip the foundation all together but I have a lot of extreme redness on the nose (yet I never drink alcohol) and feel like the level of coverage required for that alone would look weird on an otherwise bare face? I don't know. I'm at a loss which is why I'm here! Haha. Looking forward to this series!
I actually would love to see a similar eye look on you sometime 🤩 we never see you with dramatic liner, and while I know it's not your preference OR comfort level, I kinda love it! What a great idea for a series, Allie! Other content creators could learn a thing or 2 from you 💪
Came here to same the same thing about an excellent wing application
I feel so confident since I finally found a foundation match to my really fair skin. All drugstore base products are always way to dark and I was so happy when I discovered the skin-tone range in high-end products and that I could try them in a store with a professional to really find a match. My go-to base product is the nars tinted mosturizer in the lightest shade. Thank you for this video concept Allie!
Tell me, a fellow pale person, what foundation are you taking about?
I never wore foundation when I was younger because they simply didn't make them. It wasn't until they started making super dark shades that they also started making super fair ones. When I was a teen no one made them. Dark or light.
@@madeline9668 Nars tinted moisterizer in Terreneuve and the light reflecting foundation in Oslo
NOW COME ONNNNNN! PRODUCTION, 30 seconds in and i’m obsessed
We’re working overtime for you!! 😅 So glad you love it!! ❤️ xoxo
Yes! Finding the right shade color is a dilemma. Thank you!
Looking forward to bronzer and contour. I have a very round, puffy face with really no jawline and I just skip these because I can’t figure it out.
Love this new series! So excited to see more! 🥰💖🫶🏻
I recently started watching all of your older videos when you were frequently trying out new ColourPop pallets, etc., and then I watch this series. You've come SO far! And I really like the direction you're going.
My fears is why I'm protective of my preteen that's dabbling in makeup recently. We've talked tone, shade, and placement. She has a great completion but likes a little concealer under and around her eyes for a nice base. (I love this! Sometimes less is more) She also LOVES highlight. She has the world to learn from that I didn't have. I didn't have a big sister either, and my mom only ever wore mascara and lipstick. It was a live and learn journey for me. She's thankful for youtube and has me... I've been wearing makeup for 20+ years and have been using CZcams for 15 years to learn new products and new techniques. These newer generations are so lucky to skip the trauma makeup can cause. Lmao!
This series is what's missing from what I've seen. Some have tried, but they are old and no way to be found unless you know where to look.
This is a great tutorial Allie! I can't wait for the rest because I always love your down to earth beauty looks. Thank you!
Love this!! Thank you sooooo much!! I’ll be rewatching this over and over again!!❤️❤️❤️
I love this new series! Such a great idea. This might be the most thorough and well produced makeup walk thru I’ve ever seen. This is your masterclass and I am so here for it! I can’t wait to see the other videos in this series, thank you for the great content ❤
Thank you SO MUCH for making this video! I learned so much and I’m looking forward to seeing the remainder of the series!!!
This was amazing! And the way you presented it all was just so perfect and clear. Thank you! Please do more of these!
Omg Allieeeeeee love this series. I think contouring is a huge fear of mine. Huge huge huge.
OMG!!! I love this series of videos. 😍 Please please continue. I need that for every category. 🙏☺️
Thank you for sharing your experience and tricks and tips . I can’t wait for the rest of the series
I’ve been watching your channel for a while and I’ve already learned so much with you, I can’t wait for the rest of this series and more tips and tricks for flawless makeup! Thank you sooo much for your content🥰
Thank you Allie love how you explained everything see you soon ❤
This is so incredibly useful! Thank you for sharing such in-depth information. I feel like I’ve been waiting for a series like this for so long. My makeup game is going to change immediately!
Loved this Allie. Thank you♥️
Hi allie I struggled with acne prone skin as a teenager which made me feel insecure for a long time about wearing makeup , as I became an adult & through my early 20s it cleared up & I get less now which makes me feel less insecure & more confident about wearing makeup on my face .
I'm so very excited about this series of videos. Makeup fear is so very real. I've already learned new tips. Thanks ❤️
I am SO excited for this series! I cant wait! I am especially excited about blending, being blush blending but specially eyeshadow blending. My eyeshadow palettes are collecting dust because even tho i get excited and buy them, i end up not using them bc they look muddy and unblended when i try them. Thank you Allie!
Allie! This is so wonderful! This is going to be a such a great series I know it! Keep this up and I can’t wait for part 2! Thank you! ❤
WOW! This was GREAT! I can’t wait for part 2! 👏🏼😍 Thank you so much, Allie!! 💕
This was soooo helpful!! Please continue this series, I loved it!
What a great series! Thank you, Allie! 💖
Great first episode of your new series!! Really very well done. Thank you 🌻
Thank you so much❤❤❤ I will definitely be rewatching this many times as I am doing my makeup 😊
Hello from Amsterdam. 🙋♀Just wanted to say that I've been following you for years now and I thought you already taught me so much. But you surprised me with this video. Love it!! Can't wait for part 2.
Thank you for this series!❤❤❤❤
Wow…love this video! I love the idea of doing a series on this. So much useful info here…I wish something like this existed when I was a teen! So many will benefit from learning from you.
Ive been wearing makeup for over 15 years, and this is such a beautifully done guide to doing your makeup. Sometimes i dont think of these steps and i love the reminder. You are such a great teacher.
Love this! I've always felt so intimidated by foundation, so this is terrific. Can't wait to see your other videos!!
This is so helpful, Thank you! Really appreciate that you are explaining & doing this on yourself so we can see in real-time what is or isn't working. Love your channel!
Looking foward for your makeup tips.
Wonderful idea for a series Allie. I really enjoyed this first video …really Great! Looking forward to the next😉
im 17 and have been struggling with cakiness and creasing and such for a couple years, experimenting with makeup. i never leave the house in it because its just so obvious. it really is intimidating and honestly makes me wanna just not even do it out of fear of accentuating what im trying to hide. thank you so much for this, i really look forward to the series. i saw your elf video a few days ago and have been watching you ever since because you ACTUALLY know what you’re talking about.
I am so excited for more videos of this series!
I am going to love this series I just know it! Thank you Allie.
Loved this. Looking forward to what’s to come. I’m 65 and I still need all the help I can get. Thanks Allie! ❤
Absolutely great video. Never get tired of going back to basics. Can't wait for your future videos. I always learn something new🥰
This is very helpful and you are so well spoken. Thank you Allie 😊💕
Allie! I'm so excited for this series!! I used to wear makeup daily and was very confident with whatever I did. I was a regular visitor at the MAC & Benefit counters, always learning and buying new products. When I became ill, diagnosed with terminal Leukemia, I could no longer work or leave my house much at all. My makeup skills began to dwindle to the point of feeling like I no longer had a clue how to do my makeup properly any longer and rarely, if ever, wanted to just play with it to help myself do it well again or have it come naturally like it used to. I always want to look my best on the rare occasions I'm going out and I'm so happy to re learn everything as if I were a beginner! Thank you so much for this!💗💗1million subs definitely coming soon!!🎉💄⌛🍾🥂
I just have to say that the color of your shirt really brings out your eyes! Wow! 💕
This is a great series!! So helpful!! Keep up the great work!! Loved this!!
Thank you Allie as this series is a game changer for all ages! Skincare is truly important and I tend not use primer so I’m excited. Also I absolutely use your lipsticks everyday! Love you and excited for the next tutorial…
I LOVE this idea!! I’m so excited! I’ve never been a makeup girly but I feel I like I’ve never really be taught. Been watching you for a few years now and you are my makeup GURU! Would you also consider doing a series on skin care as well? I feel like I don’t know how to do serums and acids correctly and I would LOVE a how to on that as well! 😍
I love this in-depth approach!!!❤
I am returning to makeup after a long time of not wearing any (rough times), and I am loving going back to basics with you!!! Subscribed to see the whole series!
As someone who’s afraid of makeup, and who has watched you for years… THANK YOU FOR THIS SERIES.
I am so excited for this series! 🎉Any tips and tricks for aging skin would be great!! ❤
This is amazing Allie!!! You sounds like a pro!! Love all the tips! Your skins looks incredible!!! I'm exited for this series!!! Much love from Brazil 💚
I'm so excited for this series!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I love that you are doing this series!! I’m obsessed with makeup but always am looking to improve and make it look good in person like you said❤❤❤❤. Looking forward to the next episode!!
If you have a chance can you talk about lighting more! Like what kind of light you should do your makeup in and what to avoid.
Thanks
I appreciate you starting this series so much!! 🙌🏼 there are so many things I avoid because I’m either scared of or can’t get to look “good enough”. It’s sad that we all have makeup fears because if we’re truly happy with it, then it shouldn’t matter what anyone else thinks, what’s popular at the time, the makeup trends, etc.
I’m so looking forward to more of this!!
Also, what shade are you in the Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer? I’m also Mont Blanc in the foundation, so I think the concealer shade you use will be great for me to cover blemishes. Such an awesome tip that I’ve never thought of! I can’t wait to try it!!
Love you so much Allie!! 🫶🏼💖💖
This is So helpful! Thank you! A whole series of base makeup I’m sure would be amazing.
Brilliant video ❤ I'm not scared per se but I've lost confidence. A really comprehensive set of tips and tricks. Thank you
You are seriously amazing! Absolutely loved your video. I will definitely follow this series ❤
I'm so happy about this series!!
Thank you so much Allie for posting this video! I have been dealing with so much redness, inflammation and texture, and dry patches around my nose and mouth during my pregnancy. Your tip of correcting redness with concealer under foundation has made all the difference, especially around my nose! Please never stop doing makeup!
What an awesome idea for a series! I’m most afraid of my makeup making me look older. I’m almost 50 and concealer is not my friend anymore. I am trying to have a lighter hand these days but it’s hard to know how to accept my wrinkles and skin changes and not make them worse with product.
I’m excited for this series!!!!
Makeup is exciting and fun but I’m definitely scared most of the time 😅
Thank you for this series. I am loving this so much all ready. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!! ❤
Love your channel Allie! This is an awesome video idea ❤
I needed this video so bad!!! Thanks Allie!!
Yes girl this was so good and I also create videos like this for my audience. You’re so easy to watch and listen to. Loved it!!!
Thank you so much for this series Allie! I tried a few of these methods and felt so much more confident about my application and how my skin looked
Yesss!!! You are a blessing to the CZcams makeup world! Most channels only provide a tutorial with a very specific type of look. I love how this is generalized, covers technique on how to apply, and even covers my concerns about shopping for products. I'm planning to do my own makeup for my wedding, and your videos have already helped me so much to build my confidence. Looking forward to more videos in this series!
Your comment made my whole week!! 💕❤️ Thank you for all your love and support. 🥰 Love you!! xoxo
Hi Allie!
Just wanted to tell you, that the way you have taught us to do make up all these years, I have picked up so many of your tips. I've been following you since 2016/2017. And now, my make up looks great, as a classical dancer, I need to look completely set in my make up, and I do this trick of yours where I apply highlighter on my cheeks first and then blush. Can't tell you real and flawless and glowy from within, I look. Thank you Allie for keeping it real. Love you💜
Amazing video Allie!
I can't stress it enough to my clients that are scared of foundation that it's actually protecting the skin bc new formulas can be lightweight and nourishing and our air quality here is atrocious....
Love this series! Can't wait to share with my skincare -loving granddaughter !!
I don’t think olive under stone is talked about enough. I have an olive undertone and in my experience it’s it’s own undertone, not one that fits in the warm category. I tend to go for neutral undertones since most brands don’t formulate olive undertones, or if they do they can actually pull way too green. And if you also have olive undertone like me, you might find even neutral pulls too yellow. Recently I started taking the blue color corrector from elf and adding a couple small dots to my foundation and it makes nearly the perfect undertone for me.
Excited for this series. It’s always nice to go back to the basics. Very well done! P.S. would love to see you review the new Mario satin lipsticks. They are my biggest obsession right now.
You are helping with the color choice and matching foundation. Thank you 🙏
Thank you so much! I LOVE these educational videos
Thank you for this series! Such great information! Skin care and prep does make all the difference 😊❤
What a lovely series Allie 🥰
This is sooo helpful!! I can’t wait for the rest!
I learned so much from this video! Thank you, Allie, for making this series! This is going to help so many people. ❤👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you Allie! Love your videos. They are so helpful. 😊
I need a part 2 of this 😊. It's hard to find drugstore makeup for me that is for dry skin, peachy undertone and fair to light with a light to medium coverage. They are always either out of stock or it looks like it would work and get it home and it's still either to light or to deep for me.
Thank you for this video! I have used bare minerals powder foundation for years and never any concealer. But ive been trying to get into liquid foundation. This video really helps!
I have also only used bare minerals for years and only occasionally even then. But now that I am 51 I feel like I can't use a powder foundation any more and feel like I have to start fro scratch which is scary to me. I'm loving the idea of this series but I also know that I have to make the time and find the patience to learn liquid foundation.
Thank you Allie for this great video. The basics of makeup, I love🤩🤩🤩
What a fantastic idea for videos! Im so excited to watch 😊
I love your eyeshadow on the overdone look
Oh Allie, you’re such a breath of fresh air!! Thank you! This idea is AMAZING❣️❣️❣️
So excited for this series!
What a creative idea! Thank you Allie! Incredibly informative!
Awesome just what I’ve been looking for ❤
This will be a very helpful series! Thank you!
I love this idea for a more behind the scenes kind of instructional videos!!! Thank you so much! I learned a lot already and can’t wait for future episodes; please don’t just make 2. 😅
Contour is hard for me given I have medium skin tone and then also the use of bronzer. Not to mention getting a good eye liner line 😂
Love this new series
