Always try to take photos of your line at HT or video for proof who is in the line first!! Waiting 5 hours etc and people cut I would of panicked 😆
I did that before and it didn’t work . There was a group of 3 ppl accusing me of cutting the line . I was waiting from 4am and security let me inside the mall at 6😭. So ht ended up canceling the drop . It suck because I. Drove for 2 hrs to get to that store
Where I live at, people get in the malls however the can, no matter the time. No one complains about it. We just do it, and that’s it. Whoever gets there first, gets there.

Hot Topic is crap. Their first come first serve is awful. I'm a manager for Target and I always take the exclusives and keep them behind the desk and look to see who's standing outside so.i know who to give them to.

hopefully captainpops feels better soon. Sucks about the drop. I'm just glad the store wasnt trashed like the previous HT. theres always a few bad apples that ruin it for everyone. Handing tickets outside the mall helps reduce alot of issues. At least two Security should be stationed outside these stores on major drops/restocks. I would be 100% fine if they didnt use the employee entrance to cut in line and just waited outside like everyone else.
I woulda destroyed those funkos the cutters in line got… if you won’t play by the rules…. Everyone loses

Ya it happen at my hot topic big release too :( 2 people went in the employee entrance cause one of them worked there and i was behind the person that got the last chase :( ...it was more salt to find out about the line hoppers after i got home cause i had waited outside for 3 hours outside the normal 1st door only for them to open the other entrance 1st so i thought everyone had just came in the other door....it was a sad day.
I been lucky with chases online with restocks so I been focused on that lately until my luck runs out 😂

This happened with at my local mall except there were no chases and like 3 commons. But we still complained and they didn't come back for the actual chase release.

There's too many scalpers in my city and we only have 1 boxlunch and 1 hot topic so I don't even bother going to the mall for drops. Last time I went the line was from inside the mall-in front of BoxLunch- all the way outside.
Failed on gyomei but did manage to find a common on whatnot

My HT and BL dont put up with stuff like that, they come out and pass tickets outside since people they know people try to get in
my hot topic is like that everytime, some guy used to get all the chases there because he knew the manager.. i complained about it and its gotten a little better but i still see the dude getting chases a day before they announce the pops are available... the guy tags himself with hot topic on instagram lol not even trying to hide the fact they swindling
Yeah had that happen during NYCC when they were releasing mr compress basically was waiting there from seven in the morning and as soon as we got in there was 7 people waiting in front of the store. God I was pissed thank god I got what I wanted or I was going to cry.
Its not a Hot Topic vs BoxLunch thing. Its mostly up to the staff to decide how they want to run it as far as I can tell. A couple of weeks ago at my location people snuck into the mall for the Twice Chase but got kicked to the back of the line after security let the rest of us in. All depends...
Sucks to hear that for the people who got there extra early. My local Hot Topics normally have a few security guards patrolling and every line I have been in every one is pretty chill though I’ve only started collecting late 2020

I believe that all hot topics/box lunch should have a designated opening area outside the mall to line up so nobody is able to skip.
Some stores do but some don't care unfortunately.

I got an azula glow chase yesterday from big apple such a great pop, and today I was able to pick up funko shop deku on the restock super pumped about that also my overhaul came in what a great sculpt on him although the paint is more than a lil rough

Couldnt you report them? The hottopics at the malls here in ohio prohibit employees from buying drops the day they release and especially chases. They could get in a lot of trouble for that.
I think a friend reported them recently.
They should save the chases for genuine fans instead of resellers that line up at the door

This is becoming an issue to be honest, Top Pops posted drama as well trying to get those chases, as for my HT, We literally have a Pop Mafia who goes in line bully people to a point guns been pulled before, this will just get worst, It just take one dumb person to messed it all up. I hope HT or Funko changes there policies to the better
They should just stop selling chases at the physical stores and leave them all for the online release.
Sounds like the manager at the HT might be friends with the employees that cut the line since no one else does it that way.
