    Waters over Selwood and Watson... I just cannot fathom this. Enjoy the rest of the season. Take it easy.

    His Head wasn't over the ball, he grabed the ball & then started to run with it.

    whats your point? his head was still over the ball. Watson is the one playing the ball, Waters was playing the man. Gotta protect the ball players

    free kick at the most, and the kick got all it deserved.

    actually the average afl career is closer to 3 years. The AFL needs to reduce concussions because it has a duty of care to the players and will probably have to start using their own medical staff to decide if a player has been concussed and then not allow him back on the field. There is plenty of research to suggest repeated concussions can cause delayed neurological disorders. The AFL are not stupid, they do not want to be sued for millions like the NFL is at the moment

    And his Head wasn't over the ball.

    I go for Essendon and the MRP was right to clear him. This wasn't a bump. It was mutually caused contact where Jobe came off second best.

    Someone should change them back, there is no reason why a new CEO couldn't change them back.

  • @ncarter7
    @ncarter7 Před 12 lety

    you dont seem to understand the afl want to minimize concussions because its been shown the long term effects of repeated concussions can cause death. Then they will get ex players/families seeking million dollar compensations

    The guy who became a paraplegic it wasn't a Bump that did it, it was a accidental collision. And Blake Caracella he had a un diagnosed small spinal column, he shouldn't of even been playing contact sport. He was vulnerable to getting injured easier.
    & it wasn't a legal Bump on Caracella. Caracella is the only person that that has happened to in 116 years & he was vulnerable to injury. There hasn't been one reason to change the rules.

    It's what football is all about. But in the end, Beau Waters is a bum and Jobe is leagues ahead.

  • @Alby911
    @Alby911 Před 12 lety

    That's your opinion, fine. But I'll take Chris Scott's word over some armchair expert. By the sounds of it, you'd pick Beau Waters over Selwood and Watson... I think you're onto something. *insert sarcasm*

    It's plain simple logic. As decent as Beau is, he ain't no game winner, or leader. And to pick Beau over two(probably more in your eyes) AA-Grade players, tells me you don't follow the game all that closely.

  • @joelmorris6807
    @joelmorris6807 Před 12 lety

    There 2 different players. Beau isn't the posession type like Jobe is but i bet you Jobe isn't as tough as beau.

  • @withersn
    @withersn Před 12 lety

    Yes their has man, can't remember his name but a doggies player became paraplegic from a bump in the 70's or something and then of course caracella a few years back. The whole protecting someone with their head over the ball came from the caracella incident, but I certainly agree that the game is too soft these days, btw you have a bizarre idea of what words require capitals

  • @ncarter7
    @ncarter7 Před 13 lety

    @ipsilon160 what i was trying to say is your logic is flawed. Anyone who puts their head over the ball doesnt deserve to be knocked out. You cant make front on contact anymore, the head is meant to be sacrosanct. Waters is very lucky. This is not too dissimiliar to the Lloyd bump on Sewell a few years back and Lloyd got 4 weeks. I would like to see more hips and shoulders let go but the AFL cant allow that because repitive concussions are good for no-one.

  • @nictothenat
    @nictothenat Před 12 lety

    Thats a load of crap i reckon. I think the AFL should just make any player that wants to put up to the draft and on a current list sign contracts & documents to say the onus is on the player for any kind of future brain damage. They should then give the players a certain % increase in wages and thats that. Then whoever wants to play on can do so and those that are scared for their health can choose another profession. I guarantee 99% will stay.

  • @Alby911
    @Alby911 Před 12 lety

    Well, you've given me the impression that Waters is your poster boy and is above Selwood and Watson, simply because he's the bravest. Come to think it... Jonathan Brown takes that crown.
    ps. I crunch numbers at work and this is where I come to vent.

    @jonniedwards
    He had the ball in his hands for 0.3 of a SECOND! If he were to tackle him he would of been going for the man, because he would of made his mind up way before that. He obviously didn't do that because if Watson didn't get the ball he'd be done for holding the man. Justice served as it was thrown out, as it should have been, finally ONE correct decision from the AFL this year.

    It doesnt matter where the might pies are on the ladder first or second last ( they cant finish last because essenscum hold that ) they are always better that your feral team essenscum you wait till your team doesnt make finals or gets kicked out in an elimination final by a hundred ponits so while your feral ass is crying over your beloved essenscum ill be laughing and enjoying the pies success
