I am now 75. I remember left Jesus in 1988. I had a failing marriage but I prayed constantly for years and husband kept getting worse. And I began to loose faith. And then one day shouted out loud. You don’t love me and then I heard a voice saying I am here. But you need to take Sherry and move to Baytown Texas and I did. Already had a job there. And j. Lee helped us to move into an apt. Got a divorce in 1990. And found Jesus in 2005. 15 but He was still looking after me. I am gonna see Jesus revolution this week. But watch the Chosen over and over again.
I found the group Love song in 1976. It was the first Christian music album that I had ever listened to at that time since then God has allowed me to have many adventures but if I ever need to focus on who the Lord is and who he wants to be in each of our lives listening to the love song album of welcome back helps me remember sweet memories of when things were a little bit more simple I know Chuck Smith has gone on to Glory may God continue to bless others with the ministry of Love song their songs are ageless.
Neighbors 7 houses down in Puerto Rico, 1973, had the recording of Love Song on a record 33 long playing album & I'd go over just to hear it again & again. I had just accepted Jesus into my heart to stay & received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. I'm now almost 56 years old & still sing to our Savior & have Chuck Girard to thank for the timeless songs of praise & truth.
@odette Time slips & rather rushes like an untamable River headed to a waterfall. In Heaven:::::no more time or age, just Eternal Joy & Glory, Magnifying The Lord of Lord’s & King of King’s. Amen & Shalom
This is absolutely priceless! To see a beautiful Woman of God and a wonderful Man of God such as Kathryn Kuhlman and Chuck Smith sitting together and talking about the things of God with the original "Jesus Freaks" of the Jesus Movement is beyond measure. And to see the love and unity that they had together in just loving Jesus is beautiful beyond words. Thank you for posting this!
I was there in the early ‘70’s, I was a flower child. I loved all the hippies flocking in to the love of Jesus with their ripped-up jeans, bare feet and love beads. Everybody quietly pointed to the sky instead of clapping. There was such a holy hush.
SandySeashellBeaches Sister Sandy I have now come to believe that what Pastor Chuck Smith, and the founders of Calvary Chapel along with many many countless others did was more than just a movement or a revival but rather an awaking. I believe and I will argue that what happened during that particular time period was the forth great awaking in the history of American Christianity.
@@traviskarnes6825 Gotta agree with you on an “awakening” I believe also that is just what it was. I got “saved/born again” through the “Teen Challenge” ministries in Cucamonga in Nov. of ‘69 and we went a couple times a month to CC to attend the services. If you noticed Lonny Frisbee in the audience he did the preaching at the youth services at CC. A few years back I had wondered what happened to him...I googled him up and discovered he’d died of “AIDS”, sad story for sure. Being a babe in Christ, I had become disillusioned with a lot of the doctrinal teaching concerning Salvation, Holy Sprit, Tongues in this “movement”, so thus I had backslid for quite a number of years, but God in his infinite mercy who had never left me nor forsook me, relocated me out of California to Colorado and allowed me the grace to “get my heart right” with Him. God is good! These day I attend an Independent Fundamental Baptist Church (not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together) I’m a huge believer in sound doctrine....I still pray, Lord let revival begin w/ me!
Wow! So glad I stumbled across this one. I saw Love Song in 72 when they were the "house band" at Calvary, singing in the tent. I still have their first album.
I think of the hymns that we sing today~~~ they were not thought to be very spiritual. If you've never read the story of Chuck Smith you should read it. It tells of how he invited these hippies in to sing and he gave them an audition. They sang welcome back which brought him to tears. His answer ~~~~you can sing whatever song God has given you. You are anointed and I enjoy your singing and I'm sure my church WIll as well
I grew up listening to all of this music and never knew who they were I just liked the music I love this music over the last 15-20 years I’ve learned music about the music that made me
This song I dedicated to my brother over 10 years ago AND You took It out. Joel I love you Bro, I know your in heaven. now. What ever happens today no one will not change my heart AND I wont be prisoner of none.
I became a Christian in 1974. My church was in Upland, but I visited Calvary Chapel one weekend, and they said, "We have a guest in the audience, maybe we can persuade him to get up and sing a couple songs... and Andre Crouch got up and sang "How Can I Say Thanks" and a couple others. It was awesome. My buddy Chad and I used to sing "Little Country Church" at our little church Life Bible Fellowship. Thanks for this memory.
Wow, this is EARLY. It must predate their appearance on the Explo72 album. What a awesome find. Three cheers for some packrat keeping the original broadcast tape.
I was there when Love Song was coming up. The sweetest time in my life. This song particularly, is the one that has stayed cradled in my heart for the 49 years since. I love Chuck Smith and Katherine Khulman here, too; they were the ones who welcomed all the barefoot, long haired, ripped-up jeans, love-bead clad hippies, I among them, when all the religious organizations were gasping in horror, “their bare feet will ruin the carpets!” so Chuck ripped all the carpets out! I remember, we all pointed to the sky in silence when songs were through, you could hear a pin drop and everybody looked around at each other in the sheer pleasure and happiness of that quiet moment which spoke, Jesus is the only way. I was just an 11-year-old flower child back then. I felt so welcome. Thank you for posting this precious, precious video, it carries such nostalgia for me, it hurts. It makes me more homesick for heaven than ever because I understand now much more than I did then, that this world is not my home.
I saw him for the first time in El Monte, California. Him and the band was playing at a Christian coffee house 😂😂. Love his music 🎶🎶🎵 I have his album.. Used to listen to it all the time. But not any more. Gave up on the Christian faith. A long time ago .
chuck, so open, so vulnerable - great pioneer with a number of BRAVE others who DARED to sing, perform, give and write for the Lord God. Gdd's love remans!
True love for Jesus came from the teens and twentysomethings that came to the Lord at this time. Sure some went back and walked no more with the Lord, but that is true in every time. As long as those people are alive there is still room for repentance. God grant it that they will turn to him. What beautiful kids!
I had no idea Katherine Kulman was with Chuck Smith in a service. To top it off it was with Chuck Girard band. What a blessing to have them minister & see her so blessed from it. Love this video🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
If you guys like this you should watch “first love”. Its got these guys and honeytree and second chapter of acts… all these guys back together and reminiscing and singing.
Wow! ... I first heard this song at the end of 78-79' (I think) and to hear and see footage from that time is priceless... and to see Kathryn Kuhlman in the audience?? I agree what an awesome 'live' performance!!!
Had Love song album on my 8 track ,that was after 4 track.lol! About wore out the tape or rubber wheele. BEAUTIFUL LONG WAVE , DEEP WATER WORSHIP AND GREAT CHOPPY SHALLOW WATER WORSHIP. LOVE IT ALL!!! Was in my 20's
AH, THIS GOES BACK A LITTLE FARTHER THEN THAT. THIS IS AT THE START OF ;LOVE SONG'. MORE LIKE ...1971..!!! I thought it was a great song at first but when he says you never were the untruthful kind is not true we have all lied there for we have all been the untruthful kind.
You look at your Pastor in the face with such confidence and say "Father, I play Christ metal." and the father says "The very stereotypical metal that has Jesus upside down, on a cross burning at certain times?" "Yes father the very same, it is true." "Well then, son only God can save you at this time, and let us pray he can forgive you, and spare your eternal soul for your sins my son."

Where do you lived in Puerto Rico? I wonder if it was me , playing the music of Love Song. I'm wondering.
Praise the Lord beautiful and listening in 2023 ❤️💛🖤💚🙏🔥🤛
I was in the Jesus movement on the east coast in the 1970's I remember this song so well...
I had all the records when I was a 10 years old in Puerto Rico. The revolution also hit Puerto Rico .I was saved in 1970. Glorious move of God.
To God be the glory!
We are blessed to have Chuck Girards music for the past 30 years... it is truly anointed of God.
Praise the Lord. This song is meant for all of us.

American needs another Jesus Movement. There is no way to describe what it was like.I'm so glad I was part of it.

Chuck Girard has an AWESOME VOICE!
Absolutely beautiful harmony! 🥰
Still as impactful today as it was all those years ago. "...him that comes to me I will in no wise cast out..." Thank you God!
What a wonderful time it was to be living back then.
Wow I’m weeping…. What a testimony! What a song!!!

Its from the starting years of modern church worship and the "Calvary Chapel" Movement. Pastor Chuck Smith does the announcement!
I very very much needed to hear that right now......thankyou.
The beginning of the movement of God with those who were so lost and welcoming back to His heart....
