The name of the song has everything to do with Pee-wee's playhouse
"I don't listen to Tool".
You need to correct that situation right the hell now.
that guitar effect is called a Talk Box. You use it with a little pipe beside the microphone, and you use your mouth while playing the guitar to make the different sounds.
I think Foo Fighters has a music video where you can see them using it. The song is called Generator if I'm not mistaken
He combined that with a wah wah pedal
do you feel like i do?
Once you hear it, you cannot unhear it. I've liked them since the 90's when I watched Beavis and Butthead on MTV while doing homework. I took my mom to the concert last year and the music is still the best in class.
Your mom rocks
Did she like it?
@@Steven-lb4bl She said "Scott, I love you and I was going to tolerate this, but I fucking loved it!"
@@scottmayo7545 cool mom
Niceeeeee, that's when I 1st heard them too. I believe butthead said about the guy in the video, " if I could move my arm like that I'd never leave the house" and it still makes me laugh. Mike judge is a gangta
Adam’s using a talk box with the guitar…. Ironically, so does Bon Jovi.😂
Bon Jambi
The effect on the guitar is called a Talkbox. The same effect that Peter Frampton used. From my understanding, there is a guitar sound sent to the Talkbox, which is then sent up through a rubber tube into the guitar players mouth which can alter the guitar sound to create the desired effect. Maynard also has several vocal effects on his mic that he can use.
Stank face engaged at the drop. Reaction approved
Great intro, Matt. Jambi is def the Tooliest Tool that ever Tooled!
This is my favorite TOOL song of all time! Great reaction guys!
It's a great song!
That's a tough call..
And for a fun one I think y’all should do Lipan/Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned. At least put it in the front burner. That’s S-tier for Tool😆
Stank face is always the dead giveaway
Pushit live from Salival is what you need!!!
The song was actually named after Jambi from Peewee's Playhouse. Maynard said that guitar part sounded like Jambi.
The fact that you knew that reference!!!!
I grew up watching Pee Wee’s Playhouse. 😆
Greatest band ever❤
My fave..... absolute genius of a song... 9/8 timing rock song... wow
And that 9 is being divided in every way possible
Start digging into Maynard’s lyrics at some point, he’s the 🐐!
I'm fine waiting for Tool music. They have so many good songs that I never get tired of listening to old songs
Whatever TOOL song you guys react to next I will 100% be there, but if I was to recommend one please react to Descending from the Fear Innoculum album.
You guys should do "lost keys" and "Rosetta Stoned" 😊
Great reaction. Reading the lyrics is next level.
The guitarist usd a talk box in the solo. I believe Peter Frampton and bon Jovi also used a talk box.
I lost my Jennifer many years ago...but this song cut straight to the core. There isn't a single thing I wouldn't change or swap for just one more minute to be with her
That's really sad 😢 It sucks man
You'll be with Jennifer again though so keep that in mind
Adam was using a talk-box on this track, something which he got advice on how to use it from Joe Walsh (legendary guitarist with James Gang, Eagles, and solo)
Vicarious has almost the same sound as Jambi, they flow so well together
My favorite song, when I saw them in Toronto Alex Lifeson of Rush joined them on stage to play lead. Unfortunately they did not play the talkbox portion.
Fuck yeah! Awesome reaction guys
It sounds like the correct way to use the "wah". Love the Wah.
Listening to either Tool or Deftones on shrooms is an experience everyone should have at least once in their lifetime.
Laturalus is the best
I had this album on repeat back in high school, alongside Lateralus, and this song was one of my favorites. Still is
Has no one ever told Mat rule #1 of music reactions?! Don't *EVER*, for any reason, pause during a solo
heard this live in November and it was amazing. yes adam uses the same thing framoton did to get that sound. I was like 10 yards away watching him do this.
My girlfriend had a spiritual experience when they played Jambi on Leap night 29th Feb 2020.
This song is so good in concert!
It’s called a “talk box” and, honestly, this is the F’ng Filthiest Talk Box work EVER.
Absolutel GOAT status.
Now on Chels and non-silent Bob react 😂 hahaha great song guys
It does have a relationship to Pee Wee's, when Justin first played the riff, Danny told him that it sounded like Jambi's theme from Pee Wee's playhouse. When Maynard wrote the lyrics he made Jambi as an Indonesian Prince.
That’s amazing and makes me love this song even more!
I’m not saying that this is the effect on Maynard’s with this song but Maynard is known for using a megaphone for some songs.
Love me some Tool. Is this really the first time you guys have heard this song? Where have you been? 😅 Liked and subbed. 🤘🏽
Jambi live - that's the shot :)
Maynard heard Justin's bass line and thought it sounded like jambis catchfrase. And went with it.
That's amazing!
pushit from the salival live album has my vote. Get ready for the spine tingles
The guitar solo was done with a talk box
The Grudge
The Grudge
The Grudge
They’ve done it already 👍✌️
Listen to this live, it goes a whole other level beyond the studio version
Would love to see yall do the Holy Trinity next of Disposition>Reflection>Triad
Most reactioners seem to do The Pot but Lateralus and Forty Six and Two are two of my favorites.
That bass slide!!!
It's my favorite tool song of 30+ years loving tool
Lateralus, Invincible, Jimmy, H, Descending, and on and on. Enjoy your Tool journey.
It is worth to wait for Tool album but 13 years was waaay to long😀
We are not enoght grateful with Tool. Just imagine when someone of this band died, and this they cannot give us another album to wait. Fucking sad thoght but real tho. We are bless linving this current life with Tool releasing albums. Great vid BTW.
🤘🏻🌀
Love that
2:15 Chels says i love Tool. Alot of people do.
I said it before, and I'll say it again. Greatest band that ever was. You guys should delve into their early stuff so as to appreciate their evolution. And yes, the wait for each new album is always worth it.👍😁🤘
First of all, I knownyou know the intro to The Pot, but if you want a beautifully crafted song, definitely do that one. . . Also 46 and 2, The Grudge, Push It (Both versions) and Opiate and Opiate².
Low-key one of their best tracks.
I love Tool to😂
You should do Third Eye from SALIVAL ALBUM!
It’s not over. Listen to whole album
Definitely need to listen to Vicarious and Invincible if you haven't yet. They both bang
Algo ❤
Love the PW reference! Also, lets not forget that Cowboy Curtis was played by Laurence Fishburne. :)
Tool for the win!
The pot. Love it
10,000 Days is prolly Tool's heaviest album. Lots of bottom end on this one.
Fat-bottom songs make the rockin world go round.
Fun reaction.
Look at her read the lyrics and you’ll understand it’s a love song.
Its a guitar talk box. the effect
That was the perfect intro, lol. Adam is using a talk box for the guitar solo in this song. You guys should go back and do something older like Undertow or Swamp Song next. It's interesting you bring up how long it takes them to write because I was recently reading about Paul, their original bass player, saying that was the reason he left the band.
Bottom is my absolute favorite Tool song. Would love to see what you two think.
Thank you for the tip! We'll definitely add that to the list of Tool songs to check out!
When they drop the time change break on this track, better be ready for your new diaper.
Yo, beautiful people, did you hear Rosetta stoned already?
Jambi is fav live performance, , melts my face every time.. given the days we are in ,you should listen to Aenima with lyrics next.
Got to see the show where the Judas Priest guitarist was a guest for this song. The harmonizing of their guitars was f777ing sick. Couldn’t hear a damn thing of the guys shred solo but it was awesome nonetheless 😆
If you like Tool and want a treat, check out Wheel - Lacking.
Check out a double play of the original Pushit, then the live remake of Pushit. Different in most ways, but both are amaze-balls.
It’s a megaphone changing his voice
I grew up watching PeeWee and am as OGT as Undertow missed Opiate as a preteen lol. Never heard this till now but in this reaction I actually hear “Mekka Lekka Hai” “Mekka Lekka Heiny Ho” in the talkbox solo now. That would be a very TOOL thing to do so I’m drinking that now.
CZcams: Babymetal x Electric Callboy!!
Mat & Chels: Tool is good.
Audience: ... yeah, actually. Tool is good.
Hope you guys are well, all my best to you 😋
We'll get to that as soon as we can! 😆
I vote for the grudge
Check out The Remedy-Puscifer Maynard 3rd project
It does have to do with Pee wee playhouse lol
Tool is the best Bnd ever
Have you listened to Right In Two yet?
I say Vicarious up next lol.
Done! czcams.com/video/Gc6wfSYpFNg/video.html
We also have a Tool playlist if that makes it easier.
Tool is the best band. Pink Floyd is hovering around them. The way I look at it is that Pink Floyd build the road and Tool patrols it
Tool went longer between albums than led zeppelin were a band.
Ear diarrea.
You should actually throw a dart at song picks
Never assume anything with Tool
Ok, this is for geeks. So sorry to everyone else. The song is based on 9/8. The intro is 3,2,2,2. But Adam Jones steals the song in what I believe to be a first among all music. The next riff is 1,_,_ 1,2,3,1,2,3 but your brain thinks those pauses are the break in the pattern. It's not true. But the pause in that pattern is strangely on the 2 and 3 of the first 123 pattern. So basically your ear hears 4,5,6,7,8,9,1, _, _ which isn't really what he's playing. After that, your mind can't really follow this. So you are blasted into what Tool wants you to feel. That is amazing.
Moin aus Schleswig-Holstein, ihr Amis.
👋
1:46 The riff sounds like Jambi’s mantra “meka Leka hi meka hiney Ho”
