Many people talk about how much the character of Matthew, as portrayed in The Chosen, resonates with them. For me, it is Thomas who I can relate to the most. His reluctance to take risks, as a result of his insecurities and his penchant to overthink everything, robs him of opportunities. That is my life in a nutshell. I am so grateful to the creative team behind The Chosen for imbuing their characters with such rich backstories. Unlike every other cinematic and televised adaptation that I have seen about Jesus and his Apostles, The Chosen really makes these figures believable and not mere abstractions used in service of a plot.

I have related most with Mary Magdalene in the season in my life that I started watching the show. It made me cry! I could never go by my real name and then something happened inside of me when I accept the Lord into my heart and started one day just using my real name! I didn’t want to do anything secular it didn’t feel right. One day I started watching the Chosen and I was so glad.

BEWARE
Basically when Jesus had an argument with the Pharisees, the crowd started trampling over each other and the disciples tried to get themselves and Jesus out of that place.
However, Thomas noticed Ramah wasn't with them and went back to get her when Quintis(who was about to loose his position if he didn't end what was happening with Jesus) was threatening the disciples by waving his sword around
And while Thomas was taking Ramah out of the situation Quintis accidently stabbed Ramah and killed her.....
Funny thing is in the beginning it seemed like she wasn't interested in him that way but just a friend and business partner. I was surprised but happy to see she actually likes him back. ❤

I love that this shows include couples both in early marriage years, long marriages, and the courting stage! This is very inspiring to enlighten the audience of Biblical relationships rather than how the secular world portrays love and marriage.
They are such a cute couple! I love the Chosen. It has helped me to see the Bible so much clearer.

@@simbarashekunedzimwe1372 You'd be right if The Chosen ever claimed to be copying scripture. They make it very clear it's a show based on the story of Jesus, and encourage viewers to read scripture for themselves. All the additional characters and stories are within plausibility, meaning that it's plausible that one of the disciples would have had a romantic connection with someone during Jesus' ministry.
@@youareloved1455 Film making of Scripture would obviously involve some PLAUSIBLE creativity, strongly reliant on direction of the scriptures, however, to form whole new doctrines, and weave stories that have no basis whatsoever, seems to now be taking liberty too far and the bible warns us from adding to it, as you well know. Again, it's just my 2 cents.
“JOIN ME, AND I'LL SHOW YOU A NEW WAY TO COUNT AND MEASURE.” Wow, indeed, The Chosen perfectly portrays the character of Thomas, in addition to Ramah as support for Thomas's characterization, from being a doubting caterer to becoming a faithful believer in Jesus despite the uncertainty. Can't wait for the continuation of their journey in Season Four and beyond!!!!

honestly, this has really highlighted how similar I am to Thomas. you can ask anyone I know and they’ll say that i’m a very literal and logical person. i can hardly do anything without thinking about every possible solution. it’s amazing to see how Ramah continues to rope him back to the reality that everything doesn’t need to have a solution. thank y’all for this!!!

These movies have been a life line for me. My Mother went to be with the Lord and it has been difficult for me. I bought the CDs so when I am feeling low I can put one in and get comforted by feeling that Jesus is with me. ❣️

Karren: Netflix only has Season 1. You can watch Seasons 1-3 on Peacock, Prime or The Chosen App. Season 4 premieres in theaters Feb 1st.
Chosen crew: I just want to say this on behalf of Jesus. I want to remind everyone: Jesus healed 100% of the people who were brought to Him in the Word. So having Him deny healing anyone is not a wise creative choice. So far, the creative choices haven’t totally gone against what the bible says, there have just been tasteful additions, but this really does just alter who Jesus is. This isn’t the Jesus we read about. It is written that He was only “unable” to do Miracles in His own hometown, Nazareth. Mark 6.
I’m very excited and absolutely love the creative additions to stories like Nicodemus, Thomas and Ramah’s relationship, Peter and Eden’s marriage and the drama there etc, because creativity is given and encouraged by God, but when it gets to be something that seems to go against who Jesus is in the bible, it can be confusing. I’m all for Christian creativity, but I can’t imagine any necessity to change the character of Jesus in order to make a story more appealing…
This would be the second time in the show where Jesus denies healing to people who directly ask Him, including little James. I understand they were trying to explain why healings don’t happen here now sometimes, but when Jesus walked this earth, there was never a person brought to Him who was not healed. There’s no need to alter-in any way-the character, accomplishments or works of Jesus in order to fulfill any purpose to which we might see fit;trying to explain something hard is not a good reason to color Jesus in any other way than who He was. There is never a good enough reason to, even if only slightly, change Jesus.
It creeps in, inch by inch, so subtly. Compromise. Please just honor the Jesus of the bible, while continuing to be beautifully creative and exciting as you have always been, Chosen crew! I love You, Jesus ❤️🔥

This storyline was not in the Bible. It will drift the conversation on Lazarus’s resurrection and Thomas’s doubt when Jesus resurrects as well. Not good really noooot good.
The killing of Raman was this show’s greatest mistake and a disservice to the gospel. When “Jesus” showed up when she was dying, He looked helpless and did not intervene. Unfortunately, this is what most people experience in day to day heartbreaks with sickness, injustices, death… The whole point that Jesus was alive then was that He had a way of cancelling death… like the widow of Nain in Luke 7 and the producers of this show did not bother to add. Why do this? It would have been so much better if Ramah simply chose not to marry Thomas. Killing her and have Jesus watch the whole thing and do nothing was a terrible, terrible mistake. Our generation needs to see the Jesus that intervenes and does something. Because of this one scene, all the people that are trying to get close to God and don’t really know the Bible will relate more to Thomas and believe that God won’t intervene for them. This has been such an amazing show up to this one thing. I am so sad this was put in there.

It's not in the Bible. It is just a made up part for this series to make interesting storylines. Not much is known about the disciples lives.
