One of the best all-time, timeless, high energy, well-written, bold, scriptural and rocking songs of CCM.
I was introduced to this music by two people named Jerry Allen and Chris Huber! Chris passed away however Jerry is still around. One more brought me close to God who is Gary Peterson! I dedicate this song to them !!!
Very few albums deserve a "10/10". "Beyond Belief" earned that rating, then this one was pretty darn close. Songs like this one are what changed my opinion on how God could use music to glorify His name. No offense to non-rock groups, but once I discovered Petra I was hooked on a type of music in which its power reflected the power of the Creator, at least to some small degree. My dad, a huge southern gospel fan at the time, was appalled. That is, until I showed him the lyrics. He was blown away by the level of depth, the sense of purpose, the God-breathed worship, and the level of understanding regarding spiritual warfare that was present in Petra's songs.
For me this album significantly beats Beyond Belief for me. There are great tunes on BB, but the tracks on Unseen Power are just more enjoyable for me.... and seem to rock harder.

Psalms says "SING UNTO THE LORD A NEW SONG" not "sing unto the Lord the same 300 year old hymns, and only the gentle slow music"
Even "death" metal can glorify God, if the music is reaching people for Jesus, and the lyrics reflect that.
So with that said, keep rockin'!
Great testimony, thanks for sharing. Petra's music brought me to Christ in the mid-80s, once I heard "Never Say Die" on cassette I was hooked and wanted to learn more about the Lord. They are truly anointed.

Great track - probably my favourite Petra song! Petra played a gig at my old church last night and I was able to shake Louie Weaver's hand and thank him for the great tracks I practised drums to when I was a student. Great to see how these guys have lived their whole lives 100% for God . :o)
I got turned onto PETRA in 1982 and got to see them live in Odessa,TX. during their MORE POWER TO 'YA tour. Been hooked ever since. Thank you so much for sharing them with us.

I just want to say as a fan of all GOOD, Rock, metal, Christian or Other wise whether it be classic or not. There will never be a band that can hold a candle next to PETRA ever. Maybe the Standard in what true ROCK N ROLL is all about, no compromise in lyrics, music, excellence, purpose of existence or longevity Petra changed the face of music both, secular and Christian and conquered both.

You know what I just noticed. The church bells and religious chanting were in the right ear and the Apollo 13 mission audio was in the left ear. Then Petra channels the audio to the middle... in order TO ROCK!

Great album. It's a shame Wake Up Call was so lame. Then the following album after Wake Up Call; the album Enter In was comparable to performing CPR on dinosaur bones attempting to bring it back to life
+stan broniszewski I agree that those two weren't as good as Unseen Power, but come on they weren't terrible. There are quite a few gems on both those albums. You can't possibly expect a band to have FOUR or FIVE consecutive masterpieces, can you? Petra Praise, Beyond Belief and Unseen Power are three consecutive classics. No one beats that.
This Christian prefers to find Life in Christ, not Rock Bands .
If you want life from a Christian artist, look to "Kim Walker" of Jesus Culture & be moved closer to His THRONE ! ! !
