This is a short movie about how Embryo’s are Vitrified (Frozen) in IVF Labs. There are many reasons why Embryo’s are vitrified.
    Some major reasons are:
    • Availability of Supernumary Embryo’s i.e. Extra left over embryos after Embryo Transfer
    • Freeze All Protocol for the IVF Cycle
    • Fertility preservation for onco (cancer) patients, where Embryo’s are frozen before Chemo Therapy and Embryo Transfer is done after the patient has recovered from the cancer treatment.
    • Fertility Preservation for married females who wish to delay child bearing. IVF Cycle is performed and Embryos are stored for later transfer. Embryos can be stored upto 5 years if couple wishes to defer pregnancy for a while.
The technique for vitrification has been around since last many years. It is a very safe technique and with constant advancements in media composition and protocol, it is absolutely safe for the embryos resulting in 100% survival after warming.
During Vitrification, embryos are kept in a special media for certain minutes as instructed by the media manufacturer and then loaded on a Cryo Device (Straw) within a very short time and immediately immersed in Liquid Nitrogen (Temperature of liquid nitrogen is -196 degrees). This technique takes a while to master in order to assure 100% survival of embryos or oocytes.
There are many protocols and techniques for Vitrification, we at Indore Infertility Clinic, follow the Open System for Vitrification and use Cryotech Media and Cryolock device for Vitrification. Our technique is an amalgamation of years of experience with Vitrification and may vary from many other Embryologist’s.
Embryos can be frozen for many years under liquid nitrogen within the Cryo Tanks. The two most important parts of Vitrification is tagging of the Straw/ Cryo Device for fail proof identification process and the actual technique of loading the Embryo’s on the straw. Proper tagging and cross checking makes the process fool proof.
This entire movie has been shot using mobile phones without jeopardizing the safety of patient embryo’s. Scenes have been staged and performed by Embryologists and movie has been created and edited by our Embryologists.

Supposed Embryos are missed in liquid nitrogen container how to take that cryolocks?

Only option is to place the Canisters with all the embryos to another empty Container and then let the LN2 evaporate some so that the bottom of the vessel is visible along with the lost cryo device. Once the device is visible, improvise to pick it up safely using surgical allis clamp. Worth a shot.

if the embryo is not a human being or a person that causes external biological causes it to become one?
If such functions as reason, consciousness or brain activity make us a person, there should be an external cause foreign to the embryo that disturbs such qualities that make it a person, but there is no data whatsoever that shows that reason or consciousness or Coherent brain activity is externally distressed, but on the contrary, it is its own in a process that controls the embryo itself, so the question would be ... Can a thing that is not a person turn itself into a person? Does the fetus digivolve?
