The fact that you are humble enough to admit you made a mistake and use it as a teaching moment says a lot about you. This is exactly why we watch you. Your honesty and humility is a breath of fresh air.
I suffer from PTSD and your soft voice and the music you play really relax me if I am in a bad way. My service dog watches with me. Thank you so much.
He soothes our hoof souls
I suffer from PTSD as well sister. You’re 100% right on this
Me too. My major depression and anxiety are soothed away. Thanks!
I dont wave ptsd and never thought or knew of it and asked i whould not know it but sinced readeing your post that is what makes me relax and calmly enjoy this i learned something more than how a hoof mans job is so valued to fellow earth inhabiters
Amazing.... I had a huge depression. I have touched a cow 1 time in my life but he makes me feel ok.
You say that the mistake was no big deal really, but you keep talking about it. To me, that means it really bothers you when you make a mistake and that you take great pride in your work. I'm the same way! A small mistake will bother me ALL day!
Nice to see someone not to proud to show and explain a mistake. You're always a pleasure to watch
Transparency at its best. Proves honesty & integrity. Great job as always. ❤️🐮
Why does it make me giggle when you're herding them by just hollering "c'mon ladies, 'scuse me, c' mon"?
A cheery voice always puts animals at ease
I feel like you can tell he's never worked around horses as much as cows because he's so polite getting them to move and doesn't click his tongue at them
Accidents happen and it show how you really care about the animals, just by admitting on camera to it. I love watching you work, the gift you have, even seeing how the cows 🐄 trust you, and at times how the seem to say 'thank you'. Thank you for all you and your team do.
Am I the only one that would be super happy with a 30 minute lightly edited video of *just* Graeme trimming hooves? No music, just the buzz of the grinder and the _snick snick_ of the blade? Or am I the weird outlier here?
It's like people trimming the nails on their cats/dogs etc. Each foot is a bit different, each claw on that foot is different. The fact that you owned it and showed it means so much more to the farmers and the transparency for us here.
I know I've accidentally clipped too far back on a nail when I couldn't see the quick and accidentally hurt the animal. that was a solid 15 years ago and I still feel bad about it!!
Came for the trimming, stayed for the singing lol!
Ha ha ha I doubt that
Stick with the hoof trimming boys lol.
@@ronbiggar9778 that burn needs some ice, lol
I love to watch your channel the content is great! I also enjoy it because you’re always introducing me to all the great music! I live in Texas and I’ve told my family and friends about your channel and they’re really enjoying it.
omg....he is human...lol mistakes happen, your the bigger person for admitting and showing
exactly!
I work with many people and it's a common thing not to be able to admit one's mistakes. heck, sometimes it's difficult for me too. but it's such an important skill. not only realism, not only healthy dose of humbleness (which promotes actual skillfulness), but allows to repair mistakes! damn, I'm saying this also to remind myself why that's so important and why I need to practice it and learn it. one of the most difficult workers I know are unable to admit their mistakes, and instead they hide them, pretend it has never happened or try to convince everybody this is the right way. argh
anyway, thank you for that vid.
admire your work even more.
100% truth! I'm glad he DIDN'T edit it out, & showed it, as well as what he did to remedy the mistake!
Well.... who else here by accident but actually cant stop watching this guy. dont know how i got here, watching cows getting pedicures but i actually find it quite fascinating what youre doing, subscribed to keep in touch with youre videos. Lockdown making me watch loads of crazy fascinating stuff.
I'm not a fan of anyone who has never made a mistake or insists that they have '100% success'. People who don't recognize and correct mistakes don't learn and don't seek out ways to improve.
I love how honest you have been here when you could have easily hidden your mistake. We are all human and no one is perfect 👌
10:33
Graeme: She peed on my block!
Craig: Ugh sorry bruh...but that's what happens when urine the line of fire.
**cow pees on Craig's shoe**
Craig: Oh, urine trouble now, missie!
Graeme: Craig...urinecorrigible!
Me: *sees a 14 minute video with a title relating to a mistake* "uh oh, what happened?!"
Hoof GP: "So I made this nick"
Me, squinting: "....that's it?"
At least he can admit it!!!🤣🤣🤣🥰🥰 He can work on my cow's feet any day!! 🐄
I know this comment is exactly what I thought 🤣🤣💯💯xxx
The video production on this channel is outstanding. I'm not happy about the high aspect ratio, but the content, video and audio are A++. Get Craig to go with blonde highlights and hair gel and he'll become a YT star!
😂
When you go up to a small group, does it ever seem like there is a designated spokescow who was voted to deal with the human?
Jennifer Durham it’s like horses-they have a lead cow. Actually in my mare’s case, I sometimes call her a cow too!
Jennifer Durham member of cows association n union Leader love it your comment
Usually my wife, but I still love her
Spokeswoman! Lmao!
The Hoof GP and his Padawan Craig.
Padawan ❤
Teaching by demonstration that mistakes are normal, and admitting and resolving the mistake is the best way to go.
I know this is 3 years after the vid, but your reaction is too rare and I salute you.
Craig seems like a very good helper and Stevie seems like a wonderful companion. The three of you make a very nice team.
Admitting you made a mistake shows you are an honest man
I have a feeling your channel is going to quadruple in 2020! You just seem so down to earth, like normal folk! That's what I truly appreciate! Ha! Keep up the good work, we love you in Texas!
And it’s about admitting to the mistake 👏 Everyone makes them 😊
(I will get first comment one day) hahah
Tom I watched your channel, your great fun. Beautiful life.
Feels like you’ve been gunning for him hahahahhaa “its about time” 😆
You’d be surprised, your comments often sits on the top.
Love that you're open enough to show when you make a mistake. We're all human after all.
I'm not a farmer, I'm a city girl but I love watching how you care for these cows. It's beautiful!
Makes for a long day! How does Stevie stay so calm around all those cows?🤣😂
2:17 I laughed out loud at your saying, "Look at her. She wants to kill me."
Josi Got to watch out for those killer cows, they’d lick you to death given a chance! 🤣🥰
I admire that you Graeme are able to assess hooves and still be so humble about not being perfect all the time. You my good lad are awesome and I'm super happy your channel is doing well.
Work to task, not to time. Every job deserves the proper amount of time to make it right.
It was really nice to see the faces of some of the cows while you were trimming them, just showed what you've been telling us all along that it doesn't hurt them one bit 👍🏾
Really interesting and informative to watch your videos, me as a veterinarian still learn new things to examine and treat hoofof my cows at farm. Hats off 👍
It's great to see someone who love their job so much.
You guys are awesome I love just watching your friendship like it's like really like you don't see it often anymore you guys really have a lot of fun together
I think you are so passionate and kind! I have Multiple Sclerosis and can't get out much anymore. I love animals and I feel I am right there with you! I really enjoy your videos so thank you for making my bad days better! Berni
I have MS too. I hope your good days outnumber your bad ones. 🙂
@@jenkeep8123 ah bless you! It's a horrible viscous disease and some days I feel so down. I do hope that yours isn't going to get any worse. Thanks Jen 😘
Berni Baldwin if either of you are in southern Alberta I have the world’s calmest horse that you could go ride!
@@abigaildeeks8328 Hi, thank you so much. I would really love that but I live in England. But that was a lovely gesture. Thank you Abigail 😉
Berni Baldwin you’re welcome. Maybe there is someone local that can do that for you. Driving horses can be quite calming too......PS- I love horses!
I love your videos because you genuinely care about the welfare of the animals. I wish there were more of you
It's the same with horses. We know ours because we have worked with ours in particular so long. And occasionally they get a nick or a misplaced nail with shoeing. It's quite normal, you just make sure the area is clean and the offending nail is removed and the hole sprayed with an antiseptic and all is well
I love how much you actually care about the cows well-being. We live in the heart of Lancaster County PA and even lived on a farm a bit. We even have a dog that looks like a cow! ❤️My husband is in the Poultry business where he keeps the egg laying chicks healthy!
CrazyDaneLady3 I’m from the same area! Love to see locals also following Hoof GP, really cool!
Ana cool!!!!!
I'm late to this video but I'm from the Hershey area but originally Palmyra! I love coming down to Lancaster County for all of the incredible food!!
I'm binging on videos I've missed somehow but absolutely love Graeme and Craig! It's wonderful to see how much they care about these cows! 🤗 And thank you and your husband for caring about your chickens!! ☺️
@@D.Lily02 isn’t it a small world! We are blessed to live in this beautiful place. I take it for granted sometimes.
It's a very small world 😁 I think we live in a beautiful area as well! I love that we have four distinct seasons and they're so gorgeous! We are truly blessed here! Scotland looks beautiful too though 😍
Stevie has the best spot to watch. Has he ever gotten in the way and come close to getting stepped on?
... only twice .... today ..... three times yesterday.....
@@TheHoofGP - So I guess it happens a lot! That's gotta be stressful for you to worry about your dogs all the time like that..I know I would be stressed and that's why I would keep them at home cuz I would be to worried about them and not get my job done in time. I don't know how you do it!
🖐😌 smh 🐕🐄❤
You two guys are just fantastic to watch, great system you've got going there. Love the way you talk to your girls (The Cows) Great video as always guys, keep them coming please!
Thanks Carol!!
Your very welcome Gramne!
The Hoof GP
If I was cow 🐮 I would love you blokes to trim my feet 🍻
There's something nice about watching a true professional working that enjoys their work.
I just love your videos. I have no idea why cause I'm a full fledged city gal.
A builder doesn’t blame his tools, in the same manner one takes responsibility and learns from mistakes just one of life’s Lessons
Well done. Admitting a mistake is the only way towards fixing a mistake.
Even though it was a slight error, you owned up to it, took responsibility for it, and made a corrective action right away. That shows much more about what kind of person you are than what kind of vehicle you have, or home you live in, or job you do. I was American Air Force, but I served with Brits and Scots, you remind me of them very much. Cheers!
Nice 👍 It takes courage to admit ones mistake. Props for not editing it out.
I love how polite you are to the cows! 🐮❤️
Glad you left this in Graeme. Makes me fell less useless when it happens me. 👍🏼
Ha ha ha Its about limiting when it happens - it's the nature of the beast unfortunately
When I first stated trimming I did it often. I put many free blocks on unfortunately.
I didn't realize cows were such poopers! My Grandfather ran a cow farm and we were constantly stepping in poop! It's like liquid gold in the garden so we were always picking up the patties for composting. I enjoy watching those girls get new feet! Thanks for sharing!!
Awesome upload! The mark of a true craftsman or artisan, isn’t just a flawless workpiece, but how well they fix/overcome their mistakes on their way to the completed product. Keep doing what you do!
I love the fact that you’re accountable for what you do.
4:00 This reminds me of a package sorting area in a big courier, except your packages move on their own. Sort of like calling airplane/bus passengers self-loading cargo.
Never thought I would say this but love those deep eyed Jerseys. My love are milking shorthorns
You do a great job, what shows in the videos, is that you care about the cattle.
Love the cow close ups. They're so cute.
Graeme, I watch you drive down those skinny roads and wonder how you pass each other!
What if there's no room to pull over?
One of you backs up?
I'm watching this on 4/21/2022 and you almost have 1.5 million now!
Watching you on your knees trimming and squatting...
It's so hard!
I'm so glad you have your new crush and that Craig is with you all of the time now.
You're so much faster with your newer crush.
I'm having a great time watching these older videos.
Your boys are so tiny - and cute when you brought them to the US!
Your Mrs. Hoof GP is always beautiful and seeing your Mom and her shop was lovely as well.
Thank you for your content and the learning experience you're giving us all.
Thanks for sharing your day; the videos are informative and interesting (even though the closest I get to a cow is the dairy aisle in the grocery store. )
Great music as always, and I really love the scenery of Scotland too.
Cheers!
You are one joy of a guy Grae. Keep up the great vids! LOVE EM. J in the USA
You have such a kind heart. I hope this world repays you in bounds!!
Its so important and greatly appreciated that you show us when you make a mistake and instead of beating yourself up about it, you turned it into a teachable moment. You're probably one of the best trimmers on social media. For those that own cows and hire a hoof trimmer, if they make minor mistake once in a while - dont be too harsh on the trimmer. Even the best can make mistakes. It isnt intentional.
I realize it's been 4 years but, I must say: I love your opening of this video, you and Craigie singing on your way to the farm, please don't quit your day job!😅 That being said, the way you walk through the girls, 'cuse me, come on, is priceless and your work to get these lovely ladies feeling better, even more priceless!❤ Also, your absolute honesty and care is the best I've seen on CZcams!! Keep on keeping on😊❤
I always can tell how upset you are when you do knick a hoof. Love your compassion
Little Stevie going in for a gawp!
🤣🤣🤣
I love this channel because of the positivity, this is also very good educational material. Love your videos, keep it up!
My knees hurt just watching you kneel down like that. Glad you got the new crush.
I’m watching all your aides in reverse.
"Excuse me ladies. Excuse me" LOL. You're a delight to watch. Your humour is fantastic. You and Craigie Boy team up so well, its great. ..... and you love your job and caring ways with the cows/bulls. You're a star Grlaeme and Craigie Boy your right hand man. Many thanks ☺☺☺ Enjoyed the 🎶🎶🎵 👍👍👍
I've never seen before another very good looking man like you! Hugs from Argentina.
Mistakes are made when people work. You fixed it and that's the most important thing. Keep taking good care of the cows and of one of scotlands most spoiled frenchies.
Nescafé needs to put you and your *ding* shiny toof on the payroll right now!! You two singing, so cute! It’s nice to make a work day fun. I’m surprised your wife doesn’t ride with you at least once or twice a week! Pupper is so cute! I hope you have been to the vet lately! Cute cows!
Mistakes happen and it’s to your credit to take the responsibility and use it to teach others. You rock.
Recently found your channel and I just can't stop binging on your videos. This is so informative and something I never would have considered before but it is really awesome! Plus, the cameos of Steve are awesome!
LOVE, LOVE YOUR TASTE IN MUSIC. 🎼
. Love all the camera angles, especially the one from the top of hte crush/trailer going down the road. I could watch that without end.
I've viewed a few of your videos now. It is obvious to me that you love what you do! I really enjoy your videos. Im not a farmer. Ha.. far from it but your videos relax me. Thank you.
Glad you aren't one of those people who never admit mistakes. Accidentally nicking the hoof is similar cutting smaller animal's claws and slightly nicking the quick.
Anyone who has ever had to do for care for animals has done it at some point like you said.
The bleeding stops swiftly. Heals up really fast. Besides, cows are AMAZING healers, right? Their skin as well, only downside is that infections and abscesses can turn up just as quick and get huge before you even realise it.
Thanks for cheering up my day, I've got a lot of health problems, but these make me happy. For some reason your videos really make me smile.
Especially needed at the moment, everyone else is getting to go out but I still cant. I'd love this kind of life, smelly though cows may be. 😀 Always enjoyed myself on the family farm, very comfortable around livestock.
It's always a great feeling to help them out, watch animals walk off or go to other homes once you've done you thing. (We used to rescue animals too, then rehome them. Dogs, cats, rabbits that kind of thing.) Cows are actually quite adorable but a bit dopey. Powerful animals though.
The pigs were always my favourites, or the Shire horses. I had family around London outskirts, and in Yorkshire, they used to use Shires for the barges too.
Graigie has lost shed loads of weight since then. Looking gorgeous . ❤
No matter how many times I see people driving on the left side of the road while sitting in the right hand seat I will never get use-2 it. BUT I have certainly gotten use-2 your videos. Great job you guys.
I just love these cows!! Super sweet and soulful eyes.
Everyone gets a nick sometimes. You are very compassionate.
I love the Hoof GP! The only thing that makes these even better is watching with the auto
translate on. The person inside my phone thinks he's saying the strangest things!
The passion of this guy is very motivating
Graeme, I'm a medical malpractice claims supervisor...the biggest mistake committed by doctors, is not recognizing an unintended injury, not correct it and lying about it...so from a risk management stand point, you handled this accidental injury perfectly!!
Merci de nous faire participer ça fait plaisir de voir la campagne et les vaches.
Kudos for turning a mistake into a learning experience... love the curious dog... no safety goggles... but who’s counting? Rofl!
He wore them on his head...
Very close.
Still could have lost an eye, but the glasses WERE on his head!
I hate making mistakes. It really messes with my head. And everyone is correct, admitting, and doing what you can to fix it is the most important. Admitting mistakes shows integrity. Not a lot of that in this world today! Love your videos and truly admire the job you do with the ladies and sometimes the boys!
Everyone makes mistakes, it's fixing them that is important. Nice job!
You are such a character!! I love your patience with the cows...your truly the right man for this line of work.
Thanks for this video! I really enjoyed seeing how your day goes and how you and Craig work together. And I really loved that you took your little puppers along. He's adorable!!!
Your compassion for these animals is amazing and shows in everything you do with the cows!
@5:59 Craigie boy looked at the piece that fell and was like "naw man..I'm good with the 10 sec rule on that one" lol 😆🥐
Man, I admire your honesty and openness. Thank you for being genuine. It shows in every video, and even though I use them for sleeping, I always look forward to the next video.
You pushing the cows along reminds me of Sandi Brock. She is a sheep farmer in Canada and is always pushing her ewes, rams and lambs through the chutes to weigh them, give them shots, etc. her vlog is entertaining, like yours.
It’s so important to see what mistakes can be made and how to fix them. I always really appreciate it when someone allows you to learn from them. Great job!
Love your videos! But look at those tiny little roads !
Love your humour and cheery dispositions
This cow at the end, reminded me a bit of what it looks like for my 13 year old daughter to peel potatoes. Knife always goes up and peels fly everywhere.. 😌
We call the friesian/Jersey cross in NZ the Kiwi cross because 98% of the country’s herd is this! Produce great milk, but are smaller and lighter on the ground (less pugging)! Awesome cows!🐄
Sometimes just the plodding of any job, even the most menial task, well done is soothing. I love work. I can set a pace and work from early morning until well after dark and it is the simple momentum of motion, basic skills and purpose that bring accomplishment. And that feels good. So late at night when I come in I enjoy relaxing to your videos….much like my day…simply a job well done.
Why are your videos soooo soothing🤔😌😌? Thanks for your honesty. Now Craig is going to wash the crush lol-right😄
You gotta love the amount of effort he puts in his videos
Great job as always. Thank you!❤️💋🇺🇸🇺🇸And the subscribers just keep on rising!!!
