  • As requested by a viewer, I'll be starting a P-40 modeling series showing how I do it. The things I show can be used for almost any airplane you decide to make although this will be most helpful when making WW2 aircraft due to the similar shapes.
    I do make mistakes here and there and the way I make this model may not be the most efficient way but I found it to be the easiest way to grasp. If you see something incorrect or you want to tell others how you would go about it feel free to share in the comments.

    Total blender noob here. I really appreciate this series and the time it took you to make and explain things. I got a lot to learn but this was very informative and fun to watch. Thanks

    A quicker method to realign your center vertices is to highlight all of them and set the x scale to 0, then assign the whole selection an x location of 0. Although if you’re dealing with a perfectly circular cross section, you’re usually out of luck when those vertices get jacked up.

      Yeah you are right, I have recently been using this more and more. Sometimes it is just better to do it by hand but typically that technique is much faster and easier.

    Just got into Blender last week and feel like I’ve had good progress so far. There’s a lot of tutorials out there , but your pacing and explanation is really great and makes it easy to watch you and learn! Would be awsome if you added that little prompt where it showed what keys you were pressing( even tho with a little effort and just looking on bottom left I was able to figure it out ) , other than that 10/10 !

      Yeah its tricky at first but you learn a little every model. Keep it up man and you can make some amazing stuff!

    I was worried about the mirror modifier, then as soon as you initiated it, it was like magic!

    you have a 'Shading / UVs' tab on your side bar, is that an add on? I don't see that on my side bar.

    • @ApexMods135
      @ApexMods135  Před 2 lety

      I don’t believe so, I was using a older version of blender in this video and the UV stuff got moved around

    • @ApexMods135
      @ApexMods135  Před 3 lety +1

      I use Blender 3D, it’s one of the most universal free softwares for 3D art out there, I highly recommend it if you are looking to start out

    Where do I get the blueprint?

    • @ApexMods135
      @ApexMods135  Před 3 lety +1

      So I usually just search "airplane name" 3 view and I usually can find one. Any of them will work, I usually like more detailed blueprints.

  • @mursie
    @mursie Před 3 lety

    How did you get the front view for the blueprints?

    • @ApexMods135
      @ApexMods135  Před 3 lety

      So I like to use one photo with all the images (front, top, and side) so they line up relatively well and scaling isn't an issue. However, you can also use separate images for the different views but the scales most likely won't be the same. The link for the blueprint is in the description if you want to use the same one I did.
