I will never stop coming back to this performance. It has shaken me and deeply moved fellow musician friends of mine. Thank you Andy and David for this. A huge landmark in songwriting and visceral performance for me. Xoxoxo
Had the pleasure of meeting both of these gentlemen in St. Pete, FL. David Bazan is as authentic and humble a performer as he is a human being. What a truly awesome person. Andy Fitts was great as well, seemed like a really genuine, talented guy,
I’m a 100 percent believer in the Christian beliefs of Jesus. Even go to a church thats a smaller version of this. But we can’t produce a God given sound like this. It’s a true gift.
I still believe in Jesus, been watching you since cornerstone. You are still relevant and still here. Not that I matter, or either of us. You probably don't even check youtube anymore and I don't blame you. God has taught me feelings and honesty through you. And we are both still here. Hope we can meet again sometime before we die. Keep doing what God has blessed you with! I'm just a sinner that hasn't had a bracelet on and I don't know why I'm here, but I love your music.
I love Bazan....ever since the Whole EP I have just jumped from over-listening to one song after another. One of the best songwriters of our generation. Period.
I just keep coming back to this video day after day. It still has the same impact. It still never leaves my mind or my heart. Three of the most beautifully crafted songs ever.
That's definitely Alan Sparhawk of Low setting them up at the beginning. The fact that two of my music heroes were in the same room(or church) together is blowing my mind. I hope this means that they're going to be working together soon or touring together or something, anything oh man. Also this is way amazing.
Bazan, wiser and rounder, displaying his work in a church. Could be mockery; maybe a shy attempt for forgiveness; or fock, he's there for the acoustics.
I know that Andy Fitts is playing guitar. I meant the Duluth, MN native Alan Sparhawk of the bands Low and Retribution Choir Gospel, who seems to be helping with the production of the video/recording. If that is him, that is what I was asking.
What the hell happened to music in the past six years? You'd never see something like this now, and it's not like we're far removed. Strange negotiations, indeed.
A house show is friggin' amazing, dude. I have gone to two and I can't believe other artists aren't doing this. I got to meet David twice afterward. This isn't a concert, this is a private event. He shines more while he plays than anyone I have ever seen. When someone lets you into their house to let you hang out with him and listen to him pour his heart out on his instrument, you leave a different person.
Bazan has always been underrated. Keep rocking brother. Come back to Missoula, fellas.
I will never stop coming back to this performance. It has shaken me and deeply moved fellow musician friends of mine. Thank you Andy and David for this. A huge landmark in songwriting and visceral performance for me. Xoxoxo
The same thing has happened to me, for more than ten years.
The bass, the voice, the reverb. Everything is perfect.
This is such a great recording. I come back year after year. I never hoped it would become as relevant again as it is now.
Seriously one of the best songwriters ever. This performance is unreal. Thank you David.
I agree 100%. I have been following David for so long and he's still my favorite singer songwriter.
I come back to this video all the time. Such a fantastic performance

That voice. That voice. That voice...
This is like my tenth time watching this performance. Better every time.
Thank you David. Thank you Andy. Perfection.
All the beautiful space packed into these renditions. Thank you!!

Duluth holds a special place in my heart.
Me too. Born there, lived there till 39 years old.

This gives goosebumps! The honesty! And the blending of these guy voices! The guitar and bass parts all perfect!

David Bazan is fucking amazing! He's never let me down with his music!
Bought this man a pabst 3 years ago. I feel as if I connect with him more than any other person. Go see him, buy shirts, support David Bazan

It's a super mellow version of Wolves at the Door, first song on Strange Negotiations.

That's a Squier Mustang bass, I believe. Very cool.
It now functions as a Music center of sorts. Has concerts, recording sessions, Other performances.
I have never heard another artist who resonates so closely to where I am right now.
Yeah
this is so gorgeous, it breaks my heart.

This is my new favorite everything.
Whoa!!!!
Wow.
Fuck, I cried listening to this.
They played it in Greer Wednesday night.
Great recording and video. Is that Alan Sparhawk of Low?
beeeeeyah!

Anybody know if there is a downloadable recording of this version of gas and matches?
fuckin awesome.
this is freakin amazing. david and his gang never disappoint!
I love how the song titles are displayed underneath Jesus. LOL
Is that Alan Sparhawk talking in the beginning? I know he is from Duluth and has played at Sacred Heart.
Does anyone know what kind of bass Dave is playing?
No, if you read the description you'd know it's "Andy Fitts."
you are a GODDAMN FOOL!! and I love you.. :(
full band? holy smokers
you gotta close your eyes and just let go...
I believe it's a Fender Mustang Bass
Wolves at the door....its off of "Strange Negotiations"
whats the first song?
BARBARIDAD.
:')

What happened? Internet piracy--it's messed everything up; it's hard for musicians to even pay the rent anymore.
Would love to know the pedals being used - both the bass and the guitar sound amazing

That natural reverb... Mhmm.
Minimalist and overpowering too, somehow
Please come to Harrisburg and play somewhere other than a fucking house.
hey now. the house thing is probably helpful for him to tour, have people hear, and support his family at the same time.

self-entitlement much?
+Placenta Gobbler i don't get it, i would always prefer an intimate gig to a festival or a coliseum, lots of noise and too much people...
