  • The other day I had one of my best safaris in Bandipur ever! In one signle outing we got to see the three main predators of the forest (tiger, leopard and wild dogs). Great experience overall with Jungle Lodges and Resorts.

    Loved the video. Living in the African Bush myself, next to the Kruger Park in South Africa, Indian wildlife has always fascinated me!

    I've been to Bandipur and kabini 3 times each but I've still failed to spot a big cat.
    Man your seriously lucky to have seen them in a single Safari 😍🔥

      Don't worry, I've had plenty of "empty" safaris. That one was indeed very VERY lucky! One tip is to start getting interested in birds. You'll always have plenty to see 😉

    Wow!! You are so lucky Tibo. Tiger sightings are very rare in Bandipur. A good and entertaining video and the fact that you have mentioned names of all the animals and birds makes it even more interesting.

      @TIBOTravels  Před 5 lety +2

      Thanks. And yes I know that seing a tiger (or a leopard and wild dogs) is quite rare. I've done a lot more safaris without seeing anything than ones during which we saw these. But usually I get to see elephants, and I'm quite happy with that!

    animals don't like to see humans in their territory but anyways you did a great job and during this lockdown . . . I'm working on my wishlist and Bandipur is always in my list because last time we visited Ooty but missed Bandipur.
    once again, you really did a great job.

    • @TIBOTravels
      @TIBOTravels  Před 4 lety +2

      I agree with you. However, I believe the presence of humans around the forest helps the animals in this case. Without this type of tourism, I don't think the government would consider protecting these areas. I think that without tourism, you might find more poachers, and the wildlife would slowly disappear without anyone knowing it. What I like also in this is that the people you meet are mostly wildlife/nature enthusiasts which is nice.
      Good luck for your visit. But on the way to Ooty, I often see a lot of animals on the main road as well!

      but now I'm planning to visit Karnataka (Udupi, Mangalore, Lakshadeep (UT), Mysore, Bandipur and Bangalore).
      I'm basically from north India (Chandigarh) and I almost travelled every part of North India (Chandigarh (UT), Delhi (Capital), Himachal Pradesh, Jammu, Kashmir (UT), Ladakh (UT), Haryana, UP, Uttrakhand, Bihar) I also covered some western part and southern states (as i mentioned above) as well. after completing south India, I will move to north eatern parts of India.

    • @TIBOTravels
      @TIBOTravels  Před 4 lety +2

      Are you going with Jungle Lodges and Resorts as well? If yes, the stay includes morning and evening safaris, and it's always in jeeps with three rows of seats. Sometimes you can also sit next to the driver if you want. If you're planning to go through the forest office instead, you can get a jeep or a bus depending on what you pay for. But the safaris are shorter there.

      Which gate as in? If you take the road going from Mysore to Ooty, we entered the forest on the right, just before the forest office (I think it moved out of the forest now). On that side we saw the leopard. But later on we crossed to the other side of the road and saw the tiger like 250m in the forest. Not sure if it's clear ;o)
