Take your hose drill two sets of holes 1.5 ' above the opening wire in a + in the opening bend out side ends of the wire old Bycycle cut shunk of inner tube go over the ends . So you dont Poke Yourself . Problem solved . Ive done that on many thing that Suck No she wou'nd go For it 😂

I just got a conversion van! Hopefully I can hit the jackpot this year! This van was a blessing from God & im soooo thankful! When I told my customer about my CZcams channel and what my goals are her & the husband gave us the van for free!! I never thought in a million years that someone would help me out so much! I have never won anything so when the customer gave me this beautiful 2002, Chevy Express regency conversion van I cried like a baby... I just didn't think there was people out there that cared.. I honestly felt alone on my life's gold journey.. Now I know God is with me🙏🙏🙏
I'm going to get this van in tip top shape and it won't take much! I had a dream me, you where standing on the side of the van looking at buckets of dirt and then I woke up.. I guess ya never know what can happen! I was feeling down because I haven't been able to get out to my spots but now I understand!

Jeff great video and you are the "SUPER"man of inginuity. Your enthusiasm gets me pumped to wanna find the shiny stuff... Maybe try drilling a hole in the end of the hose thru both sides and put a small bolt w a locknut and that would stop any rocks from entering the hose that are more than half the diameter of the hose so it wont clog on you)))

Put a PVC pipe cap on the end with a smaller hole or a PVC coupling with ½ or ¾ inch hardware cloth/wire as a screen.

Drill 2 holes and throw a small bolt across the tip so its divided into two, that will keep large stuff from getting into the hose. If you put 2 bolts in a cross shape might help even more, only would have to worry about really long skinny shaped stuff being a pain.
Looked at the Ryobi a few years ago, and it's on the wish list.

Nice idea, but I like using a hand pump / yabby pump. Faster, more suction and no batteries required. Plus, cheap to make. But I like the idea of a larger unit.

off the top of my head installing a piece of 1/4" hardware cloth, food dehydrator screen, or other mesh might work just get it slightly below the edge of the nozel so you can get a better seal

A wire X over the nozzle would work i think. could maybe make a ring of holes and use like sheer pins or bailing wire (something easy to take off or on) and play with different patterns for different material.

That nozzle thing. If it were me, I'd drill me some holes (4) just inside the lip, then run a chunk of wire between the opposite holes. That should get you down to about 1/2 the hole diameter.
Make a 3D printed cap for it that has a solid crosshair on it to reduce the size of the material it will suck up by 3/4.
Jeff, try putting a Swimming Pool Return Fitting Safety Grate on the end of the open vac hose...you may have to buy a faceplate and a female adapter fitting because the grate has threadson it...That's just my idea...I'm sure you'll figure it out. Go to a pool supply store and check it out...Those cleaners are new to me, I haven't worked in a pool store since 1994...Lol
First Ryobi lasted 3 days 2nd Ryobi last 2 days . I did pull pickers but clear plastic is too fragile. PS Is that river in NY state ?I hope those pups find homes , Thanks for helping them too.

A though, what if you had a 5 gal bucket with a lid, ran the vac to the bucket , then ran a hose out of the bucket to suck up the gravel. this way you would be pulling vac from the 5 gal bucket and would not have to stop until the bucket was full. I have the ryobi and was going to use it the way you are but now after seeing your video I thought it would be better not not have to stop to clean out the vac so much.

I bought a DeWalt 20v cordless vac for this purpose years ago. They make some pretty big batts but the thing is really loud. Maybe you can get a clear suction hose for your vac?
Make sure that there isn’t laws against suction dredging in the state.

Looks like the Enchanted valley still, but I believe you've gotten all the AU, so you've brought another "gold getting gizmo" to get any you've might've missed Lol! Was at Letchworth State Park yesterday! Did it pour! The water gets that silt brown, like you're in, especially after heavy rains.... I got a way to help with panning, that might Speed up the process. Put a battery operated massage wand in back of pan, The vibrating will cause the heavies (black sand) and gold to go to the lip of the bottom. And if you tilt the pan back the Gold will climb out of the black sand. Just like the tapping on the edge does. Make a video if you want I am too lazy.

Hey I have a question. I have a huge bolder of sulfur crystal yellow and red and gold beautiful colors.i got a huge chunk of gold metallic material out of it and was wondering if it may contain some sort of gold in it it looks like gold and we both know that means nothing lol but im curious. Man Jeff I was just working in Mississippi. It was sad the amount of neglected animals I seen while driving out there. I joined a cpl rescue pages to try and find a home for a kitten that was staying in a bush behind my hotel. The stuff I seen was just sad.
