  • This time I visited the Bidiyah Province in Oman-it's a mesmerizing blend of nature's wonders. We did not venture very deep into the desert as we are planning to do the full desert crossing soon. It was just a small expedition- still worth effort and time.
Sand dunes stretching as far as the eye can see, with hues shifting from red to brown, creating a breathtaking landscape. But it's not just sand; there's life here too, with over 200 plant species thriving in these Eastern Sands as well as many animals. As you venture deeper, you'll discover oases, each with its own unique charm.
Camping under the star-studded sky, surrounded by golden sands, is an unforgettable experience which you can do on your own (provided you have a proper car and are not afraid of the desert) or with the help of one of the local companies.
But it's not just about the scenery; it's about the experiences too. From off-road dune challenges (dune bashing) to traditional camel and horse races, there's always something happening in these sands, adding to the vibrant energy of the region.
It's an adventure you won't soon forget. But a word of caution- come well-prepared, it is a barren and hot land after all.
