I don't care with the reviews; I'm seeing this movie because I love Garfield!
Me too he's a sweet cat
Usually bad reviews save you from wasting time
@@ericsilva-gomez2481Not true at all sir. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is completely reviled by most critics, but it is in my top 20 best films of all time. Blade Runner was also completely hated when it came out. Tell me that it is a bad movie. I dare you.
Finally, someone who gets it.
You cared enough to say you don’t care.
This movie is giving me major Illumination Grinch vibes, that movie wasn’t like the worst thing ever but overall it was pretty mediocre and forgettable, they seemed to give it the modern day animated movie treatment of “Snarky main character voiced by big celebrity in bright happy world with pop songs and modern day references for comedy” And that’s kinda what this movie looks like it’s gonna be, and so my reaction to how it looks isn’t like “Oh god this is gonna suck” it’s more like “…..Eh”
I hated the Illumination Grinch so fucking much... The Jim Carrey Grinch was way better. However, the original Boris Karloff Grinch was even better than that! What does that tell you about nonstop remakes? Usually the first is the best, by a landslide. Diminishing returns and all of that malarkey, if you don't see the truth burned into your retinas.
I love when adults write reviews on movies for kids. Kids don't give a dam about ratings and they just watch them.
this take🤦🏾♂️
Kids are much smarter than you think. You think kids are dumb enough to gas up everything just because it's for kids.
Garfield just shouldn't be a movie lead, he works as a quick comic strip that takes 10 seconds to read. Watching the movie in one of the UK early screenings, the first 5 minutes were fairly fun, but it just keeps dragging on and on. None of Garfield's comic strips tell long character arcs or have long set-pieces, so how do you build a good movie out of that? Garfield should be a cartoon shorts series.
Definitely seeing it love that cat
Moist Critical (Charlie) sounds more like Garfield than Chris Pratt
You may be onto something.
Ray laughing makes the reviews part better
I'm taking my chances with this Garfield movie 🎬
Garfield has been a part of my life, not the live action stuff!
@JohnCampea I also have to say I am a huge fan of Gladiator the movie as well, I think it has some of the most manly moments ever in a movie particularly when, Maximus takes off his helmet, realizing that he may potentially be executed for doing so but doesn’t care and does his iconic speech, one of the best speeches in modern cinema in my opinion.
Sorry for bringing up Gladiator in a show episode about The Garfield Movie’s negative reviews but, I had to bring it up after noticing what Rob’s shirt said
At least it got better reviews than Garfield and Garfield 2.
You’re talking about the live action ones with Bill Murray voicing Garfield? That’s not a high bar to reach.
Garfield 2 was something crazy 😭😭😭😭😭 born in 2000 seen em so much ahaha
I’ve read some reviews and some of them have mentioned things like a generic plot that forgets what makes Garfield what he is. It almost feels like they decided to create a derivative story because they don’t think that it’s possible to make a whole movie about Garfield staying home and doing the stuff that Garfield does in the comics. If they can’t do that, then why even make the movie in the first place?
Because they want to make it more exciting for todays kids
@@AM-dk3wy Exactly. I don’t mind if they want to attract the children of today but at least do it in a way that works with an enticing story and charming characters.
These critics are on drugs
I saw it today, shot an out of the cinema review, and I thought it was fantastic. Go see it guys.
Garfield greatness
People also hate movies like Tom and Jerry 2021 so 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️ just my cup of tea i guess lol
I said when the trailer for this first dropped: it’s not Garfield. Garfield is a lazy, sarcastic, mean cat who beats up everyone in his life, be it Jon, Odie, Nermal or the vet. He’s not a happy movie character. He’d probably turn this off if it was on his tv.
Like with Mario, reviews have no impact on films like this
Mario is a much bigger IP tho
I feel like this is the type of content where the “top critics” are most frequently out of touch with audiences. Reminds me of how the Mario movie was received by them, when that film was pretty much exactly what it set out to be. Perhaps this one will legitimately be a stinker, but I have a feeling that pretentiousness is playing a part with these reviews.
The history of Mario works in its favour, no matter how basic the movie was overall, as long as it’s fun who cares.
What happened to the last animated Chris pratt Star Studded movie after it got a 50% critic score🤔
This is just my personal opinion and don’t take this the wrong way, but I never liked Garfield and I shouldn’t be surprised that this film is any different from any other Garfield property, I’ve come across. I asked myself what is so great about a lazy cat who doesn’t care about anything? And he’s just downright mean to everybody else around him.. why do we keep coming back to this? Maybe this is part of our problem as a society. We love it when we see lazy cats promoting. Irritability which leads to anger which leads to hate which leads to violence. Sorry for getting all philosophical, but that’s just my point.
😮
Mario got horrible reviews too. Theres a major disconnect between critics and audiences nowadays. Plus, it seems like the media loves to hate on Chris Pratt.
Mario didn’t get “horrible” reviews. More than half the critics liked it and fans really liked it. This is much different
We live with a movie-going audience that thinks “lukewarm” reviews = horrible. The tyranny of fan culture has made it that things are either 10/10 or 0/10.
No wonder reading comprehension has gone down the toilet.
1. As mentioned above, more than half the critics liked Mario. Reviews weren’t very positive but they were much better than Garfield
2. No, not to the extent you may believe. Many have been claiming that for years but the stats show otherwise
3. ThE MeDiA… oh please
Got my IMAX tickets for Mad Max Furiosa 🔥
Reviews aren’t doing great
37 reviews at a 49%
Ummm
Well, Jim Davis is still alive so at least he is still getting paid. Why would anyone ever think a Garfield movie would be good, especially after the two Murray films.
Kids don't care
Wow, it's gotten better reviews then most Marvel movies.
Wow, big bad M detractors making this about big bad M (and naturally spreading alternative fax). Rent free, we know
Wow, big bad M dislikers making this about big bad M as usual (and naturally putting non-facts). Yes, rent freee in thee
@@Sevensentai6918 And here comes the sensitive little Marvel fan who can't handle seeing someone being mean to their favorite corporate products. Sorry my silly little comment hurt your feelings enough that you had to rush to poor Disney's defense.
I love you guys a ton, but the fact that you never mentioned Lorenzo Music hurts my head, and heart so much. He IS Garfield. That is why every single show/movie made after he passed away is terrible. The soul of Garfield is dead and buried along with Music. Period.
