    This was awesome. I on a resin kick and now want to make dice for my siblings that actually play games with more then just a 6d. This was the best of both worlds, now to find a 3d printer friend

    For other people, you have something at the ibottom part of the pressure pot top, to redirect air to the side.

    • @fireboltdice867
      @fireboltdice867  Před 2 měsíci

      Nope! I haven’t modified the inside air flow of the pressure pot. If I put something directly under the air flow it can splatter, I just try to fill it up slowly.

    you dont have problems with cure inhibition for the 3d printed parts?

    Question, you spray the dice in the mold with the release agent as well as everything else; does that effect the final mold of that face of the dice?

    • @fireboltdice867
      @fireboltdice867  Před 3 lety +1

      I do not spray the dice! The only time I spray mold release is before pouring the lid.

    • @WarbearPrime
      @WarbearPrime Před 3 lety

      @@fireboltdice867 I ask because in the video, after you place the sprues in, you use the mold release, just after taking out the sprues. . But I don't see you put anything on the dice face you can see, you just spray the release agent on, including the dice faces. Hence my question.

    • @fireboltdice867
      @fireboltdice867  Před 3 lety +3

      @@WarbearPrime oh! I see. Yes, the one dice face does get sprayed. It does give it a satin finish instead of a glossy one. However, because of the sprue that face needs to be sanded and polished anyway. So I find it doesn’t really change the process.

    • @fireboltdice867

      @@fireboltdice867 thats really cool! Ive been having some issues with my dragon skin 10 medium, its so thick its hard to pour in small batches for me and at least with individual molds I need to put my pot at a very low PSI (25) otherwise I seem to be getting some pretty bad warping. Nice system, I like all the 3d printed accessories. My only advice would be stop using dragon skin. It really isn't a good long term silicon for molds, mold star is more durable and lasts longer. It can be stiffer yes, but with a two part mold that isn't a huge deal. Like the pressure pot, glad to see a dice maker on youtube not using some "save a buck" harbor freight piece of junk.

    • @fireboltdice867
      @fireboltdice867  Před 3 lety +1

      At this point I’ve tried Dragonskin, sorta clear, moldmax, and Moldstar. Moldmax is my favorite, but the cure time and extreme flexibility of Dragonskin make it ideal for dice. Most other silicones kill my hands trying to get the dice out of the molds. But you’re not wrong, Dragonskin doesn’t tear, but it does lose its shine pretty quickly.

    • @nourson54

      The piece of junk you're talking about is enough for the job.... So why not save a buck?

    • @DKarkarov
      @DKarkarov Před 2 lety

      @@nourson54 because it isn't. I didnt call it a piece of junk because it is up to the task. If you get one and it doesn't leak or have obvious damage you got lucky. Look at all the tutorials on how to convert it then watch a video of that same person using a pressure pot. You will notice the harbor freight pot is normally never seen again or is on a shelf as a decoration, almost never will it actually be used.
