The central part of Kumasi was developed during British colonial days... The buildings are the same as you see in Accra, Cape coast, its true. The British brought similar designs to the then gold coast.. The thought of cars and vehicles as a major future transportation was not considered thus the small size roads. UK is and as a result of the small roads most of the road have been turned into one way streets. Central Kumasi or old part of Kumasi would benefit from such one way streets to make use of limited space. So yes it is mostly true with the way houses are so close to the roads and small pavements as well as the narrow roads.
