the mechanicus is one of the most interesting factions of the 40k universe, no artwork or models can really demonstrate just how absurdly augmented they are and in a world of incredibly human factions, the mechanicus stick out as like the exact opposite of the spectrum, and its perhaps ironic they're the representatives to some of the most remote and rural worlds out there when it comes to knight world and other feudal societies where the mechanicus recruits their knights and titan crews
I love that scene from the Fall of Cadia shorts. Where Belisarius Cawl is talking with the Necron lord on how to get the blackstone pylons working again. You would think an Adeptus Mechanicus like Cawl would have some admiration for a necron lord. He didn't. He was still willing to listen out of desperation though. Lol
Well, the sentient undead are an abomonation according to the Cult Mechanicus. So Cawl is merely using this weird simbiotic relationship for his own goals and that of the Mechanicum

Well to be fair +95% of all xeno faction interactions in 40k are all but gareenteed to result in harm to the humans. There is a reason why the death watch focus so heavily on them.
You'd probably have to have Death korps level gear just to walk by them at the least
I didn't realize that they were so radioactive. That's just sloppy engineering. They need better rad-shielding.....
Makes me wonder how they even maintain them, not to mention about the Tech-Priests that do all the updates to them... must be the most short-lived type of Tech-Priest in the universe.
The skitari sound like a variation of the titans from the dune series, different, but similar, these whom were once ppl had their brains removed and put in vats of fluid, which made it to where they could not die, only be killed. And they had all sorts of different forms the brain vat could be put in, 100 story military walker forms, space ship forms, generally when they used a regular human form it was to vivesec live humans. Anyone who likes sci fi and likes to read I highly recommend the dune series. It took me several years to finish, I believe its 18 books, when herbert the elder died he actually left manuscripts and herbert the younger finished the series. And did an amazing job. They made a movie, which is 1/4 of the 1'st book. Basically. I'm definitely hooked on warhammer lore but to anyone who reads, read dune, the whole thing.

Protip: the double "i"s in Skitarii is pronounced the same as Julii or Brutii (ee-eye). Together, it would be ski-tar-ee-eye
Derek H i isn’t pronounced as “eye” ever in latin. -ae is the only syllable pronounced like that
@@bernardi5919 I went to go look it up, and I've now realized I've been pronouncing "ii" wrong this whole time. Well, I guess later is better than never.
I've seen some differing opinions, but it seems like the i-ee pronunciation is the more favored one.
Depends on whether you intend to use Anglicized Latin or to come closer to the original pronunciation (which is a long “ee”).

The singular of skitarii is skitarius.
See I'm a bit confused, in the novel Titanicus by Dan abnett, the skitarii are portrayed as bestial men who are biologically augmented, almost having a wolf or dog like appearance, rather than cybernetic like in this video.
If I remember correctly the bestial part was about their behavior, they where given hormones to increase their violence or something like that, and he do describe them as having cybernetic augmentation for battle

Thought the C'tan where death harbingers not dragons(literal), because the dragon of mars is a literal dragon with the wings and breath of fire and all. And is said to be the reason that the people of mars are so tech savvy.

I love you guys. But your longer format videos lately have been very repetitive and monotonous. (Repetitive as in you repeat the same fact several times)
I noticed that they are just reading from the wiki. They could at least take the time to reformat their notes into something with a structure and more coherence, instead of just copy pasting information.
To be completely honest, I have been watching less for that exact reason. I'm definitely not trying to throw shade at OMS, but there are several other 40k channels that
seem to put in a lot more effort.
I mean, check up on pronunciation and flow pre/post editing and get rid of the sentences that repeat 5 times. There are times when they say something and then its repeated one sentence later. It is either a mistake or artificial lengthening. Either way, it's not a good look and when its combined with awkward mispronunciation and a topic that they have covered themselves 5 times already, it is bound to take a toll on views/engagement.
I believe in you OMS. You can do better.

Question: when I click on one of your videos and I get an ad before the video, does it matter if I skip it or let it run through? Does it change the amount of revenue the owner of the channel earns whether you let the whole ad run it's course or skip it as soon as you can? How does this work?

by the way if there's a double ii on the end of a word then the latin pronunciation means you need to pronounce both i's so for example spelt phonetically it should be, skitaree-eye
the actual pronunciation of the 2 i's is hotly debated but we know for sure that you are meant to pronounce both
