Very cool original REO truck back on its feet. Glade, you decided to keep it original.
Truck is looking good. Wayne appears to be a riot and always so happy.
It's really amazing how well-built that thing is. Heavy duty from end to end. I particularly like the greasable leaf spring pins and the heavy cast U-bolt plates. They weren't messing around!
Absolutely! Engineering from a bygone era
Man she is a beaut! Does look brand new from here for sure! Gonna be a cool rig!
I always grin when you say “Whoopee” and have gotten in the habit of saying it with you. Good work fellas.
😁👍
good to see youre helper back seems happy as ever
Haha Diff, a great job with great results. A friend offered his workers a work bench so they didnt have to squat so low to the ground. When he returned, the workers had cut the legs off the bench and they were all squating around the bench. Some people will never get it . Cheers!
They must have been Japanese! 😂
@@ratrodsafrica Korean but good guess
I love your helper's safety shoes, I hope he does not hurt his feet. This is a great build, I love the truck it is really cool.
The old heavy-duty machines like your Rio really show what heavy-duty means. What's next Diff... a tank maybe!? 😃 I enjoy each and every video, including the sounds of the forest. Keep them coming.
Getting to old for these heavy things!😅
You Guys work together, great! Good work, without much effort! Thanks Guys!
Great video Div. Thanks to you and the barefoot mechanic. Wheels on with with new tires always looks good. See ya next video.
That is going to one of The Nicest Ramp Trucks Anywhere.
Hi Diff. Careful now don't scratch that nice paint job ! My dear departed dad called those extra springs overload springs !
The truest way to pack a bearing 😊
Diff, I spent four days at Craigs place. We sat and watched you and Wayne reassemble the rear end. Some seriously heavy lifting.
Both of us agreed that the way you’re going is the right way.
As always, entertaining and educational.
Thanks.
Thanks for the approval😄
Div i"m convinced Wayne whipped his shoes off to dip them in that pot of grease😂 Great content by both you guys👍
😂👍
As an ex military man I have learned that when possible on a vehicle place the bolts so that the heads were pointing toward the front of the vehicle so that if the nut falls off the bolt has a better chance of not falling out. I have also learned to tighten the nus instead of the bolts because more resistance is in the bolt with it's contact area not only being in the bottom of the head but in the body of the bolt as well, it throws the torque off.
Great job Diff Thanks for the video's 👍
Great Job .........Professionals for sure!!!
Wayne is the man. Nice he helped you out.
Old girl looking really snazzy 👍
Great job men you guys work well together. This brings back a lot of memories of working on vehicles with my best friend for many years before he passed away.
That’s awesome , it’s looking great ! As always Thanks for another , Brother !!
What a lovely quality bit of chunky industrial machinery of old , and with your classic commentary , work and wit as always , bright and sunny day , glad you have your summer at last after your moist year , all the best Diff , and top work to you and ya buddy. 👍 😊
Reo is looking fantastic.
Thanks! That was awesome! I think you are definitely doing it the right way. It would look real cool to modify it, but the restoration way looks great. And since it’s a rare truck, that is the best way to go.
Too many people now are too eager to cut cars and trucks up.
I gave you a little more so maybe you can get the barefoot mechanic some slipper socks or at least a brew on me. 😂😂😂
Always love watching you guys!
Now you getting shares in the REO as well!! 😁 Thanks Harold! I will get Wayne some of his favorite brew, from you. He much prefers that over any foot coverings😄
Great job , thumbs up
Great job Div it looks great! Good to see you got help from your friend the barefoot mechanic 🤣👍
Great restoration job Diff. I have never seen a barefooted mechanic before! Lol....
Jayy!🎉🎉🎉 well done! Can't wait to come and have a look!
Looks Dam fine job. Will last fifty more years.. i would definitely weld tops of shackles to the top of the blocks and blocks to shackles.. one big Africa pot hole could make major problems. . Africa has no mercy..looks fantastic guys. Great team work..Lekka Boet Lekka. Have a good week.
Nah, been doing fine like that for 60 plus years, ain't going anywhere 🙂
Looking Good Guys...Thank you for sharing. Some serious hard labour working on that monster. My body is still sore from working on my F100 front suspension this past weekend. Not a spring chicken any more...lol. But was good fun, got the front suspension done. Wheels are on. Rear end assembly next.
Well done! Always nice to get some boots on them🙂 Worth the aches and pains...
Awesome evening brother from another country Awesome just awesome !!! I stand in awe with each adventure that we get to enjoy with you brother !!!!!! Always an enlightening experience have a lekka one brother
Hey diff, love it when wayne comes to help, he's a character, love this ep, this truck is massive, yes keep it originalas possible, cheers gr8 work
He is quite a character 🙂
And a steel plate with grease or oil on it makes the wheels slide on easy ! Little messy though! 👍
That’s the correct way to do the clamp type rim/tires 1/16” run out is perfect 👍
Not a bad idea!
I didn't know that a happy barefoot heavy mechanic could make me happy.
😂
Hey Div,
Now it is the best stopping REO in South Africa !
Soon to be one of the prettiest.
Take Care
It's the only one of this model as far as I can tell!
i love what youre doing,,a hot rodder / customizer always feels he need change so i realise how hard it is for you to bypass your feeling and restore a truly rare truck. power and much applause to you Sir..TY Div for great content
I grew up with a father who restored cars, so have that appreciation in my blood as well🙂
@@ratrodsafrica you had a great father Sir,ive seen your work..hed be proud ..cheers enjoy
Here in the Southeast call them wheel locks.. Great job guys !
LOOKS GOOD BROTHER!! Its always hard not to scratch the new bling lol .
You are a very talented person, and your barefooted mechanic is also, I really look forward to seeing all your work and the videos, I really appreciate you sharing with us, that is going to be a very special truck , have a great week, thanks again. Brian…
Thanks and pleasure!
It's nice to see nice paint on frame...👍
Good to see this one rolling! 😊👍👍
This s the best time when it all come together 😀👍
My 64 F250 wants that kind of attention! Great job men!!
Thanks 👍
lol your friend is always happy..
Yellow rims look great
Awesome job fellers! 5 star
Good job, its always Hard the First Time..😂😂👍
Going together well, looks brand new,,thanks for sharing, all the best to yous and your loved ones, have a Lekka one
7:40 While there are many ways to skin a cat (so to speak), I was taught by my late father to pack bearings by craping the grease off my palm into the rollers from the bottom and the top of the cage. This can more thoroughly pack grease between the rollers. I'm sure your way works fine. Cheers.
Nice work lads👌
I love the way you painted the frame, and great work. I enjoy watching your show.
2guys with a strap under the drum, one on each side, is how we do it ! The way you guys did it is definitely more entertaining! 😆 (usually we use an air-line that’s handy for the strap !) don’t tell the boss. 👍
Strap is a good plan. For young and strong guys😅
Hello Div, the REO really looking sweet, glad you decided to keep it original. 👍 The wheel clamps, my old boss and I called them gobbie knockers. (ha-ha) Have a Lekka one . 👍👍👍
😁👍
Well done that was so great to see!!
This is coming together great, nice job guy's
Looks good so far. Let it roll, guys ! Thanks for sharing.
Nice buddy. And that circus music cracks me up man. lol. Love that Ol Rig 👍🏻🤗✌🏻
Nice job that old truck looks sweet , love the colour combo . You two make a GREAT team lol ... Build On Bro's
Thanks 👍
Yooo!! Div!! Enjoyed the progress on your big rig!!! The laughter in the video is contagious!! I will say I was slightly disappointed until about half way through because the barefoot mechanic wasnt barefoot😂 but then he remembered his roots and made me happy 😂 Great accomplishment to have a roller with all those beautiful new and refurbished parts!! Great stuff boet!!
Thanks Dusty👍
Nice job the old girl is looking good 👍
Howzit my brother Diff...
Big parts are heavy.. the grunt noises help.. 😆,,,, good to see the barefoot mechanic wearing boots.. dem parts will take a toe pretty quick... Looks like things are progressing well.
👍😎💯
Great build, original is best in this one. Great truck. 👍
Thanks 👍
Ahhhh! Look how nice that all looks with a little paint on it. Wonder what a rat/rod would look like with a nice coat of paint like this. Hint, hint!
With shiny paint it won't be a rat rod anymore😀
Great job buddy. This truck is awesome and will catch lot of looks with only a handfull of them made!!!!!!!
Thanks 👍
Great job looks amazing 👏
Love it Diff, what awsome truck
Thanks 👍
Looking really good mate
Nice job!
Heavy labor 😂😂 looks good guys nice job 👍
Whoopie!
👍
Truck is coming along nice. I think keeping it stock is a good call just something about the driving experience of an old truck.
Awesome. Glad you did all of the chassis work to look new.
Thanks 👍
Yes Mr Diff coming around just fine she back on her feet and he was using his bare feet lol but good job 👍👍👍👍👍
Good job... Lekker to hear Piet my vrou bird in the back ground haven't heard one in a very long time..
Great job so far and having good help is priceless !! Can't wait to see it roll down the road .😊
Awesome job guy's. I really enjoy watching your channel. So freaking cool man.
Thanks 👍
Fantastic!
New or old, I love shiny parts. Like it just came out of a time capsule.
Dear Dif.
👍👌👏 Very well done (video, work and laughing). 😁 ;-) Everything you put together looks simply fantastic. I especially like the yellow rims. This kind of yellow is really nice. By the way: Interesting coincidence because Waylon Wire's old iron painted the truck rims of his Dirty Dozen rat rod yellow too.
As always: Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing.
Best regards luck and especially health to all of you.
Congrats on getting her back on her own boots. The unsprung mass on this baby probably exceeds the GVM of some current small passenger cars. Love it!
😂Probably !
Looks a bit pricy. A classic example of an account balance going South via a Reo Diero overdraft.
The Baretfoot Podiatrist seemed to have added the inclusion of a neuron aided, mind over matter, shoehorn to finally fit a pair, or two, of shoes to the wagon wheeled wonder. Pause, reflect, reboot, rearrange.. repaired. The retired engineering folks @ Dayton Ohio would approve.
It is now a pleasing fact that there is no weeble wobble when rubber hits terra firma. This is a testament to the skill of the Shoeless Automotive Aficionado so graciously and efficiently, coming to your assistance.
It is always a pleasure watching you, and your tribe, working in perfect unison to deliver to my screen top shelf, enlightening and entertaining video content via the info-vessle of CZcams.
Best to you and yours in every aspect of your life journeys going forward>>>>👍
As always, enjoy your prose🙂
Howzit Diff. Loving the build so far. Awesome work! You and Barefoot mechanic make a great team. Keep it up bru.
Awesome rig brother...glad to see it back running for you
For changing those drums take a piece of 6 inch c-channel, weld a piece of round stock to the bottom of the c-channel that will fit into the hole where the lifting pad is on the jack. the c=channel will cradle the drum and if you wish you can put a strap around the drum to secure it to the jack.
That will work well!🙂
One step closer to your goal!
Amazing job, everything looks brand new! A good worker is hard to find, you've got the best! Patient as a saint putting the seals in. I have no doubt it'll be just fine! 😊
Awesome job my brothers, well done and looks and rolls great. I hope you adjusted the brake shoe Clearnce while the tires were off the ground so you can turn them as make your adjustments , mike
Jip, we did🙂
Awesome job by the way brother !!!
Thank you kindly
Looking good bro,,its satisfying when you start putting them back together,,,,I spend my days restoring old vehicles ,,after a long time cleaning sanding and painting all the parts it's nice to start reassembly...can't wait to see you restore the cab,,I know how much you enjoy filler and bodywork😅😅
No filler for me! The cab will retain its history markings 🙂
@@ratrodsafrica ah ya have to do the proper restoration 😉🤣🤣🤣
Nice job Div
Looking good Diff but i would have put a little grease between the Hub and the yellow ring so it comes off easy next time just saying 😂😁😁🤘🤘🤘
Good work Div and Wayne
Thanks!
Libeing the pins help it all go together easier
We did grease them first🙂
Just getting caught up on vids today ,,, I enjoy seeing you and * Bearfoot * working together .. Always good to have extra help when working with heavy stuff .. Bearfoots * laugh always puts a smile on my face he reminds me of my uncle , who has the nickname "Animal" which comes from the Muppets ... lol
Great looking job guys. Excited for the next video!
Can't wait to see the ramp truck bed being built also I'd like to see how u made those retainer clips
Looking good 👍
Great job Gentlemen on getting her back on her feet. Those wheel combos are interesting. I heard somewhere that when you remove the wheel clamps you should slightly loosen them a bit but not remove the nut and then smack them with a hammer to get them to free up as they came build up a lot of tension over time. Loving the colors you are using with the black and yellow.
