Tallulah River GA "Half Slice On Water Guide"
Thanks for Watching!
www.americanwhitewater.org/co...
River Description
Gauge Description:
Flows are typically 500 cfs on Saturday and 700 cfs on Sunday of release weekends.
The gage is included for those who want to check back after a run, especially for those days when a 700-cfs release was planned, but Georgia Power actually released 1000 cfs.
This is a CL IV-V run and deserves the respect and paddler responsibility associated with this rating. Follow the AW safety code and enjoy paddlin' this Southern Jewel.
Releases on the first two weekends in April and first three weekends in November.
The gorge is reputed to have a gradient better than 200 ft/mi.
This is a river which requires Class-V skills. Most rapids can be read-and-run by V paddlers, though Oceana and some other rapids are usually scouted.
Directions: From Atlanta: take I-985 north and head for 365 north and Highway 23 and Highway 441. Tallulah Falls is located 12 miles north...

"Will you come and pull me out of here?" Best start to a slice video I've seen in awhile đ
yeah, that was funny the tube was not big enough for the boat sideways and I was seriously stuck it felt like it wasn't coming out...
Gonna watch this repeatedly till committed to memory, paddle harder stuff over the next year, pfd next fall. Mark it dude
Yeah for sure itâs a east one to plan for the lines are pretty straight forward and if not feeling Oceana easy walk on the left
Man, this makes me miss the Tallulah so much...though not the stairs!
It has not been released since 2019
@@WadeHarrison dang, for real. I can understand why y'all got in there so early in the morning! Must have been mayhem later on!
Fun!
Always a quick treat
Yes rewind time
Yeah dragging this one back out
First
Always
Okay I can only get a rewind or an Antix 2.0 where I live. I have paddled an antix 1 almost totally, however I went to Costa Rica and they only had an axiom. I liked the speed of the axiom but missed the playfulness of the antix, does the rewind fix that, or does the antix 2.0 pick up any speed. Having paddled both, would you say one stands out over the other? I have never had a chance to paddle a rewind or the antix 2.0, and there is not really a place here that lets you, so I would appreciate your opinion. In the end I suppose it doesn't matter, because they are both great boats.
Rewind Is a perfect mix of speed down river and playfulness not as fast as the axiom and not as playful as the antix but a good mix
@@WadeHarrison Thank you, So from what I gather the difference between the two the speed vs playfulness? Maybe I should just buy both, wish I could.
I've paddled aggressively at the charlotte white water center for the past year and a half (average of about 2.5 times a week through the summer) and have a real solid role and the only real river I've run is the new river gorge back in august. Am I being fooled by the go pro effect on this river or should I wait to hit some other rivers before going this weekend for a 500 cfs release? It looks like an incredible run and I'm getting tired of waiting for rain lol.
Itâs hard for me to tell anybody I never paddled with they be ok on a river but if you have a solid toll and a good guide and scout you would be ok
Wade, where do you do most of your paddling. Not where do you live but what state for kayaking? TODAY it was 57 for a high temperature. Don't know if I can do that. That was the air temp not the water. I'm getting old bud. 69 If I go I want to practice my roll.
I currently live in the Southeast USA but travel all round If rivers and waters are flowingâŠ
@@WadeHarrison thanks. Really enjoy your videos.
Have you done a review on the rewind ? What's it like compared to the scorch or code.
It's a half slice and they are not??? đ€·ââïžđ€·ââïžđ€·ââïžđ€·ââïž
I have several rewind videos and that was one of my first on water review I didnât really know how I was going to do them so itâs really bad but I did do a few follow ups on paddling and walkthrough and compare videos below are some links and as for scorch and code they are drastically different so really should not compare those. Thanks for watching

What are the dates in April I would love to run it
pretty much like every Saturday and Sunday there is a release
Watch out for Wade! He'll slice and shred a river like lettuce at a Taco Bell.
Oh for sure đ
You got stuck đ
Lol that tube is just wide enough for a rewind I actually thought I was stuck bad by the way it felt
