That sounds exactly like the pitch I got from Shelter. I did give to them for a while (I had been thinking about giving to a homeless charity before this anyway), but I swapped to a different charity when they did an ad with a thatcherite landlord...
For anyone wondering, the main cause of homelessness (or at least what the guy told me) was young people growing up in children's homes getting kicked onto the street once they were too old.
As a bisexual I will say I'm not ashamed to admit that I've used the "I'm sorry I'm gay" comment to ward off people asking for my phone number before. Its not technically true but its also not technically a lie either.
Yeah, never ever sign up to a charity that doesnt give you a chance to do your due diligence. There are plenty of shady or just inefficient charities out there, Im guessing the ones that have people nagging you on the spot are probably going to be among that group.
I think his third thing was going to be asking if you want to join his cult, so maybe it's best you walked away lol

It almost sounds like he knows who you are and was hitting on you but also was trying to pitch a charity for you to sponsor with your influence/platform.

It’s seems like he was probably a nice guy just shooting his shot and he really fumbled it, but also he shouldn’t have been talking about the charity if his intention was to ask you out. Maybe he’s had success with that strategy in the past, either way kinda weirdge, the whole asking to see your chest tattoo feels… weirdge, like I usually would only ask that or someone who I’d been on a date with or at the very least wait till they respond positively to me asking them out, but it could also just be that he really thought it looked cool and didn’t even realize what he was asking you to do. Idk 🤷♀️ if it were me I’d compliment the tattoo, express my interest in you and ask you out, the charity feels like something you talk about over coffee and trying to rizz up a patron is kinda unprofessional
