Hey Techne. I’m a bit confused;
In your standalone review of the Ath-g1 you said that the sound was “phenomenal” You even said “when paired with the Soundblaster g6, it’s the best headset you’ve heard to date”
The title of the vid even had a “spoiler” that it was “amazing”
I know that you’ve listened to many different headphones since then, but I don’t see how you can have such differing views on what you explain is essentially the same sounding product.
I’m honestly not having a dig, and hate to sound rude. But it was just very strange to hear polar opposite descriptions.
Still love your reviews regardless. You’ve influenced many of my purchases over the years 🫡
If I’m using a dac for gaming / discord calls. It only has a single 3.5mm input the handles the mic input and sound output. If I buy the xlr version will I be able to just use the 3.5mm and leave the xlr terminal unhooked and it will work properly?
Should compare these with the XLR version as well and see if that sound your hearing is still there. A comparison between the 3 headsets would be cool to see

And I love ur reviews because you don’t mumbo jumbo about confusing specs and complain about graphs and stuff you use raw experience.
I know it's a bit late, but could it be the cushions affecting the sound? I know I've used different cushions on certain headphones to change the sound to my liking. Kinda like a natural EQ. The m50x are sensitive to this. Which is why certain companies had to make specific cushions for them to maintain their sound signature.

The cushions definitely affect the sound. A more detailed CZcams review even did a lab test between the two cushions showing the frequency curve. It's disappointing this wasn't mentioned here. Do NOT LIKE

I wonder if there's a stuff to apply on the headband to prevent flaking, moisturizer or something ?
Just replace it with a soulwit pu leather replacement.
Looking to upgrade after my latest fiasco buy of the Corsair Void Elite Wireless Gaming Headset. Biggest piece of s**t headset. Never had so many issues with a computer related item xD.
On another note. I really enjoy the format you use to explain the bad and good, specially about the headsets, makes it super clear and if I need to find out specific things about a headset, its usually on your
channel.

bro, have your tried watching movies with Atmos on the Maxwell? How does it performs besides gaming?
yeah I have been messing with atmos a bit lately. I'm not a big fan of software tweaking, but man I am having a blast

The pads will change the characteristics of the headphone... the pads you don't like will give the headset less bass, making it sound more to your liking.

hello sorry if this is about another headset but i've been really wondering how does the audeze maxwell compared to your main epos h6 pro soundwise?
The mic doesn't strictly need a windscreen, it needs a SHORTER boom arm. There's no reason for it to be in the airstream like that. I don't know why every manufacturer makes this same mistake.
As to the sound... well not much lost, M50x sound terrible anyway, well shaped response overall, fun, but painful sibilance, void above 12k. It's half to 2/3rds of a good pair of headphones.
Even with WC I still find the arctis nova pro are pretty uncomfortable not related but I have been using them for a few months now and really wish I hadn't gotten them.
Yeah novas 7 are also awful after a couple hours of playing
Same but I have the Audeze Penrose. After maybe 30mins of having them on, my top head starts to burn and there are some pressure points on my ears. Now the sound quality is freaking amazing but I have to change their position quite often which is annoying

Also this headphone might not suit you to review and that’s ok but it would be great if you can review an akg n700nc m2 it’s actually the one I use and I’m rlly happy with it I think you should take a good look at them

It's interesting that someone who makes videos about this type of stuff who doesn't know the difference between an analog headset and an active headset. All the ATH-M50x series use the same exact headphones. They all use the same exact drivers. The difference in the USB version (and wireless version) is that they have a built in audio interface. This is why they show up as their own audio device in the OS. The audio interface uses DSP to manipulate the sound. That's 100% based one how it's programmed from the developers and any software tools the manufacturer gives the consumer access to. This is contrast to the standard analog M50x which relies on whatever device it's connected to for signal processing. It has no active processing. This should already tell you everything you need to know about why they sound different and how someone should approach choosing a headset.

Interesting conclusion. Quite the opposite of other reviewers so far. Here are my five cents:
Best headset mic on the market, sidetone, comfortable, durable construction and decent sound.
Personally I think the sound from the headset mic was more pleasing then the sound from your studio mic.
I don’t care if the sound is not exactly like the M50X (did you try both pads btw?). There is nothing even close to this in the market right now. Just waiting for these to get in stock locally.
i would say Audezee Maxwell are better for the mic and probably all around as well

I really wanted to grab the USB version but both that and XLR variant unfortunately come with permanent cables. It's kinda shocking why AT made that decision, but I will be waiting for either v2 with a detachable cable, or a standalone microphone release that can be attached to another set of headphones.

Also Redragon (H848) dropped an interesting headset that kind of replicates the Logitech G435 but with a detachable microphone and wired mode for $35.
Is G435 any good to begin with? I heard earlier Logitech headsets and was not fond.

I did love the G1's when I covered them, and I wouldn't say I';m crapping on them, but maybe just peeing on them. This is the great thing about technology, it always gets better.
@@TheTechne What do you mean it gets better. You're using headphones released 15 years ago as a reference and saying these suck in comparison. They're so well aged you don't have a single molecule of original pleather on them. A lot of things are just surprise bullseye for one reason or another and "improvement" is the last thing one is looking for, especially in acoustic technology.
best headphones you can get them used and perfect for setero imaging, 90 percent of thes gaming headphones are a scam get producer headpphones much better

Honestly I always found the ATH-M50x to have waay too much bass.
So many better headphones to buy for around the same price. They were always overrated.
