  • In this video, I'm diagnosing and repairing an IKEA FIXA 7.2V battery drill that was not spinning continuously. The entire issue was really quite interesting as I haven't seen it happening until now. Additionally, I go over all of its parts so you can more easily fix yours in case it gets broken.

Thank you very much! My drill was barely moving and sparks + smoke was coming out when barely pressing the trigger. I cleaned it as explained in this video and it works again!

Hi there, thank you for sharing this.
I have the same drill, and the transistor labeled Q2 has blown. Do you have the reference of this component ?
    Thank you.

No, unfortunately not as this was from a friend of mine. However, I think it will probably be a mosfet and not a transistor. Maybe try and replace it with a generic one?

I'm not sure. Check your local IKEA website.

Thanks, I opened mine as it was very slow.
I do not know why but an eight Philips screw popped out once I opened it and I cannot figure out where it comes from. Ideas?
Once open, the engine worked well, so opened the part towards the tip and greased the gears. I fear I put too much of it as I cannot close the four small screws without blocking the engine.

Make sure that everything is aligned properly. Grease shouldn't be an issue unless it is some very thick one.

@@TasteTheCode Thanks! Actually, I have noticed that if I tighten the four small screws joining the motor and the gear, it stops working. If I slightly loosen the screws (like just 1 turn) it gets back to work very fine.

    Mine its not charging :/

That can be caused by a number of reasons but I would suggest that you first check the charger and from there trace the voltage inside the drill. A broken connector or cable is the usual suspect.

I don't understand mine is new and it's not spinning anymore

      Hmmm is it charged?

@@TasteTheCode yes it's charged. I used it on the wall and it stopped. Still spinning inside but outside It doesn't move anything. Just a loud noise

It's fixa 14,4 am I wrong to use it on the wall?

    • @TasteTheCode
      @TasteTheCode  Před 4 lety

Sounds like a broken gear. I don't think that is fixable. :(

    • @TasteTheCode

These are meant to be use for screwing only. The wall drill might have put in too much force onto the gearbox.
