Oh boy this song is just the epitome of perfection for me.
I am a big Nothing More fan boy and this is now my favourite track from them
This song is better than s@x no lie.
It's just straight "ear gasm" the vocals and the melodies just blend together so perfectly that just continues to build up..just perfection.
Especially the middle to end part. It was so good it made me learn how to levitate off the ground.
You guys definitely have to listen to more.. NOTHING MORE!
I’ve been a huge fan of rock/metal for about 15 years now, found them and they quickly became my favorite band within a few short months. They’re awesome!

“Isn’t it interesting that we give the same name to something holy and something wholly intoxicating?” asks Nothing More front man Jonny Hawkins. “The song ‘SPIRITS’ describes that very conundrum. When you drink liquor, it has been said that you are welcoming that pneuma (spirit) into your body. Most of us have seen and experienced how alcohol (or rather ‘al-ghawl,’ which means demon/spirit) can make us feel. It’s almost as if we turn into someone else when too much of the spirit has been consumed. Sometimes it’s eye opening and can lead to wondrous life-changing conversations or bonds that would never normally happen…and sometimes it can lead to the exact opposite. It may turn us into Dr. Hyde’s Jekyll and cause us to do or say horrific things we would never normally do sober. Spirits are both a little bit heavenly and a little bit sick.”
- I couldn't agree more Jonny, I've had some good times with alcohol in general, but laid off hard liquor after it almost killed me and almost made my marriage never happen, I morphed into someone else after enough spirits.

Man idk if anyone else said this but the lead singer used to be a straight drummer I can’t remember what bad it was for or if It was for this one but he went from an amazing drummer to an amazing vocalist

This song is about alcohol… per Johnny Hawkins.
What is the message of the song?
Spirits = heavenly/celestial beings. But spirits = alcohol. It's a contrast of how the word represents two conflicting concepts with how alcohol is both bliss and torture. As far as the art, the best explanation for that is their video. "nothing more spirit test" should get you there.
Demonic. I'm sad for their souls. Great music, wrong god.
You gotta pay closer attention to the song... it's not demonic at all. It's pointing out how people can turn to alcohol, drugs, or get stuck in other mental health issue and go down a terrible spiral mentally relying on it for happiness that is just fooling them and making them sicker. The spirit part is both referring to alcohol as well as what they are imagining as they grow less mentally stable and listen to bad inner voices, if you will.
