    I only put my rain sock when it's raining. I put a powder sock on my snowmachine and it restricted the air flow massively.

    They have a spray oil which is easier by the looks.

    excellent video. I have a doubt. what happens on rainy days? if the filter gets wet? Is there any chance of water getting in the cylinders?

      Yes there is a chance, they make little tight mesh socks that cover the filter and have an elastic band that keeps it tight

      Yeah they’re not supposed to get wet , got a rain sock cover for the breather

    Appreciate the video, you put the rain sleeve on temporarily so the oil doesn’t drip, it that right

      Hey thanks for the sub, more videos coming very soon. Mainly put the sock on to see what it would look like and to protect from debris in the garage.

    I have a filter just like this one and I’m having problems with rain being sucked into the breather. I’ve cleaned it and oiled it like you have shown. I even have a rain cover on it but riding in rain my engine runs ruff and wants to die. Anybody else having this problem?

    • @richardlepack7250
      @richardlepack7250 Před 3 lety

      I’ve seen that before in heavy rain, if your rain cover isn’t tight, it sucks water through the rear bottom of the cover.

      I’m stupid and ride in heavy rain without a cover. Haven’t had problems yet🤡

  • @amazinggraceministrychurch3385

    How did you clean the Rust off of the Chrome cap

    • @twinsmotogarage1866
      @twinsmotogarage1866  Před 4 lety +2

      Amazing Grace Power ministries I used very fine 0000 steel wool. I want to say I used a little WD40 on a rag too.

    • @twinsmotogarage1866
      @twinsmotogarage1866  Před 4 lety +1

      Amazing Grace Power ministries I had to be very careful with the steel wool not to remove the logo etching. Left very small swirls or scratches. Very hard to notice and looks much better than before. In my first vid at around the 5-6 minute mark I show a good before and after.

      At the Harley shop I work at we use a chrome polish used bike getting ready for the floor and just work it around the surface. It usually doesn't do anything to the logo.

    How often should I do this?

    • @kazadventures
      @kazadventures Před 3 lety

      Depends on how dusty your environment is and how frequently you ride.

      I have not cleaned mine in a year. Stupid, I know. But I recently noticed it turned longer before it fired up on start ups. That led me to believe that I wasn't getting enough air on start up. Time to clean

  • @CUZ_2
    @CUZ_2 Před 3 lety

    Trying to fathom why an air-cleaner needs oiled. To catch dirt maybe?

    • @richardlepack7250
      @richardlepack7250 Před 3 lety +1

      Yes! Dust will stick to the oil vs going through the filter and into the engine!

    If you're not going to manually focus, why won't you set camera to auto focus? 100% of this video is out of focus and useless.

    • @twinsmotogarage1866
      @twinsmotogarage1866  Před 2 lety

      Yeah this was my second video ever. My bother insisted that we use his “new” fancy camera to shoot the video. The camera was supposed to have an auto focus but it wasn’t working, obviously. I mainly use a GoPro 8 now.

  • @jayonez137

    Just buy a new K&N filter brother.

  • @raidernation4life854
    @raidernation4life854 Před 3 lety +1

    You don’t clean the air filter from the inside out. You go in the direction the air flows.

    • @twinsmotogarage1866
      @twinsmotogarage1866  Před 3 lety +8

      Ahh yes, shove the dirt and debris further into the filter. Why didn’t I think of that.

    • @richardlepack7250
      @richardlepack7250 Před 3 lety +5

      I disagree! By spraying water from the inside out you are pushing the debris out of the filter, not further into the filter material.
