Ralph is a diligent, efficient employee at his office. A hard worker, he finds himself stuck in an endless cycle of tasks and deadlines, and the idea of going home for the day begins to recede into the distance.
But he has a time-sensitive secret that makes overtime a tough proposition for Ralph. And when it comes out, all hell breaks loose for Ralph, redefining what it means to have a bad day at the office.
Stylishly shot and narratively tight, this comic horror short, directed by Craig D. Foster, has plenty of visual aplomb, wit and bite to keep viewers engaged. The pace of the film is nimble, quick and sure-footed, complete with flashes of humor and romance that add dimension.
Like many great horror films, the craftsmanship of the film is excellent: the camera is always where it needs to be to create the most dramatic impact, the performances are perfectly calibrated and the editing keeps everything humming along, creating a compelling and even gripping experience.
But ultimately, this short film is highly relatable, taking a situation that many workers are familiar with and injecting it with great fun, enjoyment and maybe even a little wish fulfillment. With aplomb and panache, OVERTIME is an energetic, impeccably crafted romp through how work never seems to end, how we sometimes want to throttle our co-workers -- and how our needs bump up against the dictates of the office, to superbly comic effect.
The lesson is, if you meet someone who keeps to themself and wants to be left alone. Respect that in case they're a werewolf

@Vlasko60 well he doesn't exactly have control of his body then right, it's his instinct and nature as a warewolf that makes him kill, if we can interpret it in real life examples
He would be a killer that suffers from a mental disorder, not exactly aware and intentional in his killings, mean while murderers with concious intent have full realization and intent to kill their victims, excluding murder in self defense of course

Still though, even if it's all these factors that drives them to kill, it doesn't excuse like for examples killing innocent people right?, because those people didn't do anything to this person, and assuming he took the decision to kill them, he killed them conciously and with a want to kill and hurt them

When she first looked up at the camera after he sniffed her, I wondered if she was thinking of a harassment claim.....
I thought she would use the footage for blackmail in future.

This is a good comedy. Ironically Ralph was trying to save everyone by restraining himself, while everyone else thought it would be good for him to cut loose every once in a while. Welp.

As an introvert with social anxiety, there are times I just need my alone time & space from people; How delicious to see an example of those boundaries being crossed turned into a werewolf feast, when good 'ol Simon was just trying to do what was best for everyone, but they wouldn't let that happen! I love how, in movies like this, you see more the second time around. He uses red ink, the stapler with fangs, the shredder.
Brilliantly done--the writing, acting, cinematography, plus an original take on a very old type of monster. Bravo!
It fizzled out for me when they gave away the twist not even three minutes in.

I really liked all the clues that were provided to uncover Ralph's identity. The watch showing it was Friday the 13th, his key ring had the head of a wolf and a large canine tooth, he asked Siri for the moonrise's time, his bloody flashbacks in the elevator, the astronomical force he possessed to move the car. The canines, nails, and hair growing. His identity developing as the moon rose and he drove home. His efforts to chain himself to avoid a massacre, to the final fatal revelation of his secret to everyone. Happy birthday Ralph! 🎉
The stapler at 0:05 resembled a wolf baring his teeth as well!

Ahhh..the delightful screams at the end! This was such a good film. I felt sorry for the poor fella, just trying to make it home to chain himself up before turning into a wolf so he wouldn't kill anyone. Only to be surprised by his whole office..it was too late then! Ahahahahaha...

I get that this is supposed to he a comedy, but I just find it incredibly sad.
Like dude was trying so hard to protect everyone from himself, and in the end, despite his best efforts, he ended up killing most of his coworkers, the girl he had a crush on, and his own parents!
Maybe I'm just too emotional but I definitely dont find that funny.
Still really liked the film tho. It was super cool. Just not really a comedy imo

This was good. the plot could have gone in several directions well into the movie. This particular ending was, "oh I should've seen it coming!"
This was comedic, dark, frustrating, and suspenseful at the same time

I thought this was pretty good, but I found the elevator part weird. The lady kept looking at the camera so I don't know if it's because she was supposed to distract him, or wanted an audience or what.
J H she asked her friend to purposefully stop the elevator
The ploy was to stall him so they could get everyone to his house for the surprise, but at the same time she did seem to like him and was intending to seduce him. I imagine it was an agreement between her and the lift operator to get them stuck and give the guy "an early birthday present" (no one else had to know what happens in the elevator). Normally that would be one of the hottest experiences one could imagine, just not in this particular case haha.
A well-made, concise rehash of an honored storyline. Really, really good and showed great but humorous tension and fielded a sharp ending.
