Otherwise that thinking part takes a lot of time as we all are full of brainfarts in the morning and tend to think/decide way longer than usually

    I agree 110%. I used to hate mornings, now I hate not having my me time. Ive developed almost the same routine, except mine is two hours and I try to fit in yoga or walking the dog, interchangeably. I started to really value this alone, self nurturing time. It has made me a more calm person. Rushing out the door is starting the day off in chaos. If Im really short on time, then I choose between journaling, meditating and yoga, whichever I feel I could benefit the most. This routine works great for me when Im working, but not so great for me when Im in school, because Im a late night studier. So Im going to have to figure out what works while in medical school.

    It blows my mind to think that there are actually people out there without what feels like a million mental health issues who watch videos like these and afterwards are able to tell their friends things like "you know, I've implemented this new morning routine. I've been doing it for a couple of months and it has really improved my energy levels and productivity".
    I mean, go you! But I really only have to focus on the little things (like making my bed, showering, getting groceries - which I manage about twice a months if I'm lucky) because it's so hard to go beyond that. And it might be just the bubble I'm in but it seems like I only talk to people who struggle with similar problems. Videos like these are certainly helping some people out there, I'm sure. But they're also making me feel very anxious and guilty about all the things I'm not able to do. Yes, I don't NEED to watch them, of course, but when you're in a state like this, videos with titles like "how to improve" or "how to get better at" (you name it) are like a magnet because of this constant awareness that there is something wrong with the way you live your life.
    I don't even know why I'm writing this comment, is it a complaint or am I looking for reassurance...I don't know.

    • @kimberlywills7219
      @kimberlywills7219 Před rokem +6

      The part of this that I'd start with, because I know someone who was very depressed and this helped (it's a common thing, not just from this video) is to write down 3 things you'll do that day, and check them off. And to make new connections in your brain, say something after each one, like "I accomplished a goal". Look at the list later and say again after each one, "I accomplished a goal!". Even if those 3 things are a shower, one decent meal, picking up all your clothes, throwing away 10 pieces of garbage (if your place is a mess), walking around the house or apt building, or even just stepping outside for a minimum of 3 deep breaths... small things. And you don't have to shower every day, so stop feeling guilty about that. Put it on your list 3-4x a week and use a washcloth if you need to in between (seriously, lol!). The items should be *small*, so you are able to do them. The key is to cause your brain to see that you are capable of saying you'll do something and doing it. You must write it, and cross it off, and say something after, even if it's just repeating what you did, "I picked up my clothes!". Food shopping is quite a big task. One day make a list. The next day go shopping, and only put away the cold things in the fridge. Leave "put away non-perishables" for the next day's list.
      Hope you are doing well. 🙂

    • @stephj2788
      @stephj2788 Před rokem +2

      One thing I found helped me keep from falling into a rut when I first left home was to write down 3 things that went well at the end of the day. Some days I really struggled to find them, and would put things like "I bought groceries", but I always found something, even if I had to look hard.
      This video mentions reducing friction, that can come in many ways. Like sometimes dentist say to just start by flossing 1 tooth. It feels so stupidly small a task that it is suddenly more approachable, and you can then work from there once you are getting used to doing it. A ladder with many small steps, taken one at a time, is much easier to climb than one where the rungs are extremely spaced out.
      I will say though, it sounds like you're in a particularly hard place at the moment and could benefit from some outside help. Be that talking to your GP about checking bloods and maybe medication, seeing a therapist, or confiding in a friend. I hope you can find a way forward that works for you.

    • @manbiteslife3110
      @manbiteslife3110 Před rokem

      the thing is that these are just suggestions, if you already feel happy with how your day progresses you're fine. Some people just need an extra boost, others can be productive just by waking up and reading/working. I personally get so much power from a good routine. I wake up early and feel like I have the whole day ahead and I feel like I do so many more things than when I wake up late. That's just 1 perk. I also do cold showers and run 20 minutes every morning and this gets me in a great mood . I make my breakfast and then I am able to work, in like 40 minutes time from waking up, I have trained, showered and eaten breakfast and I'm ready and clean for the day. I never make my bed , and I also heard it's bad because you are trapping hymidity and bacteria under the sheets anyway, but I never felt that it helped my anyway. I just jump in the same bed at night anyways. also at the end of the day it helps when I write what I should do the next day as like a to do list.

    Okay, now for the serious comment...
    First off: I dont know what's making your content so sassy lately, but I dig it! Keep it up. It's awesome.
    Over the years I started applying some these routine steps without thinking much about it. I'd realise that using my phone in the morning would fuck my mood up and just stopped doing that. Eating would make me feel bloated and uncomfortable, and since in Germany we had to work with corpses every morning for a couple of semesters, feeling the food in your stomach wasn't a great plan, so i automatically stopped eating breakfast. I would combine some stretching with mindfulness exercises and I'd feel like I could move mountains - which I did. Studying Medicine + rocking three jobs + experimenting with some CZcams videos + working out + making time for my hobbies and relationships.
    And you know what?! I wouldn't be SHIT if I hadn't found your channel years ago, learning how to manage my time and work on my system to achieve my goals. Insane. Thank you for helping me (and many others!)

    A really strong advice that i can give you, you the viewer: Whenever you go to sleep: Think of what you did in the day. First describe it only and then analyse it / say what you liked about the activities you did and what not.
    After that IMAGINE how tomorrow the day will look like. And at the end think of what you want to change from your completed day for tomorrow and or repeat the same action.
    This might save you lots of sleeping issues and GREATLY improve:
    -Productivity
    -Motivation / additional courage
    -More joy, less sorrow
    -More addaptation
    EDIT: Oh and whenever you have to do something that makes you feel scared or not courageble enough (like job interview, presentation before class etc) think of what the worst thing could happen after that.
    EDIT 2: I take back what I said. After comming back to this comment that I made years ago, I find it kind of cringe. The first 2 repplies under my initial comment support my current statement. I don't know, just come up with your own solution and hope you will solve your problems evntually

    I can deeply relate to the “wake up early” thing. I graduated engineering last year, and for three of my 5 years in college, I purposely woke up 2-3 hours earlier than needed just so I wouldn’t have to rush things. I also spend at least 5 minutes everyday doing nothing, just literally staring at nothing. Sometimes this caused me to have only 3 hours of sleep for the whole day but it was worth it for me. I didn’t like rushing myself lol

    Stop checking social media as the first thing in the morning is the key to start a good day. Previously when I didn’t notice this and started my day with checking my phone, it always made me depressed and ruined my whole day. Now I quit this bad habit and feel much better.
    I start to do 5-10mins ear training(music related) after wakeup. The memory in the morning is the best, so it makes me more familiar with the notes. After that I take a shower to kind of higher my metabolic rate. Then eat breakfast with BBC global news podcast.

    I find mornings a perfect time for studying/reading while drinking tea. The calmness and the complete silence helps me to focus on the task. There are no distractions, no friends messaging you (because they are sleeping), no one can tell you what needs to be done housework wise etc. It also helps me to set a productive note for my day.
    Waking up early also helps with the beginning of the day - I'm fully awake when the schoolday starts (no more half-sleeping during the first lesson)

    I recently got an internship and I need to wake up two hours earlier than I normally do, so this video came at the right time.
    1. Starting proactive - Guess I should extend the DND on my phone to 30min after I wake up, so I won't see notifications when I first open my eyes even if I try.
    2. Organisation - Well, I always keep my room tidy so I don't feel like I accomplished a task when I make my bed. Come to think of it, I don't have anything in my morning routine that feels like I did the first task of the day.
    3. Nutrition - I always wake up so dehydrated that I always need to drink something in the morning. Looking forward to the nutrition video, since nutrition is so complicated and I don't know what to believe or practise.
    4. Activity - I need this. My posture and flexibility are awful. Any suggestions for this type of exercise without equipment? I'm sharing a room with my brother so I don't have any space to roll around on the floor.
    5. Mindfulness - I find meditation and mindfulness practices to be very difficult. When I sit down and focus on my breathing, I end up having breathing difficulties and becoming quite uncomfortable after a few minutes.
    6. Reflection - This sounds really helpful. I usually keep my goals as a mental checklist and of course I'll usually forget them. I've tried doing something like this before but I never stuck with it, so I'll try to pick this habit up again.
    Loved the humour. Edit: I have no idea how people can get ready in 20min or less. I always give myself an hour so I can sleepily stumble my way around the house.

    I have my morning routine too, since a while now, and what I could add to this great video, for people who want to start:
    - It's normal to feel "lost" at the beginning.
    - Also, your first routines won't be perfect, streamlined, efficient... they'll be messy, unnecessary long and uncomfortable. Be gentle with yourself and improve it day by day until, at some point, a couple of weeks after maybe, it becomes an automatized moment in your day, truly pleasant and rewarding.
    - Your routine actually begins the evening before going to bed, you'll see ;)
    - My routine is totally different from yours @kevin, and so is everybody's. Don't compare with anybody. It took me weeks to figure out mine. This is the hardest part, I think. Quick tip: Write down what you love the most in life, what you want to achieve, and break it down to put a very tiny slice of it in your routine. Made me write a book! Haha. Never imagine I could do that one day.
    - You must accept that it's YOUR moment, you have the right to have it. Embrace it, enjoy it, have fun, don't be afraid. It's not a coincidence that it changes the life of everybody doing it, right?

Think that you shit yourself. 4. stand up and just stare into the wall until you feel WOKE 5. Yell in a different language just because 6.Put an alarm sound that gives you anxiety and scares you awake so bad that you can’t sleep anymore because of how fast your heart is beating. i’ve tried 6... it works

    Dr. Jubbal: here is the anatomy physiology pathophysiology and histopathology of a perfect morning routine at 3am
    Me: unmade bed, dirty clothes all over the floor, don't exercise or meditate, haven't drank pure water in 18 hours
    Also me: omg I just CAN'T figure out why is my life such a mess????

    I love how this guy doesn't mess around while being playful enough to keep you intrigued and actually want to listen rather than a "boring" creator listing tips in a way that you could say is too nice or equal to a school teachers manner.
