I love rewatching your videos but i miss your beautiful music on this one.
I just found your channel. I LOVE it. Started with the ones from 2, 3, and 4 years ago. Now this one! I'm going to search for more.
Thank you!🌸
So nice to see your blooms... Aly's Blizzard Bunny is always blooming lol
Gorgeous show! :) TY
Thank you!🌸
You had some pretty girl leaf ones in this video. I need to add one to my collection. Very interesting how the same name plant can look different from different growers. .
Thank you! Love girl foliage AVs!
What is pretty girl leaf?
@@cathygreen3771Girl leaves refer to the African Violet leaf shape. Will make a video about it, stay tuned!
You have some beautiful violets my favorite ones are variegated and flowers with a green edge how often do you fertilize ?
Thank you! Mine are fertilized on continuous feed, check out this video for more info: czcams.com/video/qqmRHHf3NNw/video.html
I have a question for you. Do you know why African Violets look sad after they are done blooming? They look nice and lush just prior to the spring booming and after they look so beat up! Mine are on the wick and continuing feed with the Jack’s African violet fertilizer.
Blooming takes up a lot of energy from the plant. When done, I usually remove spent blooms and older leaves, and repot them into fresh potting mix, to give them a fresh start.
@@grayturtleviolets I do clean my African Violets weekly too, but I only repot when they start having a long “neck”, I didn’t realize they need to be repotted after every heavy blooming.
I love your videos so much! They've been really helpful & I've been taking notes, lol! I'm growing violets in my dart frog vivariums & they've done way better than any of my violets before. I just wish mine looked like yours! I love the set up. Could you tell me what lighting you'd recommend for a smaller collection? I'm not sure where to begin. How do you maintain humidity? How did you know that one violet didn't like wick watering? Thank youuuu
Appreciate your feedback! In this video, I talk about growing conditions for African Violet miniatures, I grow standards the same way, just in bigger pots, 3-4 inches: czcams.com/video/DdzCs3rr63c/video.htmlsi=Bjg53E_vOK2Wz-8K. Videos about lights, humidity, and more, are on my African Violet Care playlist. There are many grow light options on Amazon, I just got Barrina full spectrum grow lights for new stands, 3 ft long, T5, they work great! For wick watering, I watch the crown centers, those that don't like growing on wicks, sometimes lose their centers due to excess moisture in the wick watering setup, but most violets love it. Happy growing!
Always wonderful to see your monthly videos 😍
Have you ever had an issue with mites infesting your collection? If not how have you avoided the microscopic pests? Would love to see a ‘how to’ video on pest prevention. 🙏🌸
Thank you! Check out this video for my pest prevention care: czcams.com/video/FR3srOXimVY/video.html, with product links in the video description.

My AV are growing smaller and smaller with tight centers sometimes. Any advice?
I would look into three things: nutrient imbalance (see this video: czcams.com/video/YbAROKrhDW0/video.html), insect infestations (thrips, mites, mealy bugs), and overall care (see my African Violet Care playlist).
I want to know why my bottons. are falling from plant, thanks !
It might be due to various reasons, including nutrient deficiency, especially phosphorus needed for healthy blooms, low air humidity, insufficient light - to name a few. Check out my African Violet Care playlist for more info!
Hello, I repotted my AVs using the wicking method that you described in a video, and the soil got moldy on top. What did I do wrong?
It’s hard to tell without seeing it. Might be two things: (1) mycorrhizae growth - not harmful, you can remove top layer and replace with fresh potting mix; (2) botrytis mold/ gray mold - harmful, use fungicide spray, remove plant from old soil, wash root ball thoroughly, and repot to fresh potting mix.
