This demonstration segment uses a zinc white (mixing white) layer for the background while waiting for the recent unsuccessful paint layers to dry on the Dodecahedron. The white paint is used in the background with little to no water to create a slightly opaque finish. However, once again, mixing white is still more translucent than regular titanium white, so it is buildable and lets the previous layers peek through. Note that zinc white or mixing white is not ideal for erasures (covering areas) on your illustration board (not demonstrated).

Mixing white is also great for emphasizing highlights. Since the mixing white is not fully opaque, it lets the previous colour peek through but still gives the highlights the necessary intensity.
