The goofiness is absolutely what makes you’re channel unique and I love it. As a photographer who went from Nikon to Fuji and soon Canon, I appreciate EVERY bit of content you put out there. I also appreciate that you don’t force anything. I would rather see a video once a month with you putting your personality into it than 1 or 2 every week with no Omar soul. Thank you very much for that.

I have been watching you for years and not for any sort of gear advice. Just enjoy your personality. Plus I am a New Yorker by birth and love your photo walks around town. Living in Tulsa now, I don't get much of that first hand.
There's an openness, a generosity and an honesty to you and your channel which makes me (and I suspect others) come back every time a new vid hits the air. Keep doing what you do, the way that you do it. Frequency doesn't matter, quality counts.

Omar, you are far and away my favorite channel photography channel on YT. I’ve been here since 2019 when I bought an X-T3 and I’m not going anywhere. It sounds a bit cheesy to say, but you’re a kindred spirit and I feel like if we knew each other IRL we’d be good friends. Thank you for all your share with this community, especially the goofiness. The day your released your Insta360 video, I was having a really hard time with work, and the belly laugh I got helped me finish the day. What you do is important to many of us out here and we appreciate you. As I commented to Jamie Windsor when he had some personal struggles and had to make less videos, I’d show up here if you were only making 3 videos a year and cheer you on. 👏

I think one of the great things about your videos is the off the cuff, chatting to us style of your videos. Seeing your goofy personality makes a nice change from the staid and routine videos that lots of others put out. Keep up the great work.
One of the main reasons i have been watching your vids for 3 yrs now is that your wicked sense of humor in combination with your realistic approach to cameras and lenses. I agree with the false positivity. I normally provide user experience based reviews and i am critical in general. That is why I have a 90% like vs. dislike channel average.

I've watched this twice now. Been a subscriber since it was 50k-ish... some channels tend to get boring from time to time, but yours Omar, never, always entertaining, always something I can learn and try for myself.
I'm new to your channel. I love seeing your photographic style and feeling like I'm listening to a friend gabbing about a shared interest. I also like hearing your perspective and experiences with a camera. That's really so much more helpful for me than listening to people list specs over and over. okay, I just saw this now. I started my channel a few years ago and was never really serious about it until January the beginning of this year and I was soooo amped up and focused on growing it, but watching this makes me realize that I need to chill and just truly enjoy myself and enjoy creating and just sharing with whomever may be interested. I want you to know how valuable you are to me in my journey as someone brand new to photography. I found you about 6 months ago and once I realized how much I enjoy your personality and knowledge, I looked to see if you had a membership I could subscribe to for several reasons, but mainly because I wanted "more of Omar", and it took all of 2 seconds to see how much time and work you spend on creating and editing your videos, and i want to support you. You continue to give me so much knowledge and provide a great deal of joy in my learning journey that I 1000% would become a paid subscriber in a split second. I have enjoyed so many aspects of what you share and i highly value even the smallest tidbits of information, as well as allowing me to go along with you on your outings. I start following you in the summer of 2019 when I bought my XT2, it’s been a while. I stayed not only for the gear reviews, but for your nice energy, and how fun your videos are.
As a CZcamsr myself, it was nice to know that you also have things planned or that you made, and that never saw the world, I have also a few things stuffed “in a drawer”, and I guess is something that most people do, and that’s ok.

I love to hear when people take care of themselves out loud (e.g., “I only record when I feel like it”, “I just want to be happy”, “I want to try [a new thing] so maybe I’ll reach out and ask Chris how he does it” ) because believe it or not, it gives people a kind of subliminal permission to do the same.
The more examples we have of people taking care of themselves and finding joy in their work and lives, the easier it is for people to realize it’s possible to do things differently and be happy with themselves.
That may be the most important message you’re delivering with your channel. The camera stuff is great, too.
The reason why i still use Fujifilm is of your video’s. You learned me in a simple and inspiring way. The most thing i like about your channel is the real you sharing your experience with the cameras.

I think I never commented how much I enjoy watching your video, because English is not my first language, but I get all the humor you put in all the videos, although I would watch other photographers' video, I do feel like your videos are the most fun to watch while learning new stuff!!! you honestly deserve 1M subs, but I guess photography is still a niche hobby and the content is not for the majority, for people like me who's really into it, it always makes my day seeing your new video, there's really nothing out there can compete, appreciate all the work you have done! Omar, thank you for all of your quality content over the past six years! I made the switch from Canon DSLRs to the Fujifilm mirrorless system in 2017; specifically, the X-T20 when it first came out. I loved the semi-pro XXD line and Canon L glass but re-evaluated my photographic intentions and decided that I wanted to slim down my equipment. With small children, I didn’t want my camera size to preclude its frequent use in capturing childhood events.
Your channel was probably the first one specifically dedicated to the X-T20 at the time and I was completely hooked and subscribed pretty much instantly. I’ve drifted from photography in recent years but still watch your videos in bursts. I’m super thankful for your humility and for bringing fun and humor to this hobby and profession.
You have fostered a community of people who appreciate you for all that you’ve done and for the personal touches and humanity you capture in every video. I wish you many more years of continued personal and professional success!

Omar! Your authenticity is magnetic and your "fails" are not "fails"! Lets call them creative explorations that may or may not come to fruition. I mean, we only have so much energy and other things in life need our attention, right? Who accomplishes everything they want to try? The fact that you share those "potential successes" speaks to your humble tansparency with us, your goofy community! The serious personalities can seek content elsewhere 🤪. Omar, I LOVE your goofy self and your takes and advice have been invaluable over the last 5 years or so! You somehow always hit on exactly what is important to me as a photographer and it's been wonderful seeing your channel grow. The recent graphite X-T2 vid was a recent highlight, haha.
Also, I too have now come to the conclusion that the camera doesn't matter! I actually just picked up a used X-E3 with the 27mm and am loving the light weight and the incredible images that that era's sensor still provides.

I'm one of those that found you when I first got started with a "real" camera. You convinced me that the X-T20 was the way to go and it's brought me on a wonderful photography journey and have even started a little side business out of it. Even though I switched away from Fuji for Sony for professional work, I recently picked up a Fuji for the fun times. Thanks for all you do, I love your channel and your personality. Omar, you are one of the few photography channels I still watch (as you said, many are boring and seem to be homogenous). I discovered you early on when I purchased an XT-2 (still have it) and I have learned so much from you while having fun! The best educators make learning fun....I work in a children's science center and museum and so I know a little bit about that angle. It has been fun to watch your children grow up over the last few years. Your lovely wife is very generous to share the family with us from time to time. I discovered you early in 2020 when I re-took up photography (that's grammatically correct, honest!) bought a Fuji X-T1, and started searching for Fujifilm advice. Yours was pretty much the first channel I found that answered the question without being irritating, patronising or boring 😁 since then (during the lockdown) I watch your entire back catalogue and pretty much every video. I don't always watch the videos about non-fuji gear (because it's not always germane)... That said, I do watch a lot of them 🤔 Anyhow, thanks for what you do, and keep moving towards the things that interest and delight you - that's pretty much the secret to being engaging, I think 👍

You're one of the reasons why I jumped into street photography with my Fujifilm XS10 during the pandemic. Soon enough I realized it also became a way to give happiness to my friends and family through fun portraits and capturing moments for them - thank you for being you. I found you when I was looking to add a Fuji to my Nikon kit back before the pandemic. I ended up getting an XE3 and enjoying the experience of a different kind of shooting. Your jovial personality and conversational approach have kept me coming back.

I watch you all the time, but rarely comment. I have to write that I actually love your sense of humor. I don’t find it goofy at all. Your humor isn’t like another CZcamsr (who will remain nameless) who’s humor is at the third grade level. Anyway, you are one of my favorites.

I think what makes your channel super different is because it’s more like a sitcom thats about “adventures with Omar who takes pics and plays with camera gear”. The other camera channels are extremely formulaic and very professionalized. You literally can not guess what your next video is gonna be about. It reminds me of camera conspiracies channel, the channel that is, yes about camera, but equally about the character/host and comedy 😊😊 I can tell your channel is great because I rewatch old vids and they are still entertaining even tho I know what is gonna happen😊

Congratulations Omar. I discovered you years ago when I bought my first Fuji (xt-2). I couldn't believe my luck in finding you and all the incredible information you shared. And in such a charmingly goofy manner. (Thank you for keeping it fun.) I recently switched to the xs-10 and went back to your earlier videos to remind myself of the camera set up. I'm a tad dyslexic, and certain things are hard to remember - so thank goodness of all your videos!! I often wish I could re-like them multiple times. So, moving forward... Your channel is like the best parts of the old DigitalRev TV and the original Top Gear: the products are a more pretense for the value, which is the entertainment. I put most camera channels on my “do not show me this channel” list long ago because they just fueled camera purchases. This is one of the few that I still even see, because it is awesome.

I found your channel back when I was shopping for a camera and after seeing all of the other videos on the specs and such about the Fujifilm camera I was considering, your videos about the X-E3 were what convinced me to buy. You were spot on when you said you wanted to show how it felt and how it was to use and that was exactly what I was looking for. @@douglaspcollins4987 I do still have and use my X-E3 pretty often, paired mostly with the pancake lens to keep it small and handy. I really love the camera overall. The only thing I wish it had was a flip screen but for how I take photos most of the time, this hasn't been a dealbreaker.
I've been watching since I think 2019 when I was moving from Nikon and looking for opinions on other brands. Ended up going Fuji and watched a ton of your videos in the process. I'm not a pro photographer, purely hobby, so my watching of photo youtube goes in waves. You're one of the only photography channels I watch semi-consistently and it's because of your goofiness and how your videos straddle the line between being high quality with a lot of effort put in but without falling onto the side of being super-scripted mini-movies. I appreciate other content creators but the "high production value" comes across (to me at least) as being fake or disconnected from reality and I don't trust the content beyond being entertained by it. If I'm just looking for entertainment on youtube I can't imagine why I'd be watching photography channels if that makes sense. A little entertainment goes a long way in photography/camera youtube and I think you consistently get it right and come across as authentic in the process. Congrats on 500, I hope you continue to enjoy making these things for us to enjoy watching for a long time to come.

I've come to a realization that the youtbers I thoroughly enjoy and follow are the ones where youtube isn't their primary source of income. It allows for genuine authenticity .
My wife and I were in NY/NJ last september and visited hoboken based on your description of it would have loved to do a photowalk!

You bring a lot to the table in many different ways. One of my favorite video was one you did during the pandemic where you talked about music and the listening experience. You mentioned DAC’s, and you brought that to light, before that I knew nothing about them. I wound you buying one of the ones you had, the EarStudio ES100 MK2, and I loved it. I bought my first Fuji in 2020, an XE3 and love that as well. Prior to that I had two Nikons. Thanks again brother for your awesome channel made great by your humble passion and love of your craft. Omar - thanks for your channel. Personally I think live chats, technique videos and some of your other ideas would be great. Camera reviews are what everyone does. I know these are the kind of videos that put meat on the table in terms of views, but I am settled on the camera gear I have. My gear has been selected for use and purpose (with the occasional splurge when cash allows). Teaching subscribers how to build and improve on a portfolio, printing images (lost art), book and zine planning and production. I look forward to episode 501 “The Next Odyssey “.

As a family photographer who uses a Nikon Z50 because it is simple, I would like to see more commentary on how you see a composition, on the criteria you used to include this in your composition and not that. Omar, Happy 500th video! I love your Fuji content in particular. I shoot with an X-H1 and a few X-mount lenses that you were a big part of helping me choose. THose lenses include the Rokinon 12mm f/2, Viltrox 23mm f/1.4, and Fuji XC 35mm f/2. I also shoot with a ton of adapted vintage glass. Love your stuff.

I noticed that i haven't saved any of your videos on a specific playlist like 'photography' for example and the reason i realised was that, your channel, every time you released a video, was more of a catch-up with a friend' kindof video.

Out of the gazillion of CZcams photography channels, I am subscribed to exactly 2. You're one of them (Pal2Tech being the other 😊)! I learned a lot about photography … after about 30 years in this marvellous hobby! I learned new tricks, I tried out new approaches. You also helped me a lot in my decision, which camera system to try out after I came to the conclusion, that Canon is not the right path for me any more after having used 8 different Canon EOS cameras. So, thanks a lot for all that effort you put into this channel! 🙏

I came for the Fuji camera videos back in the day, but stayed for your personality and style. The eye surgery video was really interesting as another photographer who wears glasses. Much like others, I appreciate the goofiness.

I've been here only a few months, and you clearly come across as real and honest with interesting and relevant content as you said. I also blamed the "bald funny fujifilm guy" (you) when telling my wife why I got the X-Pro3 ( only a month after the 50s II). What is also great is this is the best channel to watch getting my daughter into photography. Keep up the good work, but only when you feel like it! I just found out I've got nearly 500 other vids to check out?!?
