AK is my favorite resort, I usually rent points from my DVC friend when we stay. I have stayed at Kidani once, but prefer Jambo. Just love all the food options , pool and over all vibe so much! The water view pool view rooms at Jambo are just so beautiful compared to Kidani. Mara has such a great selection for dining. Love this!!🐯🦁🦓🦒🐘

Hi Deni and Brian!! Hubby and I have stayed at AKL 4 times and have 2 more staycations booked for later this year!! Knowing we will probably never visit Africa, AKL, for us, is the next best thing!! What a thrill to open our curtains in the morning to be greeted by Giraffes and Zebras!! This resort is beautiful and transportive with amazing food, cultural representatives and animal experts!! Thanks for invoking wonderful memories!!

It’s just such a special place! I have been to Sanaa, but it’s been a few years. Both Brian and I loved it went well tried it!💚
We’ve been a few times, we are DVC, I love the Savana view with my morning cup of tea. We will be there this coming Saturday May 25,2024 for 5 days. Love love Boma. it’s a beautiful resort.

We stayed there for our daughter’s first birthday in 2010 on a big family trip and now, this August we are returning for her 15th birthday- just her- (and mom and dad)! Looking so forward to surprising her with this! Thanks for this look around!

My DVC home resort! It is always so nice for a visit even if I don't do any parks, but just eat there and enjoy the pool and the animals there. A super unique vacation!

I just got back after a week, on February 24th, the weather was a little rainy for the first two days but a good resort to stay at even if it rains. The rooms are nice, well appointed, nice lobby at Jambo House, Kidani has smaller lobby for the DVC side of things and not as many dining options! The only thing that could be an issue is other than Animal Kingdom park, you are far away from the other parks and Disney Springs, so plan on longer bus rides or if you have your own car, just have that as part of your plan.

This is the most amazing resort review I’ve ever seen! I’m doing a 3 hotel split stay this summer so I’ve been looking at a good handful of them and this is by far my favorite! A room and resort tour in one and so much detail and additional information added rather that just a quick video of the area. I CANNOT wait to stay there. Now I’m wishing I had a resort day while at AKL!

I have been hoping that there would be a video for Animal Kingdom Lodge. I want so badly to stay there, someday. For our late honeymoon visit (her first time at Disney; my first time lodging on property, though I had seen the parks before), we considered this one but decided against it because: #1 We needed something a tad more affordable; #2 We decided that we wanted something a touch more centrally located, since we were taking the buses everywhere; and #3 I know my wife well enough to know that if we woke up in the morning and there was a giraffe feeding outside our window, there was no way I was going to be able to get her to a park, any park, in time for rope drop.
So I can't wait to watch this.
ADDENDUM: OMG, I am only twelve minutes into this and I SO WANNA STAY HERE!!!! (And I want to trade in our regular Echo Dot for this Disney one.) I will be interested to see your Jiko review. We ate there and loved it, and I can only hope that your experience was a positive one.
It was such an incredible resort to stay in! I have visited in the past and just to walk around and explore for the afternoon, but when you stay there, it’s next level. You really feel a part of the place.💚
We are staying at AK in January. Not sure we will do much in the parks.

I did some resort hopping when I was there in 2022. My favorites were Pop Century and Animal Kingdom Lodge. Of course when I was at AKL I had to try the zebra domes. The pool looked really fun. I so wanted to go down the slide. The bus ride to the resort from Animal Kingdom was really short. It’s also not that bad to get to Hollywood Studios (where I transferred to get back to Old Key West). I don’t think that bus ride was much longer.

Great overview of the resort - I may have missed you mentioning it but there are also DVC villas on the Jambo side - we are DVC and prefer the bustle of Jambo but Kidani is beautiful and there's a wonderful pool there as well. It's a very long walk to some of the rooms at Kidani but if you have a vehicle you can park underneath the building hopefully closer to your room/elevator area. This resort is our pick for a non-park or less park heavy trip. So much to do around the resort day and night. Thanks for this review!

Great review. We stayed there on the top floor with a savanna view. This was the worst. Being on the top floor allowed us to basically only see the top of the trees. 😑. That and the extremely long walk to the rooms left us disappointed. We left after 2 days and went to Wilderness Lodge.
It is best when staying on the 2nd and 3rd floors to view the animals. but it is great to stay there and enjoy the pool too
I stayed in a one bedroom there years ago with my son and his wife. We were actually booked into a studio room and got upgraded. It wasn't technically a Savannah view, it was a view of the people pens (where you get evacuated to if you are that side) but really a Savannah view without paying for it. We were only there for a couple of nights during a split stay with BW but enjoyed it. Not sure I'd pay to stay there unless I got a Savannah view though but that's just me.

AKL is our favorite resort for a staycation. There’s so much to see , especially the animals. We love chatting with the international cast members and have learned so much. Boma has so many incredible flavors as well.

when looking at the activities, do they have the drumming activity with the kids and ambassadors in the afternoons like they did before 2020?

YOu don't need more closet space, you just wear your indigenous one dress you have for the next 5 years. You want it to be authentic right ?
