I believe the lens Mr. Karbe has in his hands is a third generation Summarit 35 or 50. The summarits are some of the most underappreciated line of lenses and so I was wondering why they chose these lenses to play with. Maybe it was because they look stunning with their complementary lens hoods. . .
so if minimizing the number of elements is bad, does this mean putting a UV Filter onto a Noctilux .95 50 mm is like applying lipstick on the Mona Lisa?

More or less...yes!
Usually not because those are simplistic glass elements designed to not be reflective.
Aberrations is the enemy!!!
Good series but left a empty space . You never even talked about the Q one the most innovative cameras from Leica???
