    Maroon 5 is an American pop rock band from Los Angeles, California. Adam Levine, keyboardist and rhythm guitarist Jesse Carmichael, bassist Mickey Madden, lead guitarist James Valentine, drummer Matt Flynn, keyboardist PJ Morton and multi-instrumentalist Sam Farrar. Original members Levine, Carmichael, Madden and drummer Ryan Dusick first came together as Kara's Flowers in 1994, while they were still in high school.
    Overexposed is the fourth studio album by the American band Maroon 5, released on June 20, 2012, by A&M Octone Records. The album was recorded between 2011 and 2012 and was driven after the moderate success of their third album, Hands All Over (2010), and later by the enormous success of the re-released edition, which was promoted by the single "Moves Like Jagger", recorded as a collaboration with Christina Aguilera. It is the band's only album not to feature keyboardist, rhythm guitarist and background vocalist, Jesse Carmichael, who took a temporary break from performing with the group to focus on his studies back then, replaced by musician PJ Morton. The band worked with different producers, such as Max Martin, who serves as the album's executive producer, Ryan Tedder, Shellback and Benny Blanco. The band's guitarist and Levine's usual co-writer James Valentine only has four credits on the album.

And by "Living", I mean a man who's still performing with his band, which is one of the quintessential Rock and Roll bands to ever be created, and is actually prepping for a new tour THIS YEAR? But still, he doesn't know where Rock is. Okay then.

      Jake Graham plus, it’s complete nonsense if that’s what Adam’s talking about. There are still tons of great classic rock acts out there, including Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Judas Priest, Alice In Chains, Nine Inch Nails and others, who have recently released albums that did pretty well and have launched pretty successful tours for those albums. Same goes for more recent big name rock acts like GHOST (the modern day Black Sabbath) and A Perfect Circle, both of whom released great albums last year and are selling many tickets for their awesome live shows. Even lesser-known rock acts like Royal Blood, Nothing But Thieves, Highly Suspect, and Wolf Alice show that good rock is still out there, you just need to keep your eye out for there. Not all “rock” acts are bands like Imagine Dragons and Fall Out Boy, who are the bro-country equivalent of rock.

    • @heymistercarter.
      @heymistercarter. Před 5 lety +8

      @@jakegraham3758 Exactly! And it's not just in terms of making classic albums, it's also in terms of tickets to their live shows. In fact, I have a few examples for Adam "I don't know where the rock is" Levine. I live outside of New Orleans. There's a new music venue about to open in mid-February called the Fillmore. The first act to play there is a little band called the Foo Fighters. Not sure of old Adam-boy has heard of them, but they've sold quite a number of hit records, released tons of classic songs, and so on. Anyway, they're playing two shows there for this grand opening, and the cheapest tickets were like $250 or so. Both nights sold out within minutes. Another example: Nine Inch Nails went on tour this last year in support of their new music, and they did an at-the-venue presale for tickets for their shows, including the two nights they were playing in New Orleans. They had people who camped out there since late the night before to get good seats, some for both nights. In fact, when I arrived there at like 3-something in the morning, I ended up being a few feet past the corner of the venue. And when the doors opened at 10 in the morning, the line I'm pretty sure stretched WAY past the block and several streets over. In fact, the demand was so high for tickets in NOLA, they even added a third date at the same venue. These are classic ROCK acts that Adam I'm guessing doesn't know about. And he claims he doesn't know where Rock is.

      Haruka Amami I agree. At least with those, you can have fun listening to those, whether it’s the instrumentation or lyrics. This? It’s just bland cookie-cutter pop that I’ve heard way too much of on the radio and in commercials. It's funny that this album was released in 2012. That same year, Adam Levine appeared as an actor in the second season of American Horror Story, Asylum, deemed to be the best season of that show. He was shockingly OK in that show, though. Probably all his effort went to that instead of music.

    Just when I thought I couldn't come across anything worse than Scars and Souvenirs...
    Well, I just ate my words. Here are my thoughts on this album;
    1) I was just bored by this song. It's about as artistic as Van Gogh slicing off his ear. Also, hearing that the beat ripped off DuckTales really rubs me the wrong way.
    2) Apart from the out-of-place music video which is too far good for the song itself, the actual song itself is another crappy breakup song.
    3) I fell asleep when I first heard this. Seriously, this was just boring.
    4) This is the best track on is album, it's not great but at least there's some energy to it.
    5) And now I fell asleep again. It's disjointed and offers nothing of interest.
    6) It had potential to be a great song, but it falls into the same trappings as the other tracks.
    7) Completely forgettable.
    8) I don't know what to say about this. This is the most boring song I've ever heard. I don't know why this was even made.
    9) Like with "Love Somebody" this had the potential to be a decent song, but it falls flat.
    10) This is the same pop-techno junk. Also, Strong Bad would like a word with you, Mr. Levine.
    11) I really don't see the appeal for this song, especially when there are much better electro-pop out there.
    12) There's some actual instrumentals, refreshingly enough. A nice change of pace from everything else from the album. Shame it wasn't enough to save the album.
    Overexposed is the most boring album I've ever heard in my life. I know, I've been spiteful towards Scars and Souvenirs a few weeks back but at least it didn't bore me as much. Just when I think of something as the worst, something even worse comes across my mind.

At The Disco & Queens Of The Stone Age have pulled off a Pop sound better than anything Adam Levine has done. But naw, I'm know someone else who can do it MILES better all by himself.
      Tilian Pearson. When taken out of Dance Gavin Dance, he can really utilize the Pop aesthetic w/ amazing results, seriously all of the albums in his solo catalog (especially The Skeptic BTW!!!) wipe the floor w/ how infectious the melodies are, how colorful & intricate the production/sound flows & how fun/honest Tilian's lyrics can be.
      Maybe I'm just speaking for myself, given my bias, but dude I hear all these shallow+soulless pop artists & I immediately think of many people who can do it better. & Given all the horrible Pop trends that keep coming up in recent years, Tilian is someone who not only understands it but enjoys it. Again The Skeptic is just an absolute pleasure! (It's for sure a better 1975 album than what we actually got from The 1975!)

    The minute I heard Payphone in the review I thought “oh my god noooooo!!” It brought back a flood of memories from when that song was overplayed to death...god did I get sick of that song, I’d be happy never hearing it again for the rest of my days...
    ...Yeeeaah, I really don’t care for this band. Though I do like Harder to Breathe (it’s probably the only song of theirs that I enjoy and will go out of my way to listen to), and they do have maybe a handful of other songs that I can tolerate, I think they’re incredibly overplayed and dull. On top of that, something about Adam Levine kinda rubs me the wrong way - he comes of as a bit of a “player” to me.
