In the UK, there's so many apps like this. Meanwhile, in the US, people are getting arrested for dumpster diving, begging, etc for food....and the giant grocery shops would rather destroy food rather than give it to anyone for free....

My husband used to work for Topps Market and the amt of food that would be thrown on daily was unreal! Although being on a tight budget, a few of the employees worked it out with him at a specific time to meet them at the back door and they would help him get foods for us that were going to the dumpster!!! My husband worked there til he was 71 yrs old as the $ was tight at the time!

I live in central London and had this app for months too scared to try it, now I use this app at least 3 times a week - it’s amazing value! I either grab it on my way home from work, or sometimes on the way in. Some mystery bags have been enough food for the whole day, all for around £2.50 and fantastic quality if you choose the right places. Highly recommended, unless you’re a fussy eater, as you get really random stuff but I love that it’s a surprise.

I used to work at Starbucks here in America and at the end of the night we could throw out upwards of 100 breakfast sandwhiches at a time (not EVERY night, but still). The fresh boxes could be anywhere from 5-10 since they go bad faster, but that was almost every night. Occasionally me and my coworkers would take stuff to a homeless shelter, and take food for ourselves. It was such a waste.

Its basically you trying out an activity that's far out of your comfort zone every other week or so. This is such a fun video to watch! I am in the same situation as you; I live just outside a major city that has restaurants that participate in this app, (San Francisco), but my local restaurants don't. (Except for Peet's Coffee, good for them!) I do, however, work in the City, so I'm going to check out the app tomorrow while I'm at work and see if I can bring home food for dinner or the next morning for breakfast. It appears you were able to actually get some breakfast meals when the restaurants opened. I thought this was for leftover food at the end of the day, but I guess some just throw together a surprise bag and see if people will buy them early in the day? Anyway, thanks for the fun review. I watched The Drunk Bridesmaid's video about Too Good To Go in NYC. Then yours in London. Maybe I'll do one for San Francisco!

I use tgtg cause I live in paris and there’s loads of supermarket ones here, I like them cause they usually give you random veg/ ingredients and make you think of different things to cook. But the last one I got was a giant bag of pain au chocolates, 2 loaves of white bread, two salami sandwiches, a pack of mash and a chicken and cheese salad. It was rather carb heavy! But you win some and you loose some with the mystery bags!!

video idea: try baking macarons (and then let your fam compare with bought ones and make them guess which ones are yours) or something like that (would LOVE to watch that) x loved this video by the way, I am too obsessed with too good to go but there aren't many participating restaurants in my area either :(

I think I must eat quite a bit later than you Grace because the times normally suit me quite well.
Normally eat breakfast about 10.30-11, lunch about 3.30-4 and dinner approx 9pm.

So strange, we have it as a website in Australia so I got excited. But there's no way to use it and it mentions the countries it works in, Britain, Europe and USA, but I cant seem to do anything here where I am, and I can't even find an app here in the iTunes Store for it or anything similar.
Such a shame. It sounds soooo good

Video idea: order the "trick" items from eBay. If you've ever shopped for clothes on Ebay you might have seen that an item will show as £2 for example, but when you choose a size the price goes up. Theres usually one item in the colour/size option that is actually the "trick" price. Sometimes itll say size xxxxxxxs, so you should buy those sizes and see what you recieve! Ive always been really interested
