Outdoor off camera flash (OCF) photography with Koyfman Photo and Video in League City, TX.

If you’re going to use off-camera (OCF) flash for outdoor photography, here’s what you’ll need:
1. Speedlights
At Koyfman Photo and Video Production we use Godox AD200pro speedlights. AD200pro speedlights are excellent portable flashes. As you can see in the video, my assistant has no problem lifting and moving around with that speedlight. Heavier speedlights would require a more durable stand and would be harder to move. You can also use high speed sync with AD200pro speedlights.
2. Shoot through umbrella.
As you can see in the video, I have my assistant hold a shoot through umbrella. It is important to properly position the umbrella so that a person you are photographing is properly lit.
3. Remote triggers
Remote triggers allow you to fire speedlights when they’re not mounted to your camera. As you can imagine, this is essential when using off-camera flash. At Koyfman Photo and Video Production we use Godox Xpro TTL Wireless Flash Trigger. Various camera brands will have a trigger dedicated to that brand. For example Sony Remote trigger is called Godox Xpro-S. Wireless Flash Trigger for Canon is called Godox Xpro-C. Wireless Flash Trigger for Nikon is called Godox Xpro-N. Godox Xpro TTL Wireless Flash Trigger works well with AD200pro speedlights for high speed sync when you want to take photos that are faster than 1/250 of a second.
4. Camera with a hot shoe
Finally, you will need a camera that works in Manual mode. It must also have a hot shoe. Note that the “hot shoe” is a square bit of metal on top of the camera that an external flash or wireless trigger slides into. At Koyfman Photo and Video Production we use Sony mirrorless cameras most of the time.
One of League City’s crowning jewels, League Park is located at 512 2nd Street. League Park was donated by J.C. League-the city's namesake-more than 100 years ago, and continues to be a gathering place for events throughout the year. League Park can be reserved for birthday parties, weddings, and other events.
With a turn-of-the-century theme, League Park features a stunning gazebo that is a local landmark. Divided by a central plaza, the north side of the park contains more active recreation elements like basketball courts and a large play structure. The south side is more passive with large historic Butler Oak Trees, a gazebo and several seating areas. The park also includes a large open grass area for outdoor concerts and movies, a large brick paved plaza compete with catenary lights for evening events and market days. League Park also has a caboose, clock tower, restrooms and a coffee shop.
