Big fan of basic lands. I bought a lot of old framed basics over the pandemi. Really love the mirage and portal lands. Tempest and ice age have a special place in my heart too. Also, I very recently started to construct some premodern decks, so I get to play with the beautiful lands too.
That's the plan! im just not sure whether I should do them all now in a row or wait for weeks when im busy as these are easier to make. Im thinking I will do them all asap though as there are surprisingly few videos about this topic.
Yeah I think everyone has that nostalgia factor of enjoying the first lands they played with. For me it was Urzas and masques. Lorwyn has incredible basic lands though, I think if they had old frames they would be up their with the best.
As someone who runs a ton of UB, UW, and UWB control decks, it's always kinda irked me that, while I may have clear-cut favorites when it comes to Swamps and Plains (both are from Shards of Alara too, oddly enough), I never have been able to windle it down to one, definitive Island that sits as my all-time fave. The Alara Islands are great too, don't get me wrong, but I can't even decide which is my favorite out of JUST THOSE, let alone every Island ever made lol. I just wish they made old-frame versions of the Alara lands, too. When playing Premodern, I usually wind up running the Ice Age Snow Island honestly. I've always really loved the little, "Easter Island-esque" head statues featured on em'. The statues also make me think of Steal Artifact and Copy Artifact too, which is a plus haha.
All good picks. I know the unlands are a crowd favorite but the frame treatment draws too much attention for my taste. I like my basics to match frame and style or whatever format I'm playing. Even in my un-cube I use the modern frame two-headed Squirrel islands from Unsanctioned.
Yeah I think the unhinged ones look just like regular lands at this point not they have printed so many variations of full arts but unglued still look pretty distinct. I don't play with them but I like them as a wild card choice over some of the crazy stuff theyre making these days.
Yeah some of the Bob Ross lands are really nice. I love mirage lands and think the island is good too but it feels a bit less special to me that some of the others. I also never really liked onslaught lands apart from the lighthouse looking one

Yeah they are still reasonably cheap for how cool they are. You can't really go wrong with nice lands

Mirage block has always been my favorite for basic lands.

For me too. Mirage has the best art and not only for islands but in general.

I use the left one from Urza's Saga in all my decks.
That one is a huge fan favourite, it's also my favourite when you consider the prices of the cards

Man if Bob Ross Island 102 were in the old border that'd be in my top ten. But it's really hard to beat onslaught #335 or mirage #338
