In this episode I'm on a short weekend trip to Maryland! My first stop was Captain Benders Tavern in Sharpsburg, Maryland. I am here to take on their Monument Challenge! It's called The TOWER OF DEATH! Why? Because it is a SPICY Challenge! Let's see how hot this thing is!!!

This was SERIOUSLY impressive! You absolutely smashed it, that looked so so hot! Great tactics eating the fries first but saving the sour cream. Amazing time too! Oh and I do love onions too! 😋

Tower of Death? Good thing it didn’t live up to its name, because “let’s start with the fries” would be terrible last words! Great strategy though, as was saving the sour cream to use with the burger later.
Well, I know you have to eat sweet challenges fast to outrun the Sugar Wall, but I had no idea you had to outrun spice too. You did a great job getting it down before the heat got to you though. Good thing your capacity was high enough to let you take on a lot of water.
Between this and those spicy noodles, you have an impressive spice tolerance! Great job and congratulations on the win!! 😁🎉
Yes Sam! The Tower of Death ☠ Starting with the fries was a great idea for this one! Glad you think my strategies were good! 👌 Yes, outrunning spice is even more important! Usually it you keep eating things aren't too bad, when you stop it slow down is when it starts to hurt! 😖 Yes, having room for water is always super important! I have a pretty good spice tolerance, the main issue is if you don't keep you can lose some of your tolerance!

Great challenge and good idea to save the sour cream for the last bits. As soon as I saw what the food looked like, I knew you had it, spicy or not. Those burgers looked delicious.
Thank you Jeff! It was a good challenge, it's nice doing a different kind of challenge every once in a while! Sour Cream was indeed an excellent idea! 👌 The burgers were pretty darn good! Of course not being as spicy would have made them more enjoyable! 😉

Raw means uncooked. This is definitely cooked meat! Definitely hit at least 160° Fahrenheit! 👌 But yes if it's overcooked I don't really enjoy it!
