      @@KevinRossRN Hi I am using dynamic mics too but I am still behind on how you process your voice to achieve the voice I am hearing now. The majority of videos I have watched on this are fuzzy on this section. If you can even manage to send me in a certain direction I will be thankful. I have tons of plugins. Waves Plugins almost all of them. Izotope Plugins. Like RX, Neutron, Izotope 9. But still, I fail to arrive at your vocal levels and quality. Help.

    • @JoelMwakasege
      @JoelMwakasege Před 3 lety

      Additional detail on this is I do have an audio interface - what's missing is the flow of editing - and if you do create a video on audio editing - share the sound as it sounds without the edits - I love to hear the signal to noise ratio and then the processing.

    • @KevinRossRN
      @KevinRossRN  Před 3 lety

      So in this video: czcams.com/video/YXWdOXdkMLI/video.html
      I do share a little about my FCPX audio workflow as far as just showing you what the values are and much of it is tuning to the room because I'd certainly tweak it in another environment, but as I said in the video it's also very much about the room and my voice, which I've been working on, my whole life 😄
      I am reviewing a brand new broadcast mic and I will share with the community the edited version vs. the EQ'd version. The mic is actually in my latest video as well as a video on a "secret" channel I've started: czcams.com/video/GGj7K2WBPbM/video.html
      I'm still figuring out the mic, but so far I"m digging it.
      The only plugin I ever used when I was podcasting was Auphonic Leveler, which helped bring the audio to -16LUFS, but that's about it.

      @@KevinRossRN I am working with a Zoom PodTrak P4. The issue I am having is that even when I set the Input Chanel Source the recording is being saved under both the inputs. Another thing I was trying to figure out is why only two inputs are coming up on the Ipad when the P4 has 4 inputs. Do you have any advice as to what I may be doing wrong? Maybe the Ipad only handles two inputs at a time? Thanks in advance for the help!

    • @KevinRossRN
      @KevinRossRN  Před 2 lety +1

      So I have tested this with the Zoom H6 and I can get it to recognize all those tracks separately.
      So do you have a computer you can connect it to so that you can test that the interface is acting like an actual interface?
      I don’t have the P4, but it’s a great piece of hardware. Wish they had it when I was first starting out.
      So when you choose multitrack in GB, you get two tracks, correct? But then each track is being duplicated (same recording) in those tracks?

    • @aprulez1
      @aprulez1 Před 2 lety

      @@KevinRossRN I have not yet tried to hook up to the PC I guess that would be a good place to start.
      As far as the multi track recording, the audio is indeed picked up by all 4 mics but then is also duplicated in all 4 tracks, GB is not recognizing the mics as separate. The user guide that comes included with the Zoom isn’t very detailed when it comes to pairing with a tablet.

    • @KevinRossRN
      @KevinRossRN  Před 2 lety

      Yeah the Zoom likely wouldn’t mention a tablet. It would mostly be about how it acts as an interface vs being a handheld recorder. Also, there’s another free app, Ferrite, on the App Store.
      I’m curious to see if this may net you the same result. Just trying to figure out if it’s a “bug” with the P4 or the software.

      For a “budget” level mic setup, I think it’s great. And the 2i2 is also great. These two interfaces are both very good in my option. I only went the MOTU route because I wanted to go against the grain a bit and ended up finding it to be what was looking for.

      I have so much to learn hahaha. It's so difficult to make a decision to start off

    • @KevinRossRN
      @KevinRossRN  Před 2 lety

      Yes, and with the handheld you can record directly into that device, the tracks will be split into individual ones (if you had multiple hosts), and then it gets recorded onto a SD card that you can transfer those files to your computer to edit later.
      A handheld recorder can also act as an audio interface as well. You can connect it directly to a computer just like the audio interface in this video.
      Didn’t mean to confuse you. There are a lot of options. I will say though that a handheld recorder or audio interface will give you more options to grow. But certainly don’t blow out your budget.

      Thanks! As far as three, you may find yourself looking at a four channel input. They’re usually in pairs like this (typically that is).
      MOTU has some additional options and Scarlett also has the 18i8 that will have four XLR inputs.
      The handheld recorder that I also use is the Zoom H6. Should be linked below, but that can act as an audio interface or you can record directly into it.
      There’s also this device: amzn.to/3xZZvvf

    • @KevinRossRN
      @KevinRossRN  Před 3 lety +3

      Hey, happy to help. So as far as the space is concerned, you should be fine. .wav files for a 1 hour podcast with two tracks will usually range from as low as 1 and up to 6 GBs depending how much you’re adding as far as tracks or other audio. You can also compress that file down to less than 1GB, but that of course gets spun down to a much smaller .mp3 when you share it.

    Thanks for your help in helping me remember the 1990s switcher technology that I once used in the 1990s. But I am also curious about one particular American component used by hard drive cloners.
    In my country's government they do not want us civilians to use their scan-copy-transfer (SCT IC Chip) IC chip which can scan incoming computer input, make multiple copies of it, and transfer one of each of these multiple copies to 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 individual CPUs that will process the WHOLE information and then they use an another component that receives the processed information and compare all of the results and once all are cross-referenced and are the same they are then combined as one information output which is then displayed on one or more computer monitor display.
    Does your American hard drive cloners can do the same? And what is the key component in your hard drive cloners that can make multiple duplicate copies of the 1st primary hard drives and then transfers those multiple duplicate copies to several tens of dozens of hard drives? Can you and somebody or anybody help me please?
    Maybe, just maybe that key critical component of your American hard drive cloners can do the same function as my country's government's (SCT IC Chip) Scan - Copy - Transfer IC Chip.

    • @KevinRossRN
      @KevinRossRN  Před rokem

      The interface splits out the tracks. Plugging in multiple mics at one may or may not work. Just depends on the mic. The built in audio of the iPad may default to one or the other. But at the very least if both mics fire up, they’ll be on the same track.

    • @KevinRossRN
      @KevinRossRN  Před 2 měsíci

      I would recommend just recording separately with the camera. Then, you’d take the audio tracks from the iPad and the video from the camera and drop all of those into a video editor.
      You’d remove the audio from the camera because the built in mic isn’t going to sound good at all, but it’s great to use it as a reference for the better quality you’re getting from the interface and iPad.
      Hopefully that makes sense.
