To touch on something you said about Kelsier and not really hearing anything about him since Era 1... There are a couple traces elsewhere we've seen in the cosmere.
Just to clarify something Lore said, time isn't sped up or slowed down outside the time bubbles, it's constant, it is only altered within them and it's relative to people inside that it appears to change outside, but it hasn't. It may seem nitpicky but I think that is actually going to be quite an important distinction in the future of the cosmere.
Currently listening to era 2 to prepare for the next book. Wayne is one of Sanderson’s best characters. Loved Michael Kramer’s portrayal in the audiobooks. Makes me laugh every time.
OK I am finally about to read The Lost Metal, so I finally watched this video. Super helpful, as it's been 7 (!) years since I read Bands of Mourning. Thank you!
As someone who likes Era 2 more than Era 1, I thoroughly enjoyed this video! We so rarely get videos focusing just on this group of characters...some of which I'd forgotten about 😂Looks like I'm due for a re-read...
This was nice! I read these as they were coming out, so it's been quite awhile since I read the 1st two. I still think I will reread them before the Lost Metal is released, but thanks for doing this video. It was really good!
Life saver. Couldn't remember for the life of me what happened in the last 2 books, so thankful you put it all together so I didn't have to reread them in a mad rush for the new book
Thank you so much for this. I absolutely love Era 2... not as much as Era 1, obviously, but still a wonderful follow-up to a series that was almost perfect.
I just finished Bands of Mourning while biking today doing my first reread. This is great to soldify what happened and I will come back to this in november for sure when the new books comes out. Also Lore of the Worlds is an amazing channel! Love all his content!
This is exactly what I needed; I haven't read any of era two since the last book came out. I love the Cosmere but the only thing I can bring myself to reread with frequency is Stormlight.
I couldn't believe how much I'd forgotten lol. I ended up listening to them this time and it went pretty fast - compared to other sanderson these are short!
More series need these videos. I may actually start reading them before all are published ha. I don’t reread so I can’t have a super long gap or I’ll be lost.
I just finished a my reread of Shadows of Self last week. I'm excited to read Bands of Mourning again. I'm hoping we will one day get to see what Marsh has been up to all this time, Even during Era one, we only got glimpses into what he was up to after becoming an Inquisitor. Hopefully we can get some more Kelsier in The Lost Metal. Also, I'm guessing Wax is Harmony's Sword....I don't have any concrete reasoning, other than I want him to be and Wax did call himself Harmony's Sword in Shadows of Self, didn't he? Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but it does feel like Wax's journey is setting up to put him as Harmony's agent/Sword.
I would love some more Marsh content, he was one of my favorites from Era 1. I think most people think Wax will be Harmony's sword. I'm the loser holding out for something different LOL
tbh did this for myself even after rereading to try and make sense of it all. I just feel like The Lost Metal is going to be important in the Cosmere...we'll see...
@@Bookborn the dragonsteel team has strongly hinted at big cosmere stuff going down in the lost metal. Also Brandon will be setting your boy Kelsier up for Era 3 where he is supposed to have a major role. Really exciting!!
I think after some reveals in other Cosmere books we will see more of what Kelsier is up to on Scadrial this book. Probably not everything but I don't think Brandon would put that epilogue teasing Kelsier, then publish Secret History, and then do nothing with it. I think there will be some level of reveals in The Lost Metal. I was also surprised in just the description released for The Lost Metal how many Cosmere references there were in that talking about Cosmere groups reaching out etc. Should be fun!
@@Bookborn yeah at the very least the ghostbloods have to! Although this book might start to make it trickier for reading orders if you want to do each series in order lol.
Wax doesn’t accidentally shoot Lessie that’s misleading like he has bad accuracy. Bloody Tan yanked her head towards the bullet, being aware of Wax and Lessie’s plan for her to move while he shoots.
i realized bc of Daniel Greenes review that the lost metal was released and he mentioned the existence of cosmere connections. Since its been a while since reading cosmere stuff and especially Scadrial stuff, im very thankful for this video 😅 edit: if someone would be so kind to point me towards non-Mistborn cosmere recaps for this book, that would be appreciated
@@Bookborn thanks already. I mean considering cosmere tie-ins in the lost metal from other places like roshar for example. I don't know if knowing what I should keep in mind would spoil me already and if I would mind that😂
Awesome recap, now i want to relisten to the series! Also I've been wanting to know why Hoid gave him the coin? Will he have a more significant role in the next book?
There are quite a few theories about why he gave him the coin. Hoid’s motives on Scadrial right now in the timeline are unclear but we know from WoB that Hoid has access to unkeyed metal minds and that he will be a POV character in Era 4. I would think he’s unlikely to be very present in The Lost Metal.
I agree with what Kyle said! I think Hoid's influence in Era 2 will be similar to Era 1 or Warbreaker - a mention, a nudge in a direction, but that's it. I think it's unlikely he'll play a big role. That's saved for SA, I think.
Great recap! Mistborn era two was probably my least favorite Sanderson series, but I'm not sure if that's because it's the actual weakest series, or if it's because I find the western setting less appealing, or maybe it's because it's been so long since I read the last three books I've forgotten many key plot points. I'm reading Lost Metal over the holidays.
I actually feel the same lol. Western settings have never interested me, nor fantasy with guns. Rereading them did make me enjoy them more, but they’ll never be my favorite sanderson.
Ahh then you are missing a piece of the puzzle. This def spoiled that for you, sorry! Generally people read Mistborn: Secret History after era 1 or before/with bands of mourning.
This video was so good that it took my breath away
Which is honestly kind of annoying cause I was almost at the 5th heightening
I can always count on you to be a Cosmere Dad
Har har

This is correct, I was definitely oversimplifying what's going on for the sake of brevity. Thanks for the additional clarification!
The Chris Pratt bit about Wayne killed me 🤣
Lore is so funny 😂
My son(who's read all Mistborn!) and I were just listening to this together while driving and it was super helpful!! Thank you!
Thanks for watching Alicia :)

This is absolutely what I needed!! Thank you so much!
For a book called Bands of Mourning, I laughed a lot in that book
Not all heroes wear capes … thank you for this video!!!!!!
Thanks for watching 🙏
Ahh thank you I did not want to reread these before The Lost Metal 😂 This was perfect!
Thank you!
Big thanks for the recap! Now I am ready to start The Lost Metal 🎉
I hope you enjoy it! I did!

I think it's worth doing a reread! I enjoyed my time with them; and unlike most sanderson's, they are relatively short lol
Oh love this! Thanks so much! I think I may just listen to this later in the year instead of doing a full reread.

His stuff is so impressive!
Awesome update, thank you! Book 2 was the one I really loved. When I finished that one, I knew I was in for the long haul.
It took until Bands for me, but now I'm really excited for Metal. Sanderson usually nails his endings.
Oh my god I have been looking for something like this! Thank you soo much!
Happy reading!
Thanks for the recap. I totally forgot how mistborn era 2 went. Finally getting around to lost metal
Nice, just what I wanted before starting The Lost Metal. Would definitely like more recaps of books before new releases.
Thanks for this. About to start the book literally right now. ❤️👍
I hope you like it!

Hi thank you for the review video!! Happy reading to you!! 😊🦋
Much needed refresher. I think I might need to reread Era 2 because I can't remember much.
I couldn't believe how much I'd forgotten lol. I ended up listening to them this time and it went pretty fast - compared to other sanderson these are short!
Thank you!
Very nice! It looks like it took a ton of work to put this together. Great job :)

Thank youuuu, so excited to read the book in November

Might as well re read era 1 too

Wayne is an excellent character.
Embarrassing to say new to reading fantasy novels just started with final empire and it’s amazing.
Nothing is embarrassing about being new to fantasy at any age. Starting new things is never embarrassing!
Read Wheel of Time. That’s all.
Can't listen to this because I haven't read any Sanderson, but liking and letting it play like a good subscriber.
lol thanks Matt 😂 But also read a Sanderson
Wayne also kind of reminds me of Artemus Gordon from the Wild Wild West with his disguises and his ability to change his accent.
THANK YOU!

I feel like everything Lore is asking for is in Mistborn: A Secret History... Right? Am I the only one?
We kinda know what Kelsier has been up to from a tiny bit of info we got at the end of Rhythm of War

chris pratt makes so much sense
How very dare he compare Wayne to The Worst Chris. Regardless, thanks for the video, I'd forgotten quite a bit!
LOL Pratt is the worst Chris and I’m so glad we all collectively agree on this

Is no one going to mention the Chris Pratt cameo??
Is the lost metal reference to Atium or Lerasium? I generally thought about Atium but it could be either?
Kelsier is not alive. It was a kandra. OurSeur consumed his body in era 1.
Have… have you read all of Mistborn, including the novellas 😬😬

In the character section it will
Please more summaries like this… too many books, too few hours, too terrible memory
Your husband is a lucky man.
Really good video, but the pronunciation was really killing me lol.
