when he started talking, i was like
"oh my gosh! its him! thats that voice was that i listen to for hours a day drawing! this is the man who helps me draw for hours. holy crap its actually him. this is sadly a huge deal to me."

I wait only for those realistic turtorials, Mark. When I follow your tutorials step by step for the realistic drawings, I end up with a realistic drawing even though I am a beginner at the age of 61. I think you should create a separate channel just for realistic things. Thank you so much.

It's kind of weird that I owe my drawing abilities to Mark Crilley. One day after watching one of his tutorials I decided to draw along with him. When I finished I was so proud ( even though now I think it's kind of bad ). I used to think that I couldn't even draw a stick figure right, but it turns out all I needed was a boost now I'm working on making my first manga comic! Thank you Mark.
It's nice to finally put the voice to the face. I was having a hard time watching this because I'm so used to listening to his voice only and watch him draw. I would have to look away at something on my desk a couple of times because I can't believe I am actually watching Mark Crilley speak to make sure it really him, I would have to look away and think " oh it is really him" lol weird but this is the first time I see what you look like Mark. Lol.

An artist that influences me on a daily basis is Takeshi Takeuchi. He works at Type-Moon, the same company that made Fate/stay night and Kara no Kyoukai. I really enjoy his work and his style really influenced mine.

Love this interview. Mark crilley is amazing, but the Interviewer is also very good at what he does. I like how he doesn't constantly try to talk over the interviewee but manages to ask the questions and be involved actively. Very well made video, and a big fan of Crilleys.

I was influenced by my art teachers and friends. First I saw my friends draw then my art techer gave us tips to improve our drawings so I got better. Now I started looking into how to draw and I came across mark crilley and thought that his art work was amazing and I tried doing it and started drawing more and more. At school people tell me that im good at drawing and thats because I watch mark crilleys youtube videos

man this was a fantastic interview. i now know how Mark's life of drawing started because, every time i watch his videos i find them hard so i now know that u have to have almost 7 years of practice or more. Thanx for this interview cartoon block. It really inspired me a lot.:D

i read akiko on planet smoo when i was a kid.... i never knew the author at the time, but i am amazed that i was connected to mark crilley before i even knew who he was or his art work of today, that is amazing, my mind is completely blown away.

Mark Crilley is my inspiration. I dont intend on doing anything with drawing. But I have always loved to draw since I was a kid and he has inspired me to get better and improve for myself.

Never was into drawing, wasn't my thing, around 25 something sparked in me while in work, little by little Mark has initiated my love for art, he is a true master and I thank him for any progress i get into this new found passion, so Thanks Mark, Like this video !

My influences are my mom who is an artist, Mark, and all of the shows, books, and comics I read! And really something that drives me is knowing that one day I'm going to look down and there will be a finished manga series that says "by Jaina" on it!

I had had his videos as reference...nowadays as you asked who is my influence I'm gonna take the name of Mr. Kim Jung Gi, a Korea based illustrator, I'm mostly obsessed by, because his extraordinary technique to draw the artworks without initial rough lines..just wow..I know this takes a lot of hard work to be at home in..and more necessarily passion..I'll be doing my best.

My first influence was Natsuki Takaya, author of "Fruits Basket". She taught me to accept manga as a part of our world.
Then, it was Arina Tanemura ("Full Moon"). She showed me emotion.
Endou Minari actually influenced my style quite a bit, because I used to read "Hatenkou Yuugi" quite frequently. (I encourage girls to read the series :D)
Mark Crilley is another. Though I'm not as passionate about art as him, he's allowed me to feel comfortable with finding my own style.

Give this guy a break. I think I heard the interviewer say 2011. Mark is amazing young, middle age, or older.
My influences? To be honest, everytime I saw an Anime/ Manga, I fell in love. I was enticed by the unique drawing style. I was already a lover of the pencil so I just tried to recreate what I saw . I love to write also so what I usually did was make comics, from primary school coming up I was known for my comics, nothing advancedtho. Then I was so fascinated with Anime styles that I started putting more effort in that and hav improved ALOT since I was young and am taking it more seriously now.
