Bio:
Classical guitarist Michael Lucarelli has performed throughout the U.S. for over 35 years. He’s known for his diverse programming and expressive style, tastefully blending classical, popular, Rock and jazz standards, as well as his original guitar compositions.
Aside from the concert stage, he’s entertained in such prestigious venues as The St. Regis Resort, Waldorf Astoria, Westin La Paloma, MGM Grand, Bellagio, the Venetian, Canyon Ranch, Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, the historic Arizona Inn, and The Ritz Carlton, to name a few.
He’s an annual favorite at The Sundance Film Festival where he’s entertained for industry notables such as Steven Spielberg, Dreamworks Animation, Arts & Entertainment.
Michael has performed for corporate events since 1985. Some of his clients include: IBM, Verizon, Toyota, Microsoft, and the list goes on!
Mr. Lucarelli was a featured performer at Mitt Romney’s Republican National Fundraiser during his 2012 presidential campaign.
Michael was a finalist in The Norman Sholin Guitar Competition, and has made numerous radio and television appearances including CBS’s Touched By An Angel. His music videos have earned him a respectable following on CZcams with 60 million views and 136,000 subscribers, and twice received an Individual Artist grant from The National Endowment of the Arts.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Michael Lucarelli began his musical education on the electric guitar, but later discovered the classical guitar, and began his studies with Peruvian guitarist Ricardo Linares. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Music degree from The University of Utah, and in 1992, completed his Masters at The University of Arizona in guitar performance.
Aside from being a critically acclaimed guitar soloist, Michael’s 23 CDs continue to receive enthusiastic reviews from fans world-wide. - Hudba

yes like a rythym and lead. like the rythym is piano and the lead are the high notes. this is exceptional playing. ,to play these 2 parts ,takes many hours/days /years of practice

... and he plucks an extra note from the bass once in a while. While this is a different genre, it reminds me of Tommy Emmanuel.

I purchased the sheet music from you for my brother who wanted to learn to play this on classical guitar. That was two years ago, he worked very hard to learn the technique. He worked very hard at it and was very close to accomplishing his goal, but he passed away before I could hear him play it. Thank you for inspiring him!

I love the subtle pauses as he juggles the rhythms of the melody and the rhythm parts. Gives it so much depth and character :)

Your playing is luminous and atmospheric, but perhaps the nicest thing I could and should say is how hard it is to imagine ONE person performing this piece. Every time I looked away from the video, I kept seeing the second guy in my head.

I've heard different versions of this song, ones with heavy tremolo, others played it as a bad version of the song. But this version you have transposed is so heavenly. I have learned it and trying to grasp the execution of the notes has become a challenge. Thank you for bringing the guitar version to life, you have achieved what many of us instrumentalist seek; to be able to bring the beauty and poetry out of our instrument. .

He escuchado muchas interpretaciones de Ave María , por muchos guitarristas excelentes. Pero al decir de mi padre , que era músico, este "toca con el alma" . Yo como niño que era, no entendía lo que me quería decir. Hoy a mis setenta y dos años lo puedo entender y llegar a emocionarme al oir esta interpretación.

I wasn't a fan of his early work, it was a little too new wave. But when this came out 13yr ago, he really came into his own, both commercially and artistically.

La compañera de mi padre (fallecido) musico , es arpista solista y muy buena, su nombre Amalia Maresca. Ha actuado en las mejores orquestas sinfonicas de nuestro pais y aun en la orquesta sinfonica de Porto Alegre. Hace poco ha recibido honores por sus actuaciones.

Wow, beautiful! I don't know whether it's the guitar, the church, or only Mr Lucarelli, and perhaps it's all three! Whatever, it's the most thrilling-sounding rendition of this masterwork, sensitive, technically wringing the most out of both the bass and treble lines, holding onto the string longer--to get that throaty growl, and sensitively finding the human voice in every note of the singing line.
