I actually already learned something. I usually download my models manually so havent clicked on the model downloader.... seeing you can download controlnet models via that is a godsend. Its annoying to manually download each one of those so that will save a lot of time.

A tip on the reroutes. if you right click the dot for the out put and rename it you get that text in the centre of the reroute (where you would often just get "int" or "string" this helps make work flows easier to read as it gets longer.

My absolute favorite feature of ComfyUI is that the whole workflow, from prompts to control nets to seed values, is stored inside the final rendered image.
I recently learned some new composition techniques from this channel, and I could just load up an old image I wasn't completely happy with, improve it using this new knowledge, and create a new render -- no need to mess around with json files for configuration settings.

This is excellent to see, it has bought me back to watching your content instead of just watching you talk about how great comfy is. It's great to see you showing people who have never used it before how to get going from day 1 interactions with it. I watched Scott Detweilers videos to learn comfy. He has some interesting opinions about the negative prompt box.

Hey Olivio! I'm one of your 'bonehead' followers! LOL LOL. Well, I've been avoiding Comfy due to me NOT wanting to learn something new but my latest SDXL project and the out of CUDA memory errors (using Nvidia 4500 GPU with 20Gb of VRAM) hampered me so much (GAAA!!!) I've decided to give Comfy a try. Well! Since you took so much time putting out these tutorials, I'm going to take advantage. :) Thank you sooo, sooo, much! Keep doing what you're doing; we appreciate it.

A little more advanced, but apart from the "sticky group areas", you can also select multiple nodes and click "create group node".
This combines all I/O & values into a SINGLE widget. You can integrate reroutes to create extra inputs & outputs as well. Drawback is that if you create a "wrongly wired" widget it will be hard to debug, but it can be very useful to visually simplify very complex workflows.

Great start. I still think it should be called ClutterUI but that's me.
A request if you haven't already filmed it. Would you think about doing a tutorial on customising filenames on output, the same as A1111 does it. I'm not talking about simply changing the name but adding the checkpoint name, the prompt, the date and any other information someone might want. It took me many hours to figure this out and I'm still not sure how it works. Documentation is almost non existent for it, so others may find it really useful too. Cheers.

Made a ComfyUI setup for batch img2img processing new sprites for a game. Found some of it in WSO module for prompts and for images - it seems to work as long as you use only one instance of the module for batch image load and for "next text line loader" for prompts. It took me ages to figure out the quirk about only 1 instance, did not have fun.

As an absolute beginner, it would help if you went through the process of getting the initial ComfyUi interface up (I'm guessing it is via GitHub but would still appreciate it). Also, if you have never used A1111 then how do you get the models installed and which do you recommend . Also what hardware requirements are required. If you have another video covering these points perhaps you could provide link. Cheers

Thanks Olivio. But I still prefer A1111 as it's much easier to use. Inpainting, img2img, etc are better in A1111 without having to read 100 guides and install 100 addons like in comfy and then to discover that you did something wrong with the installations with error messages about some missing custom nodes. Comfyui is just hard and impractical for advanced stuff no matter how much the average person tries to learn it.

A1111 definitely has its advantages but Comfy is much more versatile and efficient. There's a reason that most of the newer development in AI art generation has occurred in Comfy whereas A1111 seems to be stuck in arrested development.

    • @hcfgaming401
      @hcfgaming401 Před 4 měsíci +8

I was in the same boat as you!
For me personally, comfy looked so intimidating and I thought I was never going to switch.
Once I finally did I realized that it never really gave it a fair chance, and by the time I was comfortable with the UI I realized that it took me the same amount, or even less time to learn than A1111 did.
I've only been using it for about 3 months, but I find that when new extensions and tools come out it is infinitely easier to learn and incorporate into my work than it was on A1111, although I do still keep A1111 launched in the background for its stellar inpainting.
Again this is just all my personal opinion, but once you get over the same learning curve that you needed to get over when you started A1111; Comfy is vastly better, even for hobbyists.

I switched to comfy last friday for kpop dance stuff. I lost a lot of time because my videos were blurry for some reason. It was just one variable that ruined them and that is basically the issue with comfy. It is super easy to make mistakes . But on the other hand the finetuning is amazing! Also now i can create my own workflows which allows me to make my prefered videos with 1 click .
