Thank you. This is really helpful. I just had one of my garage door remote stolen from my vehicle parked outside. This tutorial gives me piece of mind.
Same! Do you live in california?
So after you press both remote and the device button, only your remote opens the door and the one that was lost doesn’t. Thanks for a great tutorial 👌😍🙏🏻
Finally I found someone who answered my question after several months of searching yt videos..... Thanks for the info... very much needed.
Simple but perfect explanation. 👍
Nice, thanks for sharing 😊❤
I have a LiftMaster 8550 opener and one of remote control device was stolen. Would like to make sure that after erased the memory for all remoted control devices, then once re-programming those devices, the opener will generate a brand new set of code to use?
Correct
@@GarageDoorGuidance Many thanks for your help!
Hello. Is there a way to make sure the stolen remote will not work once the codes have been erased?
If you have another remote to test once erased you should feel confident any and all others have been erased as well. Then you can re program the one you do have (:
@@GarageDoorGuidanceTHANK~YOU SO MUCH!! ❤
@@GarageDoorGuidancemake sure the test remote is far from the signal in the garage.
Do you know how to do it with Came doors, specifically model fa70230cb module?
I’m sorry, what door opener ?
If my remote was lost must I buy a universal remote or can I purchase one that is for the particular brand of garage door?
If it’s old typically it’ll be a universal but if you can find an original I’d say that’s just fine
Thanks. This was super helpful, however i jave a question. After erasing the codes, i checked the remote code abd it was not working. So i reprogrammed just that one remote. And i was expecting that my the remote opener in my car wont work because i had not reprogrammed them. But i was surprised that the built in remote opener in my car was still working. Any ideas why?
It should’ve definitely cleared the cars too,
I’d try again and test the theory?
I was told if the device is not right there by the mounted opener, then the opener will still recognize the device. I had a neighbor take my remote into his house without my knowledge for about 5 minutes then called and told me he had it! I knew he cloned it. So, I asked a repair guy if clearing codes would work and he said the cloned device will not be in the vicinity of the signal to clear it, so it will still work.
I’ve never heard of that. You can park your car with a remote down the street and try erasing it, pull up and see if it works. It erases from the head unit not the remote otherwise the whole erasing feature would be entirely pointless and only good for 1 or 2 homeowners as there’s a limit to how many things can be programmed at one time
So this procedure will reprogram a NEW code into the remote? Please, let me know.
In short, yes
@@GarageDoorGuidancehow so, if the opener is learning from the remote?
Anyone knows how to do that for marantec 4700e? 😭
That’s a tough one lol I hate those ones ! I’d look up the manual on Google
My key pad was stolen and want to know if they can hack in or is there a way to reset it so it won’t work ?
Erase your codes and it won’t work, reprogram what you’re left with and you should be good to go
