    Thanks to Snot Goblin Gaming for sponsoring this video and letting me do an honest review of this terrain set!
    It's up on Kickstart if you want to check it out: ➡️ www.kickstarter.com/projects/snotgoblingaming/futureproof-wargaming-terrain-by-snot-goblin-gaming?ref=d59hpr

    They look pretty good. A million times better than the old Cities of Death sets, that's for sure! I am not in the market for any, but if I was i need of city style scenery, this is definitely a solid choice. The walls may be too thin for my taste, though.

      I'd like to see a 2x4 framing set in this style. I think the thickness would fit that build style pretty well. Thanks for the comment!

      @@hauntswargaming What do you mean with 2X4? Is it specific to inches for warhammer? or grid units for a specific game?

    • @hauntswargaming
      @hauntswargaming  Před 6 měsíci +1

      @@MAJmufin noo, in the US a 2x4 is a piece of lumber for construction. It's used for the 2x4 framing. It refers to the thickness of the boards in inches. Or at least what they used to be before companies started cheaping out and making them smaller.

    That idea to use the plastic wrap as a mask is great. I would not have thought of that.
    The purple walls are eye searing.

      Thanks, the purple walls are not my best idea :p They may get repainted

      if its any consolation, I like the beige walls.

    I liked the cooler blue color scheme, but the purple really pops.
    I like the concept, but the price is too much for me. Maybe a quarter set?

    • @hauntswargaming

      I was basing that blue one off of the one in the thumbnail. I'm not sure who painted that originally, but I like that color scheme a lot!

    The floor tiles would be a hassle during gameplay. My lgs started using all terrain without bottom floors as its much easier to play with.

    • @hauntswargaming
      @hauntswargaming  Před 6 měsíci

      You get a few pieces that don't have flooring attached but not enough to really build a set around.
      I'm kind of curious why that would be a hassle. For LoS?

    I work blue collar jobs; there is absolutely no way I would have the time to make my own terrain to the level of detail and variety I would like... I'm always interested in quicker terrain solutions for my home table.

      Personally, I wouldn't trust the push fit nubs to not break off, ruining the joint. That would be my concern with resin. And with PLA you'd end up sanding everything down and getting a lot of inconveniences in the fit. I'm sure some people could make it work but I think it would be a real hassle.

    • @peterbasso4734
      @peterbasso4734 Před 6 měsíci +1

      @@hauntswargaming I it would probably work better if you were able to use magnets with the 3D printed version. But you're 100% right about the nubs being weak.

      I design 3D printed terrain, tried the push fit and it’s a pain. So I switched by using clips of my own designs. I love Snot Goblins work, it always looked amazing.

      @@Slurgical_3D_Terrain_Channel you know that open lock clip system would actually work pretty well for something like this

    • @Slurgical_3D_Terrain_Channel
      @Slurgical_3D_Terrain_Channel Před 6 měsíci

      @@peterbasso4734 Openlock is a great system, but I personally find it too big and it forces the terrain to be too thick. So I created another clip system to save on filament with terrain size and clips. Strength wise it holds its own since the terrain pieces are thinner and lighter giving more real estate for gaming. I have been testing it for over 3 years. I initially used Lego clips on my original terrain but their plastic was too soft. (You can buy their clips in bulk from Lego). I was hoping that would have worked saving even more plastic and printing time. Turned out it was a hassle and not strong enough.
      I am not trashing openlock. I initially asked for their licence for my terrain and they gave it as they are an amazing company geared for gamers. At the time I had a Wanhao printer and it was a nightmare with printing time and a whole slew of things. So I wanted to minimize the wait time for printing. Turned out better for me at the end.
      My tile thickness is 4mm to work with Framework and NibNub connectors. I made my own “H” style connectors for the wall clips. I use a standard of 10mm thickness.
      I’m just offering another option.
