Mayur Puri is an Indian screenwriter, lyricist, actor and film-maker working in Mumbai. He wrote songs, screenplays and dialogue for several movies, including Om Shanti Om (2007) starring Shahrukh Khan directed by Farah Khan, where Mayur also did a cameo appearance (as the wanna be Gujju Director of 'Apahij Pyar'). He wrote dialogue for the Farah Khan film Happy New Year (2014). On 17 November 2014 Library of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences selected the screenplay of Happy New Year for its permanent Core Collection.
Mayur wrote the dialogue for India's first 3D Dance film ABCD: Any Body Can Dance. He also penned the songs for 'ABCD: Any Body Can Dance'. After the success of 'ABCD: Any Body Can Dance', Mayur has written dialogue and songs for the second installment of the franchise ABCD: Any Body Can Dance 2.
Mayur recently directed Firdaws (2017), his first short film that has been doing festival rounds and has been the official selection in over 36 international festivals. Mayur has won 16 International Awards for Firdaws.
Mayur has been one of the game changers responsible for the localization, transcreation and adaptations of various big studio Hollywood films into Hindi translated blockbusters.
He has penned the Hindi translation of big-ticket Hollywood films like The Lion King (2019), Avengers - Endgame (2019), Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle (2018), Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017) and Thor Ragnarok (2017) Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019), Orange Is The New Black (2013-19), Jojo Rabbit (2019), Spies In Disguise (2019) and Locke and Key (2020)to name a few. As of now, Mayur is gearing up for his directorial debut.
Mayur Puri is known for his standout screenplay, script and dialogues in films like 'Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai' and 'Om Shanti Om', 'FALTU', 'ABCD"; and lyrics for songs such as 'Falak Dekhun', 'Yeh Khuda', 'Bheegi Bheegi Si Hain', 'Jaane Kya Chahe Mann', 'Pyaar Karke', 'Jee Karda', 'Lat Lag Gayi', Bezubaan', 'Saree Ke Fall Sa', 'If you hold my hand', 'Teri Ore', 'Selfie Le Le Re', 'Toh Dishoom', and 'Mayi Teri Chunariya'.
