I have to stay up to 7:00 if I want to watch a ppv main event. I am always a wreck for a whole day after that…
European fans got fucked… I’m French and always look forward to the UK cards to have fights at a decent times. And as a Tom fan I really was looking forward to it. Still gonna watch but it’s truly a shame.

Whoever pays to go to that arena is a sucker, the UK plays a big part in the UFC, fighter wise and fan wise. This is disgraceful what they’re doing to the UK fans and the main even is their CHAMPION FIGHTING!!!!! This is beyond disrespectful. Tom is tip toeing around the tone he should actually be using. The disrespect UK fighters are getting not just their champion but also the REAL champion of the heavyweight division Tom himself. Don’t hold back Tom, you’re being to nice here.

I think it completely stinks, and I’m an American. I can understand the card running pretty late in the UK, but STARTING at 3am? It feels disrespectful to the fighters and especially the fans. The whole point of having the UK card is to feature Tom and Leon, and to grow the fanbase. Only the hardcores who would have already been watching, are going to see it now. Defeats the whole purpose IMO.
Not to mention, I like a daytime card in the US. Its like football Sundays. Make some food, have some people over, its summer soon so maybe grill something? I don’t get it.
I’m surprised the arena got a license to put the event on at that time, maybe because it’s new. I don’t think any other arena in the U.K. would be legally allowed to. I’d doubt they will be allowed to sell alcohol now at this event, which I suspect will be an even bigger issue for the fans with tickets.
I'm from the UK and this decision by the UFC felt like a kick in the balls. Tickets will start at £800 minimum for a half baked atmosphere. Fans will either be wasted, asleep or both. If the UFC is serious about growing it needs to move away from the PPV model and adopt subscription based deals like other major sports. I also think they should consider having events in different continents in the same weekend rather than focusing on the money they make from America.
You realise this is a PPV event and the champion is paid according to the PPV buys? That is what fight night cards are for, but are you suggesting they should lose the vast majority of PPV buys and lose out on millions including the fighters?

No idea what you are talking about with regard to legality, the law is the law. That’s like saying you can punch somebody and not break the law in Macclesfield but you can’t in Brighton.
@@eddiel7635and what do you mean can’t sell alcohol? Nightclubs literally operate to sell alcohol late at night, you either have a license to sell alcohol or you don’t and the arena will. A lot of events don’t finish until gone midnight anyway.

As a European whose Been watching mma for ten plus years now this is the most insulted I’ve ever felt , I don’t complain about staying up all night every second weekend to watch a big card or a fight night but to have to stay up till 7 a.m. in Ireland to watch a card that’s on in England is actually a joke

@@joelm.650 I don’t buy pay per view cause I pay for fight pass and tnt sports and that has every card live , it’s just the principal though , a big European card is sucha big deal for me I can properly enjoy it and watch it with mates instead of staying up all night by myself watching it and then the next day is ruined and what about the people going to it , lads are gonna be on the beers for 12 -14 plus hours by the Tom had won the main event

Ive been watching European and asian sports at weird times my whole life... it just is what it is.
F1 starts at 4 am, Japanese sports start at noon...
Every person watching sports across the world is going to have to watch it at annoying times, that still doesn’t change the fact that the sports should be held at an appropriate time for the fans attending the event. F1 doesn’t start at 4am either it starts at a completely different time every race

Hell on the east coast I don’t like staying up past midnight to watch the main event. Afternoon cards are great, wish they had more of them. This fight time makes 0 sense.

That fight started at like half 2 in the morning
Im from Newcastle and will be doing anything I can to go to the event. Personally im all for the late start as the atmosphere will be amazing as it will only be full of the fans who really want to be there.
It really annoyed me at 286 how many people showed up for the main card only. Or how many people don’t cheer, don’t clap, uninterested in general. There was a couple near to me taking a nap at UFC 286 I couldn’t believe it.
The afternoon time for the U.S. may be a contractual issue since many sports are shown on television during the afternoon. The broadcast channels don't seem to prioritize combat sports for afternoon hours.
With all that said, as a U.S. guy, I personally wouldn't mind the change so it helps you guys watch the events in the evening. Sometimes I think combat sports out here tend to go on too late. I think it would benefit everyone to move the times up to the afternoon generally. Boxing, for example, does this late night stuff very often. They drag out the cards for far too long. I don't like it at all.

Lived in Australia for 2 years, one of the best bits about it was youbcould watch UFC in a restaraunt and relax at lunch time, watched Mcgregor Aldo, having a nice lunch chilling in a cafe with a big massive screen live

I’d prefer having some cards early in the day , east coast gets fucked too with the time zone difference . The west can watch all the fights and still have a few hours left in the night

I think Dana explained it once. If you change the time by even an hour it heavily affects the PPV buys. I think the UFC only changes the time for the middle east because they get paid enough to make up the difference in PPV buys.
I have to stay up until 6 am to watch UFC most weekends, would've been nice to have it on UK time for a fecking change. Poor decision UFC.

As an American, I don't know a single person that will die on a hill for a 10pm main card start time. We LOVE when main cards start at 8pm, and I don't think anyone would even give a shit if it started at 6pm.
